Review Icon DogFoodMan reviewed barley in Grains:
I use barley to make hearty soups. Its a great base grain.I prefer hulled barley(despite its long cooking time)for its greater nutritive value, but regular medium barley or quick barley by quaker is good too.Its even heartier the longer it remains in the soup stock with the heat off, because it begins to swell up.

I havent eaten in a McDonalds for 15 years. My ex-wife has always worked at them. She used to spit in burgers if she didnt like someone, especially cops. She did it in Austin and Kansas City. I cant believe she is a McDonalds store manager at Las Cruces El Paseo now. Goes to show the low standards of McDonalds.

This is a pretty decent small fast-food burger. Keep in mind that it is pretty small, but really not much difference than most of the other fast-food restaurants. At $1 it's actually a pretty good deal, but you might want to think about ordering two or getting a different larger sandwich altogether. (I prefer Hardees thickburgers when it comes to amount of meat for the money.) From a taste standpoint, it is pretty good. Buyer beware on the pricing if you get it as part of a combo meal (see below).

There has been a lot of controversy lately about this burger being sold for $1. BK headquarters want the franchieses to sell it for $1. The franchieses say that they lose money at that price. Just note that some Burger King restaurants are handling this situation by upping the price considerably when ordering it as part of a combo meal. Here's my last experience.....

I went to Burger King the other night and ordered the Double Cheeseburger combo meal. It included the double cheeseburger, small fries, and small drink and cost $3.79 before tax. Interestingly, as I waited for my food, I noticed that double cheeseburger, small fries, and small drink (16 oz.) each cost $1.00 on their BK value menu. I also noticed that the price for all the other combo meals (adds a small fries and small drink) were exactly $2.00 more than the cost of just the sandwich alone. Apparently, if I had purchased the double cheeseburger, small fries, and a small drink instead of the double cheeseburger combo meal, it would have only cost me $3.00 instead of the $3.79 that I paid.

I didn't make a fuss since it was still a fair price (and mighty tasty too) at $3.79 but if I had done it again, I would have ordered each item separately, got the same food, and kept the extra $.79 plus tax in my pocket.

I've had this sandwich, and it is quite good for fast food.

Do not, however, get this confused with the BK original chicken sandwich which is absolutely terrrible! Believe me, it's worth the little extra cost to get the Tendercrisp instead. The Tendercrisp might not be as good for you from a healthy standpoint, but at least you can stand to eat it.

Those who rated this sandwich high have probably had the Tendercrisp. I suspect those who have rated this sandwich low must have it confused with the original chicken sandwich that they probably ordered.

Once again.... BK Tendercrisp chicken = good .... original BK chicken = bad.

I've had this sandwich, and I think it was the worst chicken sandwich I ever had. BK's Tendercrisp chicken sandwich, however, is very good.

I ordered the regular chicken sandwich because it was bigger and cheaper than the Tendercrisp. In this case, I got even less than I paid for. Believe me, it's worth the little extra cost to get the Tendercrisp instead. The Tendercrisp might not be as good for you from a healthy standpoint, but at least you can stand to eat it.

Those who rated this sandwich low know what I'm talking about. I suspect those who have rated this sandwich must have it confused with a Tendercrisp that they ordered. I'm giving 1 star just because it is sustinance for an empty stomach, and it didn't actually make me sick afterwards.

Once again.... BK Tendercrisp chicken = good, regular BK chicken = bad.
