For me, Airborne is pretty effective at warding off impending colds. I usually take some the moment I start to feel congested and it goes away quickly before turning into full-on misery. Perhaps there's a bit of the placebo effect at play, but I'll take that over the sniffles and a chest cold any day!
There are a lot of flavors available now, and I've tried many of them. My favorites are:
1. Apple Cider Nighttime Formula - You drink this warm, and although it's not quite cider-y, the herbal flavor is barely noticeable. I believe this one has a few sleep-inducing additives like valerian root, so not recommended for daytime.
2. Very Berry - This is the newest flavor and it's my new favorite daytime formula. I was a bit worried it would be sickeningly sweet, but it tastes mostly like fresh strawberries. It masks the herbal flavor quite well and is easy to drink.
The lemon-lime is better than zesty orange, but both these start to taste like herbs which is a little unsettling when I'm drinking something vaguely sweet.
