Republican v. Democrat 3

I know there are lots of folks on both sides of the aisle who won't agree with me, but as far as I'm concerned these are two buttocks of one bum.

That's the beauty of being moderate -- it leaves room for error on both sides.

Really, differences in political preference should not keep people from getting along, or at least respecting one another.

Republican v. Democrat 3

I did not vote for either Republican or Democratic candidates for president in 2004 and 2008. I threw my vote away on a third party candidate as a protest. I know it didn't do much good, but I really feel a whole lot better. Neither George W. Bush nor Barack Hussein was MY president. I reject them both.

Until the 2008 election I had always voted Republican with one exception- I voted Libertarian once for state representative.
Our choice now basically boils down to socialism v. socialism lite, and I will support neither.
You know you're getting old when you can recall a time when there was an honest difference between the two "major" parties.

Well this is a tough call. On the one hand you have the Republicans who want to Impose themselves on us while taking Away as many liberties as we will allow. (Hint: Apparently, its a lot) And then they want to tax the hell out of Us.
And then you have the Democrats which is the EXACT Opposite. They want Tax the hell out of us and take Away as many liberties as we will allow. (Which is a lot, remember.)

Very tough call.

Oh, God. Democrats and Republicans are like those dead sisters in 'The Shining.' They are pretty much the exact same thing. Who do we have here? Flapjacks McCain and La'Douche Kerry. Big fucking wow.

Republican v. Democrat 4

Both capitalist parties have the same goal - keeping the suckers in line whilst preserving the advantages of the oligarchy - but they differ in how to do it.

In a nutshell:

Decomrats believe in the carrot and stick method, whilst Rethuglicans see no good reason to waste money on carrots.

UPDATE:

It's an eviler of two lessers concept.

It's a 'lesser of two evils' scenario. Republicans are conservative? Garbage. Democrats are for the 'little guy'? More garbage. It's about acquiring, maintaining and wielding power, pure and simple. I generally vote Republican because they want to control fewer aspects of my life than do Democrats, who at this stage want to control EVERY aspect of EVERYONE's lives.
Folks complain constantly about how bad our representatives are. My questions to them: HOW did these folks get into office in the first place? And WHO put them there?

Hard to tell them apart right now.

If a fistfight broke out in Congress right now, my money would be on Blue, however.

I agree with MPR on this one, and not because she's my sister, but this is the way that I also believe. I think both sides have good qualities about them. That's why I'm registered the way that I am, as a nonpartisan, because I vote for the person and not the party. It just so happens to be that this last time I marked on my ballot "none of these candidates", but there were things on the ballot that I did want to vote for, which is the only reason why I voted at all.

I prefer Conservative, but I will go with Republican unless it is Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins type Republicans. Hey, the Dems already have cloture, why don't you two go ahead and join the "Specter."

I'd prefer neither, as it's rather apparent that both parties are screwed up. But since I refuse to vote for a Democrat unless they make some major changes to their platform, and I vote Republican unless there is a decent independant or third party candidate, I say Republican.
