Whenever I hear either of 'em,I always keep in mind that Moses had a speech impediment.

Clinton, smarmy though he may be, is a pretty damned good speaker. He doesn't have the uh, pauses, that Obama, uh, seems to have.

Pretty close. I'm sure they both continue to make Bush cringe.

They both should not have been in office.

Pretty easy choice. Bill Clinton is the better orator between the two. Not that Barack Obama isn't an accomplished orator, but with an outwardly sublime personality and the master showmanship of salesman selling a bottle of hair tonic at an outdoor bazaar to an audience of bald men, Clinton has this rivalry pretty much wrapped up- especially when compared to the relatively-humorless Obama.

Obama's crippled without his teleprompter. No contest here.

I don't like what either of them have to say. However, I have to go with Obama because the sound of Clinton's voice makes me cringe.

Bubba by a decent margin. Obama is a polished speaker, but is surprisingly weak in impromptu situations. In fact, he's made me cringe a few times. Clinton on the other hand was a good speaker in most occasions. He had a tendency to rant, and he could be self-absorbed at times, but he was an effective communicator. I also consider Clinton to be much brighter than Obama, especially when it came to policy issues. Very detailed understanding of the issues, even if he wasn't correct some of the time. Obama is an intelligent fellow, but nothing extraordinary.

Well, considering that the Clintons (Chelsea/Hillary/Bill) are the equivalent to a massive puke spill, I'll take President Obama any day of the week.

Obama is a very good speaker.....with a script. Please try to remember his peformances in the primary and presidential debates. When this kid hasn't been scripted, he has tripped, stumbled, and blurted more 'uhs', 'duhs', and 'ahhhhs' than ted Kennedy on a 3 day drunk.
My impression of Clinton is that he's not as good a scripted speaker as the community organizer,
but he's a better 'off the cuff' speaker.
I wish folks would stop kidding themselves that our current President has anything more than somewhat above average intelligence. I was no Clinton fan, but I'd trade Barry for him in a New York second.

Both have public charisma. . .even their respective detractors agree on this.

I found Clinton as an orator quite overrated- he was a slick redneck with a law degree with a solid amount of intelligence and determination. But for this punk, the smaller the crowd/venue, the more effective Clinton became.

When I worked in DC while Clinton was waxing interns, I met many people who (in small venues) raved about how Billy worked a room. They can't all be wrong.

The larger the venue, the stronger Obama becomes. . .thus it doesn't matter how he is in small venues because he's a solid speaker on a big scale.

I think Big O is the better orator. His detractors strangely think he's a walking teleprompter. . .I just don't buy it. He has a solid command of the language and isn't swayed or distracted while thinking on his feet. Some teacher somewhere gave him terrific public speaking tips.. . .(I had a good one as well.) People who critique Dumbo as being a mechanical speaker can't look past their personal dislike of the man.

Slick Willie wins this one...no question.
I never liked Bill Clinton but, objectively, I have to say he was a great orator. Obama relies almost completely on teleprompters and hand-picked audiences.
