good enough movie. a lot of those "teenage angst" movies are horrid. interesting plot about five high school students who have to spend a saturday in detention. each come from different groups. brainy nerd, thug, athlete, popular cheerleader,and Odd ball. although I think different words were used at the end of the movie. good actors come together some scenes better than others. I am surprised that this is the number one drama. i like this movie but there are better dramas than Breakfast club.

This is probably my least-favorite scene in the film PRECISELY because it betrays one of the basic tenets of drama: "Show, don't tell.". http://movie-courier.com/search/genre/Drama-66870.html Don't sit around a circle and tell me your sad stories. Show me!! When we (the audience) learn about John's abuse, during the confrontation with Andy, that is more dramatic than anything that is revealed in the circle scene.

One of the top films of the 80's. The Brat Pack worked GREAT with each other. A fairly well acted movie.

Definitely better than Amadeus! (JK)A funny movie that, for my money, should have been left that way. The pseudo drama toward the end made me want to spew. But then, who am I to question the genius of Emelio Estevez and Molly Ringworm.

I liked this film a lot. If the list was about favorite movies, I'd give it a four. As a dramatic movie, three stars is as high as I can go. Two reasons: First, I think of it as a comedy first, a comedy with some dramatic elements. Second, there is that scene toward the end of the movie whee they are sitting in a circle "sharing". This is probably my least-favorite scene in the film PRECISELY because it betrays one of the basic tenets of drama: "Show, don't tell.". Don't sit around a circle and tell me your sad stories. Would have given it 5 stars, but I can't get past dandruff on the big screen. And why didn't it affect her relationship with Emilio's character? That much dandruff would have been all over her dark-clad shoulders.
