I go to the Los Angeles campus and the LVN program is really bad. I"m in the nights/weekend class and half of the half is not passing. Sucky teaching and lazy and rude adminsitration.

I am a student of the LVN program and am so frustrated by this school already! The school is only worried about their own reputation and the ability to recruit more students, not education! If you learn from your mistakes you WILL NOT learn here. After taking a test you will not be able to see your test questions again for fear of future students cheating and in turn a lower percentage of first time pass rate on the state licensing board (this % is used for advertisement). My recommendation: take your $31,500 elsewhere. I wish I could!!!

My class signed a petition to get a teacher removed for failing to generally teach. She taught us things that if we actually did them in a pharmacy setting we could easily lose our job. She taught us the math we need for pharmacy calculations wrong and when asked about the correct way told us to ask a fellow student to explain it.The directors seemed to care at first, they said they had heard the same thing from other people and would work it out. Nothing happened for a month. We were so behind when we transfered to the new teacher. Now, they are giving us her as a teacher again as the new teacher left to teach at a better school. They explained that since only 1/5 (10 out of 50) of her class ever came in to the directors office to complain, she wasn't a bad teacher, even though 20 people signed a petition on top of the 10 who went in person.DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! You might get stuck with Ms. Beauman and never learn what you need to know in the field!

When attending the LVN program I would suggest that your get your CNA certificate after completing the first quarter. Get a full or part time job being a CNA. This way you will have the job experience you need when you graduate. One of the things the LVN program does not tell you is that you need 1 year experience to get a job after you graduate at most places. So how do you get a job without the experience? Also, the school says that they offer Career Services, but don't count on them. I have given so many excuses as to why they can help me it is ridiculous. I have heard that they are moving offices, or their computer crashed, or email is down, or we don't have a scanner to email that to you. They don't keep track of where the supposedly send out the resumes or even know which resume they send out. They had 3 resumes on file for me and could not tell me where they sent my resume. I never received a call from where they supposedly sent my resume. I was never given or offered any other services like they say on their website. I heard that they are looking for a director for that department. I wonder if that is why they are so messed up. Including not having a job fair since 7/08 in Anaheim.

First of all, I've completed the Medical Assisting program here. If you're expecting to find a job with medical assisting going to school here, its not worth it. Most of the people I talked to have gone through an externship and have not started working as a Medical Assistant. However, some of the things you learn may help you become more knowledgeable for your medical career.(i.e. Medical Terminology)Most students want to keep going with their education and move on with careers such as phlebotomy or nursing or pharmacy tech. I'm in the Vocational Nursing program right now at ACC and it is a completely different atmosphere compared to the other programs. So far I believe the instructors are very reasonable. They may be strict but its because they expect you to actually work for your grade. Don't expect to get by by just sitting in class. You have to actually study more than 6 hours a day. It's not an easy program...
