I used Nationwide to move my daugher out to California after she had graduated. My contact was Sean, he was professional, friendly and gave me a good price. The guys that came were great according to my daughter. She said that they took care of everything for her. She said she didnt have any major issues with her move what so ever. Over all we received good service from the office staff to the driver.

In planning my move from Irvine, Califonia to fort lauderdale florida a friend suggested i call Nationwide Relocation Services because she used them for her move. I contact them and got a hold of Shane Young. He was a very professional and assured me my move will be seamless.I trusted Shane and his company Nationwide and it is a decision i would make over and over if i had the chance. Nationwide Relocation Services was very professional from start to finish, i also had my car moved and even though it came 1 day late i was still impressed with the follow up.I would recommend Nationwide Relocation Services to all my friends!!

This company doesn't even deserve one star. They subcontract to others and then won't help when there are problems. They didn't pick up my belongings on time or deliver on time. Upon delivery they demanded more money than what was quoted. BEWARE of NATIONWIDE!
ylo 10/07/2009
They promised the move will be easy and they will take the stress out of me. Actually, they PUT the stress on me!!!! NEVER trust everything they said because it's a big lie and all they want is your money!! Be aware that if they say the bad reviews are just 1% of their customers. I don't believe it right now. I think there's only 1 % that is satisfying. I just have our first baby in July and was going to move from OR to TX in August. The reason why I choose this company is that I couldn't find (or didn't do my research) other long distance movers that will move things for us cause we cann't move heavy things. The original estimate is $2262 for 3000 lbs. Joe Petitt kept promising me that it won't be move this estimate, which is a lie. The driver picked up our things on the two day pick up window, which is ok. But the nightmare began here. They said our things is 4120 lbs. and there'll be an extra charge ($500 more). But actually, before they picked up our things, they just put on gas on their truck for 50 gallons. That'll put weight on our things, but they never mentioned that. When I requested a reweight, they gave me a weight station that is 50 miles away from Austin, which is unreasonable. I don't believe that there's no weight station near Austin. I think that's Nationwide trying to cover the moving company's ass. Well, but this is not the headache, the headache is that they NEVER tell me when they are going to come. I called them several times and it is magic that Joe Petitt was disappear and he is now a manager! What a coincidence! He promised to watch the whole process, again, a lie. The mover in Oregon take my things on 8/21 and put them in the warehouse, for a WHOLE MONTH! The estimate deliver date is 9/9 but it is just a number to them. My new born baby, my husband and I were sleeping on the floor for the whole month. It's really bad for the health for both my baby and I. I called many times to Nationwide but they did nothing just to contact the mover, by the way, the mover is Mark Mornings, a big liar too. He never said when the driver will come, and never kept his words. He told me that the driver will deliver over the weekend, but they never show up. He did that for two, three times. I was furious!! I am the person that is not easy to get angry, but I was really MAD and angry at him. His driver also charged me $100 for wrapping my mattress, springbox and stereo system, but they never did!! Another big lie here. When he finally sure his driver will come, it was not a good time for me because I have to go to classes and my husband is out for a business trip. He even threaten me that if I was unable to be home, the driver will just leave my things to a warehouse and I have to pay the fee and hire someone to move them. Well, first of all, I was waiting the whole month for the driver and he never comes. I gave him the time I am available but he said he cannot guarantee. What kind of company is that? What kind of service is that? When on 9/25, the driver finally came, their truck (18 wheeler) cannot get close to our apartment. They asked another $300 to rent a smaller truck, my things were move I think more than five times from truck to truck. Again, Joe said it easy that it is impossible for a 18 wheeler to enter the apartment complex. He seldom sees this happen. Actually it is ALWAYS happening!! A 18 wheeler is a huge truck that can't fit any apartment complex. My things are mostly damaged. They promise to wrap tables but they didn't. All my plastic boxes are broken, two are broken to pieces!! They are really unprofessional, cannot keep their words and promises, very impolite and inconsiderate. I feel sorry for them because in their mind there's only money, they have no idea what a good service is. Please don't use their service, because it'll not be a pleasant experience.

I entered into a contract with Nationwide Relocation Services on June 16, 2009 for our move from New Jersey to Florida. A deposit for this service in the amount of $959.66 was charged to my credit card. There was a two day pickup window 6/29/2009-6/30/2009 and a delivery window of seven days 7/2/2009-7/8/2009. Upon speaking with the representative from Nationwide I explained that July 10th was my wedding day in New Jersey and was assured that we would have no trouble receiving our belongings in the time frame stated in our contract. We made our travel plans accordingly and were planning to drive to Florida and fly to New Jersey on July 9th. We were told that we would receive a phone call twenty-four hours prior to our pick up date. July 29th came and finally, after numerous calls to Nationwide inquiring when the movers were coming, we received a response around 9:30 p.m. We were informed that the original company was no longer available and that another company would now be coming between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. At approximately 3:30 p.m. a company by the name of A-Topps arrived. The truck sounded, at best, in need of servicing and when stating concerns that we were unsure of how this truck would make the distance we were told to be rest assured the truck had a new engine and that “it just needed to be broken in.” As the truck was more than half-way packed, we were then told that the contracted dated of delivery would not be honored and that they would be arriving on July 10th, our wedding day. I have several witnesses that are able to verify that the truck was more than half-way packed before being told that our belongings would arrive after the contracted dates, as well as witnessing the driver stating at the start of the move that the contracted dates would be guaranteed. Upon speaking to Nationwide, several times, we were told that this was not their responsibility and that we could either be in Florida at whatever date the movers chose or we could pay for storage to the tune of $1100.00. Upon hearing this information, I told the driver to unload the truck. He stated that he would, for approximately $700 or that they would take our belongings as collateral. We proceeded with this company only due to extortion. As we have no friends or family in the area, we would now have to hire someone in Florida, at our additional expense, to receive our furniture. As this was my first encounter with a moving company for a long-distance move, I can not say that I am familiar with what is standard. However, I would venture to guess that having my mattress wrapped in saran wrap and strapped to the back of the outside of the truck for 1,200 miles would probably not be considered to be the norm. Furthermore, the two gentlemen that could not fit in the cab of the truck were essentially “packed” as cargo. Again, I am no expert, but I find it doubtful that this would meet the standard for this type of service. To add insult to injury, the services provided are based upon weight of the cargo. At the weigh station, neither of these gentlemen removed themselves from the truck. We hired someone to be in Florida to receive our furniture on July 10th. We were promised that disassembly and reassembly of all furniture would be included in the cost of these services. When we arrived in Florida, we found all of our belongings were stacked from floor to ceiling in the living room and nothing reassembled. We understand that the person we hired to be here to receive our furniture did not know where everything went, but I believe it is reasonable that anyone contracted to reassemble furniture would know that legs belong on the table and chairs, mattresses belong with the appropriate frames, etc. To make matters worse, many irreplaceable items were broken and missing. A box containing a sofa cushion folded in half and wrapped in tape with a vacuum cleaner and a now broken lamp seems like a mismatched combination. We were aware that we would pay for items that were packed by the moving company, but found it excessive that many small items were packed individually in a large box, a box we packed in yet another box at an additional cost or as previously stated, packed mismatched and subsequently broken. This would help account for the additional charge of approximately $900.00 in packing supplies.Countless attempts to come to a resolution with Nationwide were made to no avail. Once the deposit was received customer service was no longer an issue on behalf of this company. If the services guaranteed were not able to be performed in the time frame contracted, we would have selected another company. This was, after all, our wedding day and that was made clear. Furthermore, the failure to meet the terms of the contract should have not caused us additional expenses i.e. having to hire someone to receive our furniture in Florida, accepting the offer for $1100.00 in storage fees, paying $700.00 to have the movers unload a more than halfway loaded truck and hiring another company or forfeiting our belongings, to name a few. Again, this is extortion.

I had contracted with Nationwide Relocation Services in January 2008 to move my items from storage in MI to Chicago. Little did I know that they are a company who contracts with local moving companies and they do NOT do their research to find out if the company is reputable or licensed. They contracted with Best Price Moving and Storage in Chicago, IL (who is NOT licensed as the State of IL denied them a license due to shady business practices). In the end, I lost over $800 worth of belongings that the movers, who none of them spoke English so I couldn't communicate with them, lost and stole including my Great Aunt's real silver silverware (I didn't have a chance to get this myself to transport as I had to move suddenly) and my only box of memorabilia from my dad who passed away. The moving company tried to say the weight of my items was 834 pounds more than it was and so I had to go with them to weigh the truck before and after the items were delivered and they owed me $150 back for overcharging. How's that for an honest business???I complained to every agency both federal and state and BBB but no one could do anything. I even got Fox News in Chicago to do a report and they did not get phone calls returned from the company. BEWARE--someone else in their blog commented that Nationwide Relocation Services has several other names and is owned by the same guy and that is the same story of Best Price Moving. The owner, Aaron Adani-owner has closed and re-opened moving companies under different names in different states as a way to avoid people knowing he's a scammer. I have tried to track down this guy online to no avail. His company is staffed by ignorant people who hang up on you when you call, transfer you to no man's land voicemail where no one calls you back, tries to get you to sign off rights to sue if they compensate you for $50 and have no clue how to talk to people. The I was thinking of suing them but lawyers have said it would be hard to prove unless you have pics of everything! WORD TO THE WISE.1. Contract directly with a moving company and use one that is largely known, even if it costs a little more.2. Make sure the mover is licensed.3. Keep track of every item you have and take pictures before moving. If anyone knows this owner, please let me know how to contact him.

A company can only be as good as the subcontractors and my experience with their subcontractor was undesirable. Their subcontractor was grossly tardy with delivery and difficult to tele-communicate with. In the end I would only recommend contracting with the actual moving company you want to physically relocate your belongings.

Hey Stan, I just wanted to send you a note to say thank you for all your assistance in my move from Venice to Boulder. Every step of the way you were so informative, assuring and most importantly attentive. Every time I called or emailed you with a question (and there were many) you were either immediately available or got back to me within minutes, and what’s more you never made me feel like I was being a nuisance to you. The level of customer service you provided was unlike any I have ever received. Thank you so much for all your help and the delightful experience. Rest assured, the next time I hear of someone- friend or stranger-preparing for a move, I will without question, recommend We-Haul Moving Company for the job. Thanks again and have a great Memorial Weekend! All the best, Kimberly Bolick

NEVER NEVER NEVER use this company. I entered into a contract with them MONTHS before my move from Washington DC to Denver. The DAY BEFORE my move I got a call from them saying that a carrier had not picked up my contract and that I didnt have a mover that would be coming to get my stuff. So, there I was in Washington DC with my lease on my apartment about to end in 48 hours with no mover! I was basically told that they would try to find me a mover but that they were closed on Sunday and wouldn't be able to do anything until monday. (my lease ended on Monday at 5:00). and then if they didnt find anyone by Monday then I could cancel my contract with them. HELLO I NEEDED TO BE OUT BEFORE MONDAY AT 5! I ended up finding another mover at the very last moment that was able to come on Monday and get my things but it ended up costing me over 2 times what my contract with this company was for. It was the worst moving exprience of my life and made my last days in Washington horrible and stressful. I planned my move so far in avance to avoid just this problem and wanted to spend my last days in my hometown enjoying myself but instead I was stressed out trying to figure out how I was going to book a mover and come up with thousands... yes thousands more dollars in 2 days! NEVER NEVER NEVER use this company! I wish I would have seen these reviews before I was sucked into what I thought was a good deal.

I had to rate this one star the minimum, but I would rate them negative stars if I could. Do not use this company - it is terrible. Our claim for damaged furniture was denied because they say we signed the receipt that furniture was received without damage. They broke it BEFORE they moved - so we didn't move the piece. This fact was noted, but they ignored that FACT!!!! It was a kitchen hutch (2 picece) they dropped it and broke it in half. They threw furniture, they dropped a ton of rust in our driveway from their truck which also died in the driveway and they had one of our neighbors jump it without my knowledge until after the fact. Of course it was a neighbor we didn't have anything to do with. They did not reassemble furniture per the agreement. This is only part of the troubles we had, but nobody wants to read a book!! This was a nightmare experience. We will be moving again in about a year and I will NEVER use another relocation service. They say they will help you will with claims against the actutal carrier, but they don't. They say it is all confidential and can only contact them to see the status of your claim. The actual carrier used was A& E First Choice Moving Transportation LLC. Very unprofessional!!! BEWARE!!!

We contracted to move from Galveston Tx to NY, NY. When Julian called, he would say it's very low season and there is huge discount. After asking for furniture list, he gave me a quote. I was out of town and didn't know exactly how many stuff we have. Julian said: you can always change. What he didn't tell you is that you can always change with added cost. After paying the deposit (of course they said you can always cancel and get the deposit back) , I read the terrible review right after paying the deposit and wanted to cancel right away. So I called Julian back, he started giving you the Better Business Bureau website and said their rating is AAA..(Never trust that, please ...trust the review from the customers) and promised me he will make our move exceptional. My husband read the review and wanted me to pull back . I had fought with him and told him that he has to trust people. Well, I should have listened to my husband. Due to recent hurricane, our island got hit badly. So our elevator was broken since after hurricane and we lived on 5th floor. I didn't want to take advantage of the movers. So I wrote two emails asking Julian if that's ok. He didn't reply both emails. Three days prior to our move, we called to change/confirm our furniture list since we started packing and know what we have..after telling them our more detailed list. The cost just went up by 1100. They my husband told him again about the elevator situation, Julian slipped out saying that they only cover three flights and anything above that is additional charge. So I sent an email back to Julian and asked him when he didn't tell me that when I sent him two separate emails about the situation. This is his reponse. The additional charge for additional charges is obvious. If your covered up to 3 flights of stairs and Elevator and your elevator happens to break, then obviously you will be charged for 2 steps. Its not our fault that the elevator is broken. There was no way for you to foresee this either, So, this is NOT a Hidden fee, this is an additional service that your move will now need. I do not see what the problem is, When I spoke to your husband and I toon the time to break everything down for him, he was quite pleased. If we go to your home and services are needed to finalize your move then you will be charged. Let me give you some examples to avoid any possible unforeseen situations: 1- ALL TVS MUST BE BOXED 2- ALL DRESSERS MUST BE EMPTIED AND BOXED 3- ALL MATTRESSES MUST BE WRAPPED WITH A MATTRESS PROTECTOR. These services would have been charged for you with any moving company, So there is NO reason to send Emails with threats about complaining to every website about our service, when the move has not even transpired yet. I am sure the move will go absolutely fine, this is not a large move. Thanks Julian R. But saying: unfortunatley, you have to pay the additional labor .. This is really really bad company...please please don't use them.. we don't even know if the people gonna show up and if there is more charges down the road..they basically press you for paying the deposit and getting the papers signed..if you want to know more about how bad the company is, please contact me at meihuichen29@yahoo.com

These people are bad news. Sales reps seem very competent and say all the right things; but actual service departs significantly from their promises. Should you decide to use them (Don't), make sure to get EVERYTHING spelled out clearly in writing that you were promised. Horrible experience overall - delays, lost ~20% of our boxes, tons of damaged goods and no payment on our claim.

Avoid Nationwide like the plague! They are not even a real moving company - they contract out to others and have no control over what happens. Guess I should feel lucky since my guys weren't drunk. :) The service from the company is much better on sale of the product than the service and the performance. This company operates under many different aliases so be careful. The same guy owns them all. Overall, I got my stuff - however the timelines were not what was agreed to in any form. In fairness I compressed my timelines, but still i would have preferred an honest answer.
This company uses a combination of internal and external companies to move you things so it amazes me it gets there period. In my case it was fully outsourced move. The firm originally hired could not make the due date on the contract and yet tried to get me to adjust my date. Never the less they ultimately pulled out of the move. Nationwide was not good about keeping me informed about this. This new movers finally showed up on Saturday when the original movers were supposed to be there Wednesday or Thursday. Things continued at this pace, but they overall moved and inventoried everything well.
Getting to my destination they arrived 3-4 days after we originally agreed. 2 weeks is a long timeOne of the items of which they knew was heavy required more people so they came back 3 days later to deliver that item. Of course it was my bed.
In all honesty remove the "mover broker" from the equation and deal with a mover directly. There is no value add. They will sell you on the fact that their flexibility and everything else, blah, blah - bottom line is they leave you hanging if you're on a tight timeline.
The compensation for my mess is agreed to $150.00 for being jammed up for another 3 days. Barely covers meals / hotels if you're in a relocation. But I figured they got roughly $800 of the fee and the movers made roughly $1800.
Use a direct mover or call the one they used directly. It was called Capital Moving. i'm not plugging them. They were decent. Not the best and not the worst. They just got dealt a bad hand because Nationwide is a chop shop. Other than the lateness of it all it went relative well. 3 stars for Capital. 1 star for Nationwide. Save the $ and call yourself.

Long story short, they showed up drunk at the pickup, then showed up a week late on the delivery - and I had to call the cops on the delivery men because they gave $40 to a random shady guy walking down the street to help them move our stuff in (who was casing our apt) and wouldn't tell him to leave until we called the cops on them. While waiting for our stuff to come, they would tell me, in a span of 30 minutes, that the truck was in Alabama, then in NY, then the stuff was still in their warehouse, then the driver got arrested for not paying child support, then they were stuck in traffic in MD. Customer service reps yelled at me, called me names, and were generally rude. They also lost some of our things. Our compensation from them after reporting them to the BBB and filing a claim for our missing items? $9.

I ditto everything stated below. BEWARE - DO NOT USE! I wished I would have looked this up in the beginning. Lesson learned but what a nightmare of a lesson. They hired an unprofessional moving company. When they arrived I knew I should have turned them away. My estimate was low balled to the point of me paying 3 times as much as the estimate. They did not include the insurance like I asked but was told was included. They are tyring to charge me for boxes not used and I am the one who has to prove the mover did not use dishpack or waredrobe boxes (the mover thinks that if they packed dishes and clothes they used these types of boxes - which happen to be 3x as much as the boxes they did use). The list goes on and to top it off customer service is non-existent. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS.

Beware, they also go by the name United States Van Lines. Ditto as to the other posters here. Lowball bidders just to get you and then forget you.

This is ABSOLUTELY the worst move I have ever had!!! I have moved several times, so I came into this with very reasonable expectations, and yet everything has still fallen way short. It probably has less to do with Nationwide since they are only the middleman. However, they should be responsible for the companies they use. The pickup was horrible- I only have 2 rooms worth of stuff (MOST of which was packed) yet they were there till 12:30 a.m. and in the end, a third grader could have made a more complete inventory list! There was no thought put into the packing. For example, I had to stop a crew member from putting a box of wine glasses directly on the truck. What the hell was he thinking?! It was a small box with pictures of wine glasses all over it! I didn't expect the glasses to be taken out and wrapped, but at least you could put that small box in a larger box. Come on! But no, when I objected, the crew chief just laughed, got defensive, and insisted that I tell him how to do everything. Do I need to tell him how to wipe his @ss as well?! Probably 25% of the loose items that went on the truck didn't have a numbered sticker and weren't on the inventory list until I put them there. Again, the crew leader just kept dismissing my concerns, telling me, "it's fine and that they don't guarantee any of the stickers stay on items". How is it fine? If there's no sticker and it's not on the inventory, that stuff has NO chance of making it across country. Regardless, I expected better customer service after that. I know summer is a busy season, but you'd think they'd want to deliver it. At the very least, I expect people to call me back when they say they will! They said they'd call "at the end of last week". It's Tuesday of the following week. I have left 2 messages. Still nothing. Come on... I'm never getting my stuff, so please don't make the same mistake I did!

I found Nationwide Relocation Services through the Phoenix Yellow Pages. The primary contact person informed me that Nationwide would be contracting with Adrovic First Choice Moving to move my belongings. The furniture was delivered 3 days late. I had no problems contacting the company to see when my late furniture was going to arrive. After it was dropped off they charged me more money than what was on the contract. They insisted that I pay before checking to see if my things were all there. After they had left, I discovered that one of my most valuable belongings was missing. I sent both companies a certified letter letting them know that my armoire was missing. My primary contact at Nationwide told me that nobody in the company knows where it is. The person in claims for Nationwide told me that Adrovic is going to investigate it. I have repeatedly tried getting a hold of Adrovic directly and they will not take my phone calls, and will not pick up the certified letter that I sent from the post office. It has been 5 months since delivery and I still do not have my armoire nor have I heard anything more from either one of companies. Although I do understand that people make mistakes, I also find it hard to believe that the armoire walked off of the truck on its own. Honesty does not seem to be the policy of this company or of those that they contract through.

Worked with Bruce Rodriguez to get a quote. Decided on a small local company because I have family in town and sent him a polite note saying I would go with a local company. He sent me a rude email back stating that I was pretty much an idiot for going with a local company... I'm going to cancel your accounts. Good luck,

DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS MOVING COMPANY!!! First, customer service was horrible; they never let me know what was going on. They kept on telling me that the carrier was going to send a weight ticket so that I payed the exact amount of the weight of my belongings. Then, right before my things arrived they told me that they never weighed my items and that I would just have to pay the full estimated amount. Well, the sales representative that did the estimate told me to go ahead and over estimate everything so that when I got the weight that the cost would be less than the estimate. Second, my belongings didn't arrive until five days after the contract date. Third, they didn't even bring all of my belongings! When my things finally arrived, I realized they had forgotten everything out of my storage closet and everything out of my coat closet, which had two large boxes full of pictures and one full of toys. Fourth, when they packed everything inside, instead of putting the boxes in the rooms they belong, they dumped them all into the front dining room. Fifth, they tried to leave in a hurry without reassembling my bed! My boyfriend had to run outside and tell them to come back and assemble the bed! Then, they had the audacity to ask him for a screwdriver! Sixth, I payed them cash and I was too caught up in trying to get them to assemble the bed that I had forgotten to ask for a reciept (which I shouldn't have had to ask for one anyway). So, when I called Nationwide for compensation they told me that I had already been compensated, that they recieved an invoice from the carrier that I had payed $90 less than the original price. The crooked truck driver pocketed some of my money! They told me that if I didn't have a reciept there was nothing they could do!

I contracted with Nationwide to move my belongings from Pittsburgh, PA to Charlotte, NC. I specifically told them that I could not have them delivered before my closing date. They said "no problem." Then they delivered them the very next day, 11 days prior to my closing and said I would have to find a local storage facility and then hire another mover to move them to my house at a later date. Also my final bill was several hundred dollars more than their "not-to-exceed" cost. When I called them, they said "too bad, you must have misunderstood, there is nothing we can do." Use at your own risk! There is no customer service once they have taken your money.
