I thought that this movie was okay and somewhat entertaining as Saturday evening hokum. However, by the end of it I think most viewers with an IQ bigger than their shoe size  had pretty much figured it out.  I like to get loaded on beer and watch silly crap like "Attack of the Giant Leeches" anyway,  so I have a bit of a soft spot for trash.

Not much of a feel of a 'cult' movie, but like a cult movie it might survive into cult status despite tepid critical reviews. . .I had no idea what the critics were talking about. . ."The Village" was fascinating, well-shot, well-acted, and at the end of the film I found the personal tragadies of each of the 'villagers' quite horrifying indeed. . .a solid cult film. ..

I think this one is on the cult movie of the future list. A bunch of villagers are huddling in their hovels afraid of the bad things in the nearby forest. Then some intrepid youth goes to the outside world to see what is going on.
