Man,sad to say,I have a yearbook in which a student with a disability has a pretty insulting "nickname".That's IN THE YEAR BOOK.

There was definately some stigmas in liking or not liking certain bands, but it wasn't as big a deal as other stuff.

This happened, but not a lot.Our teachers had a lot to do with that.I was in the first really "integrated" class in our school, and we were certainly given the message that racism is wrong. Both ways.

Maybe today it's different, but in my day if gays were smart they stayed in the closet.I'm NOT condoning this, just stating the fact.

I remember racism, gay bashing, & all kinds of Cliques, but I can't think of one instance that anyone was ostracized for their religious beliefs.I went to a very mixed urban public system, too.

Another school story:
I had sort of this 'mini-rivalry' w/this kid named Chris. My friend Carlton had a school parents directory, so we called several houses pretending we were Chris. We called this really hot girl named Melanie, and we got her father, and said that it was Chris and that we were in love w/his daughter. Then we called this kid Mike who was this real asshole, we pretended we were Chris, and we got his father and said something like: 'yeah, this is Chris, and I want to be the shit out of Mike.' We did this w/a couple more houses. The next day was one of the funniest days of my life. People in our first period class were all over Chris. One kid was like 'yo, Chris, you called my house.' Five minutes later, I said, 'yeah, he called my house too.' Anyway, they eventually caught on to me and my friend because I couldn't stop laughing.

I was very guilty of doing this in my Catholic grade school. There was this kid by the last name of Burns who really smelled and had these huge sideburns. We called him 'Burnsy.' I honestly feel bad about it but as I type this review, I'm laughing hysterically.

Usually, yes. But it just so turned out that the most athletic guy (who was just charismatic to turn that into being popular) in our class had some eye problems, so he had worn glasses since kindergarten. When the popular kid has glasses, no one else gets made fun of for having glasses.
