can you substitute buttermilk for regular milk? I love it with regular milk but I would love to use up my buttermilk and don't know if it would work with the cix. Has anyone tried this? Dianne

I have tried this brand, but I make my own mix for baking purposes, and save myself a ton of money doing so.

I always use this mix to make my no cook divinity and usually carry a box over every year from Christmas but failed to do that last Christmas and now when I went to our neighborhood Kroger today it was nowhere to be found. Are they still making it?

I mix it with Burt's Bees Lemon and Vitamin E Almond oil. The Burt's Bees is pretty lemony, but the Simply organic Lemon Flavor adds extra flavor. This is my sweetie's massage oil of choice, and of course, it winds up all over and is very tasty, too! Wonderful stuff! And for just 3.50/2 ounces, it's not expensive. Great stuff!

As far as I know, Ghirardelli offers the cheapest real chocolate on the market. There are certainly more full-flavored chocolatesScharffen Berger Extra Rich Milk Chocolate Bar, 1-Ounce Bars (Pack of 12)in America and a few Europeans, but they are all much more expensive.

I was looking for bulk yeast and this was the first thing that came up. I knew I was going to get a lot of yeast but I didn't really stop to think how much yeast 64oz really is.

Long story short: a lot!

After giving about half of it away I've still got months worth of yeast lurking around my fridge taking up space.

On the plus side 8oz bags are a nice workable amount. Having it packaged up in smaller bits made it easy to give away to friends and makes it easier to store.

Well, yes of course vanilla beans would be even better. But I can't afford them. And this is the next best thing. I went through the 3 jars in no time this summer, making the best vanilla ice cream we ever had. And Oh, the strawberry made with seascape berries. MMmm, good! I bought vanilla paste at Trader Joe's but this is a much superior product in flavor. So I just reordered in time for holiday baking. I have not tried other LorAnn extracts as I usually buy organic. For this great product I make an exception. It delivers the goods to your baked goods and custards.
