Review Icon tappakeg reviewed Heineken in Beer:
This is not the Heineken that I experienced back in the 70's and 80's. I have tried it at restaurants simply because the only offerings were mass-produced American lagers, and found it to be underwhelming. I was recently given a 12 pack of bottles. My brother and I agree; this beer has a strange berry-like nose and aftertaste, completely lacking in hops bite.

Two types, Lager and Pilsner. Comes only in cans. My advise is, make sure this stuff is very cold when you drink it.

Generally I abhor the idea of adding any kind of a mix to beer. A good beer stands up on its own a bad beer should be left on the shelf at the liquor store. But by adding anything to Budweiser you can only improve it - Clamato juice, 7-Up, gravy, motor oil - really you can't go wrong with ANY additive.

Putrid slime. Against my better judgement, I bought one based on a review on here, and not only couldn't finish it, nearly tossed up the little I did manage to choke down. I blame myself, not the other reviewer. I should have known that anything combining the hellish tastes of Budweiser and Clamato was going to be revolting.

Gloriously cheap.

Probably one of the better cheap-ghetto college beers available. . .

On draft, it's probably a solid experience because it might qualify as one of the best cheap beers ever. . .which is like being the lightest kid at Fat Camp. But any beer fan should at least try it on tap.

A Pitts. favorite. . .and these tend to be some of my more favorite people in the country. However-

This beer is a canned headache.  I know this beer has its fans from PA- but I wonder what the hell they put in it- it's just not for me.

Think of it as a light wheat beer and don't expect a craft beer level of pleasure. I could taste the standard Bud Light under the fuller body and pleasant flavors. So if the standard version turns you off, don't bother. I would rather drink this than B.L. anytime. At an alcohol level of about 4% it is definately a "session" beer. It will be interesting to see how this new Bud product is recieved by the regular B.L. drinkers. I am not going to drink a lot of this beer as there are thousands of interesting beers in the world market. But for those occasions when a light beer is needed I would certainly consider this beer on the short list of tolerable American light beers.
