I bought this book several years ago. It cost sixty-five bucks. It wasn't worth sixty-five cents. It was written by John Kenneth Muir. Muir criticised everything and anything about Doctor Who in this book. Now it is John Kenneth Muir's turn to get criticised.
When Tegan decided to stop traveling with the Doctor, she ran out of the building. She then walked back inside of the building to say goodbye. Muir even criticised that. That was stupid.
His book lists every episode of Doctor Who and lists the dates that they were originally aired. But his criticisms get irritating. This was not a good book. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have bought this damn book. I give it a 2 star rating.

It would be easy to just claim this as another triumph for the Swedish master of harnessing the subconscious, who, through her ADHD/asperger-ish way of writing, always gets what she want. I guess she'd say something completely different, if she'd have her say. I'd say this is a simple tale of Malmsten's - or her alter ego's - leaving Finistère, the French village where she has lived for the past seven years. Simple, however, does not mean that this book isn't complex.

Chronicling and nit-picking her way through incidents, anecdotes and people while counting the months, weeks and days up till her moving away from Finistère, and writing about her strenuous, hilarious and interesting battle with a mysterious figure called Madame C on who can write the best erotic novel, Malmsten manages to bring forth a tome of tears, longing for what was once there, is now and of what must be, in the future.

This is a moving collection of words, proving the author's genius, that alone mustn't mean lonely and that you shouldn't ask her any questions.

A simple story, heavily borrowed from other sources, simply told.

For some reason the book has a following of fans that credit it with life changing insight.

Balls.

Its a simple story, simply told.

A well written childrens story, that is the "prequel" to the much better "Lord of the Rings." Not great art, but worth reading.

Good background for the Rings Trilogy. A must read for any Tolkien fan. Hope you brought your thinking cap, 'cause it's not an easy read like some crush-of-the-month romance rag. Serious liturature for the serious reader.

You can't go wrong with the Hobbit.  It's not part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but it'll get you acquainted with Tolkein's worlds and the geography of the shire and beyond.

I REALLY liked this book.

Blue Horizons tells the story of Captain Cook, but in a somewhat atypical way. Author Tony Horowitz traces Captain Cook's journeys - not by reading about them - but by actually going to the places that Cook did. Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Alaska, Tonga, etc - right down to the very spot of Cook's death - a rock on a deserted shore in Hawaii were he was speared by a Hawaiian warrior.

Everywhere he goes, he does his best to get a sense of the impact that Cook had on the cultures and people.

Horowitz is accompanied by his fun loving, hard drinking buddy who adds a bit of humor to the whole thing.

I'm not sure why I liked this book so much. Whether the writing was that good, or whether the story of Captain Cook is just so compelling. But I did, and strongly recommend this book.
