I adore this band. I first became aware of Mark Ballas and Derek Hough through Dancing With the Stars, and then began listening to their original band "Almost Amy", which is now "Ballas Hough Band". I must say I love all of their songs, old and new, and think that they both have wonderful voices. It doesn't hurt that both Derek and Mark (but especially Derek ;)) are extremely attractive and great singers. Sam, Harry and Emily make a wonderful addition to the duo, and together they are a fantastic group. Keep it up!

Bernstein is justly famous for creating some of the most memorable sound-tracks in movie history. His credits include the scores to The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, True Grit, the Gunsmoke TV series, and Ghostbusters, among many others.

But early in his career, he was also associated with legendary turd in the punchbowl Robot Monster.

If you like your acid house served up hot, bubbling and squelchy like grandma used to make it, then look no further than this German duo, best known for the track Acperience 1, which was something of an anthem in the 1990s.

They are recognized virtuosos of the TB303 synthesizer, which is the signature instrument of acid house. Their music has an easy confidence to it. It tends to start with a beguilingly simple riff that begins to twitch under your skin, nothing too flashy - they have time. Then they slowly layer it, make it denser and deeper, taking you with it, until you find yourself reaching a climax where you feel it cannot go any further, and then it glides you over a plateau for a while and you find yourself at a new point, still moving in a slightly changed landscape. Great music for running. Really really good for running. I have run my best times listening to Hardfloor.

Does not the term pop music infer that at least a modicum of popularity is involved.

An abysmally bad merger of Southern Rock and late 70's/ early 80's arena rock. I mean, I can't even begin to describe how terrible they were. My concept of Hell is repeatedly getting to the point where you're about to do it with a chick.... when all of a sudden Sukings taps you on the back and starts praising this wretched band, the chick frowns, gives you the finger, and then she turns into smoke...

I hadn't seen the Skydiggers live in about 10 years when I went to last weekend's show.

I didn't know if I was going to get a golden oldie blast from the past, a night with a vital band who were still playing their hearts out for the fans after 20 years on the road or a fresh approach from a band that has been revived by a couple of new albums after having taken a five year hiatus at the beginning of this decade. Turned out it was 'yes' on all three accounts.

Best show I've seen in a long time and the first show I've been to in a while where most of the crowd danced from the first song to the last.

Jose Gonzalez's music ranges from boring to occasionally mediocre. It makes great background music for film & youtube, but that's about it. I find his songs irritatingly redundant on their own.

Listen for yourself: His song, Heartbeats, is the background music for this video from the Graffiti Research Lab.

Rucker has been quite successful with his recent foray into country music, but unfortunately his solo country stuff doesn't sound that much different from his old Hootie and the Blowfish stuff. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, I'm just not sure it's country.

Supposedly his more pop-like sound isn't even his own fault. According to an interview I saw with him a few months ago, he went into the recording session with a much more country sound, and the record company bigwigs told him it was too country. It's a shame too, because I'd like to know what he sounded like with his own take on country music as opposed to doing it the way the record company people wanted.

At the risk of exposing you to Christmas related material almost a month before anyone should really have to deal with such things, "Christmas in Jail" is probably my favorite song from Asleep at the Wheel, so here you go.

"My Heart Has a History" and "I Do" were pretty good, but Brandt hasn't really done much else of note.
