We have had ample public transportation for years and unemployment is near 10%, so I'de like to know how this helps create jobs?

So doesn't drug dealing and they actually work harder at their job than the typical public employee.

A twenty ton bus versus an eco-friendly coffin? I likes me chances.

All bets are off if your driver is texting...

Five if your route is a straight shot, meaning no transfers.

Zero if you have two, three or more.

Twelve is you consume copious amounts of Xanax, regardless of the route(s) or wait times.

In Boston? Wrong transit system. You'd stand a better chance of striking up a conversation at a deaf social club.

I'm not sure where this item comes from, but where I live, the public transportation system is generally used by people going to and from work and school. It's a well designed utility, that may not be as comfortable and convenient as travelling alone in a luxury automobile but is a decent way to avoid having to do the driving during rush hour. Most of the passengers pass the time by reading, listening to music or talking on their phones. The cost is reasonable and the people are decent ordinary folks, who don't smell bad or bother the other comuters. Admittedly there are some drawbacks in terms of sheduling and routes, depending on your destination.

I do not feel anything should be held against someone because they are developmentally disabled. i have a son who has developmental disabilities and he would not harm a fly. I am way more afraid of things being the other way around. those being the so called regular people who thinks it is okay to harass them. or him. thank goodness he has not faced this so far. but i still worry. i could not let him ride the school bus because the worst monsters in the neighborhood rode the school bus and were not developementally disabled they were just rotten jerks.

do not ride too often but they do not seem to bother anyone. i imagine in the cold weather it is a way to stay warm get around. i would try very hard not to judge them. in this lousy economy it could be me so i do not want to look down on someone who has fallen on hard times.

In my city, the only people that ride the bus are people that have had their drivers liscence revoked or people too poor to own a car. Nobody here rides the bus un less there is no other option. We have more people riding a bike to work than taking the bus.
