I've used Super Tech 2000 synthetic for three years on all three of my vehicles; a '98 Plymouth Grand Voyager with 190K, a '01 PT Cruiser with 2.4l and a 5 speed, and a '06 PT Cruiser convertible with auto and the 2.4l.
After working on cars as a shade tree mechanic for 35 years I have nothing but good things to say about ST. None of the cars burn it, it has made both Cruisers run quieter, and gas mileage has increased by 3 mpg in town (I keep a log). I started using synthetic by trying Mobil 1, and as far as I'm concerned the ST is a better oil, not only for the price, but the valves are markedly quieter with the ST. I've gone from 4 oil changes a year with dino juice to 2 a year with the STsyn. Typically I drive both Cruisers about 7k and the Plymouth around 4k a year. Last year I made the 850 mile run to Orlando 4 times in the convertible and averaged 26 mpg at between 75 and 80 mph! That was 4 mpg better than with dino juice. Didn't burn a drop either. To paraphrase JFK, I don't if it's horse piss it works!

I've been using this oil for 10 years. Started at the advice of a stock car driver.
I first used in a 93 Dodge Dakota w/ a v6 Magnum engine.
Traded at 90,000 miles for a 99 Dakota.
Started using RP in it at 500 miles. Traded it at 120,000.
Made trip from Oklahoma to New York and back, with a trailer load of furniture.
Drove all over upstate NY and into the City 2-3 times. I had to go to Watertown from Utica. to find it up there. It is easier to find now.
Made a trip to Florida with same trailer and drove around Florida from coast to coast.
Traded the truck for a 2004 Ford F150. Dealer would not give me enough, because of mileage.
So I kept the Dodge. Sold it to son-in law, cheap. Drove it back to Oklahoma.
He is still using the truck & RP oil. 145,000 miles.
It NEVER used any oil while I had it. Son-in-law tells me it still doesn't.
I put it in the Ford, 2 days after I bought it. 12,000 miles. I now have 55,000, uses no oil.
So, I put it in my 2008 Harley Davidson Dyna. Bike runs 15% cooler than with other oils.
Not my opinion. HD Mechanic atsted this to me. Runs better, shifts smoother. Just like the Ford.
Would I recommend it? You Bet.
I can't say for other machines, just the ones I have.
I was advised not to use it in my new zero turn mower, no synthetics. I don't.

mower.
Good Luck.

I keep my cars for a long time (70 Olds 442 - 364,000+ miles; '72 Buick Lesabre, 205,000). My current vehicle is a '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee that just reached 275,000 miles on the 4.0L six cylinder engine. I've had this car for about 5 years and I always use SuperTech synthetic 10W-30 oil. I change the oil and the Fram filter at about 9,000 mile intervals. The oil is dirty by this time, but I really just change it because I think that the filter gets a little clogged up if I run it to 10,000. My understanding is that there is no bad synthetic oil, and I refuse to spend $7 or $8 bucks a quart for Mobil 1. Texaco Havoline synthetic was a good deal, but it's not on the shelf at my local auto parts store anymore. I've had good luck with SuperTech so far in my Jeep and our '98 Chrysler minivan, and now that they make a 5W-20 version I will use it in it's replacement, a 2005 Chrysler T&C as well. At 275K miles the Jeep's engine makes no tapping/knocking sounds & starts on the first try every time, even in the extreme New England cold. As long as it's affordable, I will stick with SuperTech synthetic.
Good luck!

Quaker state green bottle is a good product. Use a quality filter (wix, napa, stp) and run this oil for 10,000 miles with filter changes each 4,000 mi.. Draining oil too often causes increased engine wear -a sae study confirms this. If engine has excess wear then use a thicker oil in warm climates.
10w-40 may be a good choice. thicker oil seals a worn engine better with a reduction in oil contamination resulting in a 10,000 mile oil service life.

I recently had a bad experience with a group of Stihl saws and one Homelite after switching to Royal Purple brand 2-cycle oil. I had used it previously on my McCulloch saw with no trouble and on my Echo weed whipper. When I tried using it on my big Homelite saw, the saw seized up. Since it was old, I thought it was just tired. A couple months later, I hired a sawmill to cut a white oak into timber. This tree was 40" in diameter. A friend cut it down and then I had to cut off the branches and split the main trunk which was too large for the sawmill. First, my Stihl 260 quit after 1/2 hour. I thought that maybe the plug fouled out. I then got out my 660 and started splitting the log. Since we were looking for 17' timbers, this was a long split through a big tree. I cut for about 10 minutes and the 660 stalled and would not restart. I went to my other 660 and resumed the cut. After only 5 minutes, that too quit. I took these saws back to the dealer to be looked at. In the mean time, I ended up buying an 880 in order to complete the job. They supplied the first tank of gas. I got through the rest of the tree with no problem. When I went to pick up my saws, the repair man a Weingartz told me that all three had scored the pistons and cylinders because of bad oil. I had been running 25 to 1 Royal Purple oil. This was the air cooled variety. The repairs amounted to just under $2000.00 for these three plus the Homelite that had burned up earlier. I contacted the dealer for Royal Purple. He said to bring in a sample of the fuel. Weingartz gave me a jar of the fuel from the tank of one of the 660s. The people at Royal Purple tested the oil and told me that it was actually more like 20 to 1 but thought that in the handling and transport, some gas may have evaporated. The rep said that the oil was indeed their synthetic oil and that it passed all of their tests. I wanted to know if they were willing to pay for all the damage to my saws. The rep at Royal Purple told me no, the oil met their specifications and so they would not pay for any damage. He did tell me that the oil was the right type for air cooled chain saws and they he had used it extensively in his weed whipper with no trouble. I asked if I had to sue to get satisfaction. He then said that once a law suit was discussed, end of discussion, I would need to talk to their attorney. Since getting the saws back, I have extensively used all of them with no trouble using the Stihl brand oil and cutting big oaks and ash trees. I no longer buy anything from Royal Purple, even though I was buying by the drum at work. The TCW-3 oil in not properly rated in my opinion. It is more suited to water cooled engines or snow mobiles. It cannot take the heat generated by medium to big chainsaws.
