I was a regular patient of Dr. Maffezzoli's for several years. His bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. For example, I was starting to get signs and symptoms of fibromyalgia (1995); but, he was unable to determine what the cause of my pain/stiffness was coming from. I received a book about fibromyalgia from a home health care nurse that worked for the same agency I worked for. She had seen me in a meeting squirming in my chair because I was in so much pain. After a while, she asked me about my symptoms. She then let me borrow a book about fibromyalgia and make a copy for Dr. Maffezzoli. When I gave the copy to him, he looked at the cover and then flung it onto his desk, stating "I don't think this is what you have." I was visiting his office 2-3 times per week because of the pain. When I asked for something for the pain, he stated that he "does not prescribe narcotics." I was very offended. Shortly after this, I was sitting at home and I got a cramp in my foot. All of my toes were holding in an up position. I couldn't put on my shoes. This lasted for about 4 days before I contacted his office and made an appointment. When he saw me, all he did was laugh at my feet and sent me home. I was in a lot of pain...there are other examples I could give, but I think that is sufficient for the rating I have given.
