About CleverElsie - Female
While I'm not nearly as clever as the real Clever Elsie, I AM fond of random musings and thoughtful conversation. Though a little reserved at first, I have an impulsive silly streak known only to my friends. A bit of a dreamer, I aspire to be poet laureate (well, okay, I'd settle for a 100 grand advance on a novel :)), but for now, I'm just the VP of Staring Out Windows. ;) On an average day, you might find me stirring the creative juices, enticing unsuspecting friends to go skating, defending my dahlias from the diabolical spawn of Bambi, forgetting my Russian to have the fun of relearning it, graciously accepting bribery in the form of truffles, chasing miscellaneous Widgets, nicknaming the world, breathing magic into my corner of it, and, when I have a spare moment, getting better acquainted with the Sand Man. I also won't turn my nose up at books, film, music, TV, photography, art, hiking trails, coffee shops, restaurants, local bars, amusement parks, beaches, mountain views, museums, gardens, theaters, NYC, starry skies, backyard porches, previously unexplored locations, animals of all varieties (except possibly reptilian), and natch, that unbeatable standby, friends & family. :) I look forward to yakking about some of the above topics with all of you here. Oh, and I just opened a Cafe Press shop called Gifts From the Sea with some nauseatingly sappy sunset-on-the-beach photo merchandise, but if you like that sort of thing, check out the link below. I just got it up and running and have very few items available, but lots more are on the way, so stay tuned.

Contemporary: Aimee Bender, Andre Dubus (RIP), Dave Eggers, Jonathan Safran Foer, Mary Gordon, Nic Kelman, Nanci Kincaid, Nicole Krauss, Sheila Kohler, Diane Schoemperlen, Alice Sebold, and Amy Tan. To ask me to list them all would be intolerable cruelty. Truly.
