I'm a 35 year old girl from United States
About me: I trust Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. I make no apologies for what I believe, and I have the same rights as everyone else does to speak them. No, I don't claim perfection, and if you actually believe that I do, then that's where you're completely in error. *Bzzzzzzzzzt!*

Now, don't be a turkey! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

@irishgit:

Nope, I'm not an expert on the bicycle issue. I just concentrate on riding it! ;-D

RIA has experts in just about every field (for example, dog food and the Grizz Gang), but there does seem to be a shortage on the bicycle theologians. :-)

@Bride5555:

I don't know whether you're planning to come back or not, but just incase you do, I have found a couple of articles which might give a little bit of insight as to why many women (myself included) do not feel that it's sinful to wear pants. This is not meant as an attempt to change the way you honestly feel, but merely to show you another perspective on the issue. I sincerely hope you find them helpful.

With that, I'll leave you with the suggestion to take a look at Romans 14, the first four verses of which shows that what might be wrong for one person may not be wrong for another, and that people with different convictions should not condemn one another just for viewing things differently. It uses eating meat as an example, but I believe there are many issues that can be applied here... music styles, Bible versions, and this issue at hand.

May God be with you.

I had originally suggested this item for this list because it seems to be a commonly debated issue among Christians. Some women do actually have this as a personal conviction, and that is their choice. But a fair number of them do tend to believe themselves to be "holier than others" because they have that conviction. I, myself, try not to come off that way with my own convictions (but as you all know, wearing dresses only is definitely not one of them).

@irishgit:

As for how my sister and I stand on overalls.... I'm the one who wears them. She just sees nothing wrong with them, but she doesn't wear them as they're not her style. (Yes, we think very differently on a lot of things!)

You hit the nail on the head, Lena, more than you know. Some of the legalists I'm familiar with (when it comes to the no pants for women view) actually do use this as an argument, and it's a pretty weak one. It's one thing for one to have this as their choice or conviction, and quite another to think it's for everyone.

No matter how many or few programs she has been in, I'd say that she has accomplished more than some able-bodied people I know.

Seriously, I think the Sue Thomas program was a pretty decent show, but sadly, that's not what people like these days. If it's not full of filth, then they don't want anything to do with it.

And people think my sister and I are sticks-in-the-mud. Take a look at the first two comments underneath numbah's review. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that women shouldn't wear pants. There is a clear difference between men's pants and women's pants, which was why I asked the person about the sneakers and boots.

Now that was a true example of a legalist, who would view even me as ungodly.

I'm curious.... what do you think of sneakers and boots? Weren't those made for men first?

Yes, and I couldn't have said it better. :-)

Wish that you could come around more often. It's nice to know that there are like-minded people.

How about Rush Limburger? ;-D

I think it's a shame that one cannot see where another one is coming from. And speaking of opinions, the same can be said for you. You're always the first to jump when someone doesn't agree with you, but yet you can never see it.

I can see this is going nowhere, so I'm bowing out.
