When designing a flag it's pretty important to keep it simple so that it can be used in designs quite easily and should not look overcrowded. Using actual graphics such as an AK-47, a hoe and book not only make this flag harder to draw but also makes the red section feel cluttered and needlessly complicated.

Technically this flag should also have been replaced by now (as it has many times before), but we'll have to wait and see if that ever actually happens due to this countries "unrest".

The red and white are a good choice as well as the religious symbolism. Turkey is the gate way to the middle east from Europe and Turkey has been good at staying neutral during most issues dealing with other middle east countries. They have always been fairly cooperative with the U.S. in helping fight terrorism as well. Istanbul I hear is a fascinating city to visit. Those reasons make me like the flag even more.

I've never liked this thing much. Back in the mid-sixties the adoption of a new Canadian flag was a huge debate in Parliament and among the citizenry at large, with the end result that the old red Canadian Ensign with the Union Jack in the first canton was dumped for this. Its not that I hold a deep affection for the old flag, which was a jumbled mess, but this looks like it was created by an advertising agency for a maple syrup producer.

Personally, I've always liked one of the more ironic submissions that went to the Parliamentary Flag committee back when the furore was in full force. Nine beavers in a circle pissing on a frog.

What I like about this flag is not just that it's simple, but it's making a statement that the country is proud to be Muslim and I think being comfortable with your religion is important, especially when they are the only Muslim country in the EU (I think that is still true anyway!). The actual symbol did however originate from the Ottoman Empire and has been adopted by most Muslim countries.

a great place for a gyro or a hot breakfast sandwich. coffee is good and they of course have a nice selection of donuts made fresh every morning. the service is speedy depending on ther size of the line. the best part of all is that this little donut joint is open 24 hours! very convienent when your coming home very late from an evening out on the town!

I have been going to CTU now for 3-mos and so far I have a 4.0. I think I am going to be on the Chancellor's list? I'm not sure how that goes but as far as I know a 4.0 qualifies. Anyways, yes the courses differ from instructor to instructor. Every instructor is different and of course their way of teaching will be too. I had to work my butt off to get to where I am. At one poing I was faltering in ENG Comp and got two C+'s which brought my grade down to a B. I was not happy with that considering I was mainting a 4.0 in Medical Terminology. When I "payed attention", got off my butt and quit being lazy then the grade showed! It's not easy like some people have stated and how can you rate the school when you've only signed on twice and didn't even try to participate? So, far I have learned Power Point, APA style formatting, writing a efficient essay and medical terminology to boot. I'm looking forward to my future classes and I know if things aren't going well then I need to work harder. There is no excuse. The professor's aren't there to fail everyone! I'll post again later as time goes on. Good luck to everyone in whatever you do.
