Double failure, twice
How's that for redundant? Not really. In 2006 we had a new KitchenAid double wall oven installed. It was noisy (fan) and after two technician visits and more than a year later, it was found to have broken glass inside the oven walls. The dealer replaced the original oven (after we contacted the Better Business Bureau). The new oven was just as noisy, if not worse at times. After the second year with this oven it failed to self-clean. The KitchenAid repair people in our area replaced, at our cost, the overheat sensor (this shuts the oven off if it gets too hot). At the very next cleaning the sensor failed again. The oven had been quiet up until then, and we suspect the fan finally failed, causing the oven to overheat during cleaning. Better than burning down the house, I guess. No more KitchenAid ever, we're shopping for a Dacor (our first choice, originally).
