My Dad has one of these from his Mom's side, and it's interesting but not something I'm compelled to do. That being said I've considered taking one of the 23 and me tests; I've been told what my genetic makeup is but it's all been word of mouth. I'm told the test is really affordable and quick to do, though I've been warned that it's just another way for the government to track me. I'm not sure I believe that, but I haven't done it yet so I might be just a little paranoid.

Tail of the Dragon is a windy road alongside Deals Gap, running from Tennessee to North Carolina. It's a very scenic road, a beautiful drive and from what I'm told, an incredible place to ride a motorcycle - but highly dangerous. I heard about it from a guy I grew up with. He been through it many times on his bike, and one of his friends was found dead off the side of a cliff.

There is an quote by the late Buddy Cianci, the former mayor of Providence, which is "Marry your enemies, f*** your friends". He would take some of his biggest rivals and place them in charge of some committee, give them a nice salary and a pension, basically to shut them up. Also he knew that if they were a threat to him they were probably fairly intelligent and capable. Decent strategy; Buddy spent about five years in jail but he was mayor for over 20 years, and was re-elected even after being charged with a felony, and he was close to being elected again after he spent the 5 years in prison.

I'm not sure I'd do it again but I was on a show several years ago. At the time I thought a reality show might be a way to get a jump start as an actor; I see how off-base that thinking was now but I thought it could be a way in. I also saw some big paychecks for the winner on a few of those shows like Survivor. That being said I think the risks outweigh the reward. The novelty has long warn off on these shows so any "celebrity" gained would likely be short lived, although shows like "American's Got Talent" and "American Idol" could jump start a career. The dating show I was in was on CBS at the same time as the Summer Olympics one year, plus the premise didn't seem to go over very well so it was dropped after two episodes. The show featured three women who interviewed about 100 guys and narrowed it down to about 5 or 6 that they'd each like to go out with. I was one of the 5 or 6 for one girl. We had a couple dates in San Francisco and Chicago, and while they were manufactured in a way, what happened on those dates was pretty exclusively our call. There were producers who would ask you questions before and after to maybe get a reaction or a result, but there were no demands or even requests for certain behavior. I'm sure every show is a little different but I don't think reality shows are staged. All being said, it's not likely something I would do again. While little good publicity is going to result from these shows, a lot of bad publicity could result; they are high-pressure situations, I don't think it matters who you are, when you're on camera all day and emotions get high, you might say or do something you would only say or do on your worst day out in the real world. Now that reaction/dialogue is on camera and might get out to the universe, and if it does and it's bad, it might affect your career/relationships etc.
