I have been feeding my Great Dane and Shepard/Chow mix this food for a little over a month now. It came highly recomended by a petsmart employee. Over the past two weeks I have noticed my shepard/chow has very little energy. In the past week both of them vomit daily. There stools seem normal but after doing some research on the food I'm noticing a trend. I just threw out both 40lb bags and sent my husband to the store for their old brand of dog food.

We wanted the best for our Yorkie. When we adopted her, we transitioned her slowly from Eukanuba to Blue Bufalo as it was the best ranked holistic dog food at the store on the day we adopted her. She never had a problem.

Then, I wanted to find something even better for our little Yorkie so I asked around and found out that Innova was the way to go. I started transitioning her from Blue Buffalo to Innova and after the 3rd day she started to develop a terrible diarrhea and stomach ache. It got so bad that she would not sleep at night and had constant accidents in her crate (poor thing). To make this long story short, it took us three weeks (plus visits and calls to the vet) AND to go back to feed her Blue Buffalo to get her back to normal. Now her stool is firm again. On the other hand, I have the feeling that Blue Buffalo is not the best tasting food, but her health is the most important thing for us, so I mix her normal food with a little bit of other healthy foods once or twice a week for a change (teat). She can handle that with no diarrhea.

My dogs love Royal Canin Chihuahua 28 mini dog food. I only gave it four stars out of five because I buy the Chihuha food and the kibble is just too big for my little ones. My Chihuahua's are in the three pound range. I have NEVER come across a twenty pound Chihuahua and that is what it says on the bag... for dogs up to twenty pounds.
PLEASE make the kibble smaller.

yesterday

After feeding our huskies this food for a couple of months, I just happened to be looking closely at the kibble. It contained all kinds of LITTLE HAIRS baked right into the kibble!!! No by-products? Yeah, right. They lie like every other "human grade" dog food company. I'm tired of paying $70.00 a bag for roadkill.

I've switched all three dogs to Halo. Now THAT is high quality. Pricey, but awesome.
