4 Stars - Very good
I'm sorry to see so many negative reviews of this facility. I took them to heart and was weary of my expectations, but everything was well done. Our 8-yr old Golden was at our regular vet all through the day with heavy breathing, weakness, pale color and a very low temp. The vet was able to stabilize him, but he needed observation and possible surgery due to blood found in his abdomen.
Dr. Jacobi and staff treated our dog with care and gave him a very large cage with several blankets to make him feel comfortable. A thorough explanation of our options was provided and having some veterinary work history, she kept the scenario fairly clear. The prognosis was sketchy and needed more testing and stabilizing of our dog prior to being able to operate. No surgery could be performed due to his inability to clot, which would not allow him to make it through surgery. I picked up our dog the next morning and he was able to walk out under his own power. Things were looking up, but he was taken by a disease that we are pretty sure is hemangiosarcoma.
I went by the next morning to return some plasma they gave me if the surgery could be performed. They credited me for the plasma and the Dr. was there to talk to me and console me for our loss. The cost was very high, but how can you tell your children that their dog died because you didn't want to pay the money to get him better. If you have several pets, you might want to think about pet insurance. Otherwise, don't have pets. Hope this helps some of you readers.
