This C.D is a fantastic example of a well rounded, perfect musical work. First song to last song, Steve Hass manages to make the listener travel with him. The musicians are the best in the business, the production is masterful, and the repertoire has something for everyone. Listen to one song, or treat it like a book where you begin at track 1 and end at track 12. Either way, it's a beautiful listen. A great gift for any music lover.

FOR GOTHIC WANNABES, THIS COULD BE THE ULTIMATE DEAL

Hi everybody!
Let's talk frankly, this platter is unworthy the money.Let's face it openly, it's pure shit, made by some Rammstein-rip-offs. Production is almost non existent, as it was recorded live, in my opinion. Vocals are sung like a lame Rammstein copycat, voice volume often overtakes the guitar (has it always that buzzing-cheap flanger sound? anyway ,so annoying), drums and programming are weak, also the synth is sometimes like a midi-toy piano (e.g. in "Schmerz").
I remember listening to this cd with a friend who introduced me to them, it was all an utter laughing our brains off from track one.
It seemed like a Rammstein meet Lacrimosa-cum-Blutengel orgy with no sense of dignity or identity, just jumpin' the "goth-rock/industrial" bandwagon. With no substance or creativity.
I enjoyed myself listening to all the different range of grossy errors, from the harmless "Lieber Gott", maybe the worst german song ever, without a melodic structure or any faintest idea of what a good riff should sound like, and a REALLY bad chorus, to "Rock Me Amadeus" (yeah, the cover of that old Falco wanker's tune), which, after a sleepy 2 minutes intro in which at least the events of (the real thing!!) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's life are accurate, it all fucks up like a idiot i-m-sooo-coool-i'm goooffff-ouughh(and so on...), with silly vocal progression and guitar licks, sounding terribly slow and yet similar to the original one with funny chorus and shitty samples, like in a Christina Aguilera "song"." Aufrecht" starts with a good oscillator effect and synth licks, but it's ruined by a irritating robot voice and drums with absolute no emphasis, and "Schmerz", is also embarassing, 'cos here the band can't even bother to synchronize the patterns and the beat with each other, as in the chorus and final part , where the voice anticipates horribly the rhythmic section.Ouch!! "Winst Du" could make fans of Sopor Aeternus and Kraftwerk get angry, for the main riffs of pipes and electronics strongly resemble both bands, if it wasn't for that trendy stop and go guitar riffs.I'm going smash up something!
Dare I say the worst number, so my 'favourite' one, is probably the unbelievably naive "Goth Music", a track in which Umbra Et Imago admittedly are proud to be a clichè, corporate poseurs, and they enumerate the advantages of being GGGGOOOOOTTHHH..."this is the sound of underground/live the gothic cult be adark star"...stop it,please!!
So embarassingly stupid and self-indulgent, after all, but really, really demential!! ah, by the way "Jahr Und Tag" incorporates also a choir of smack addicted children, in my opinion, because they sing with really fucked up moans and no feeling at all. I don't wanna lose any more time on this masterpiece of charlatanery, avoid it like a mortal plague!!

Oh, come on! It's not that bad. You may have heard it more than you wanted to, but there are so many songs out there that are much worse
