Hey folks. I've never used this product, but my 9 yr old toy poodle has developed chronic pancreatitis. Last summer he had an acute attack that nearly killed him. I hope none of you ever have to see that much blood come out your dog's back-side. He had been eating Innova Evo for many years and although I don't blame the food, it was probably not helping his condition because of the hight fat and protein. Now the vet wants me to put him on Medi-cal Gastro food which has such mixed reviews on the net, but does contain some digestive aids in the ingredients which most non-prescribed foods don't have.
I was considering Holistic Blend as an option to maintain him once he's over this bout. Most reviews I've read think this is quality food, but maybe a bit low on the protein and fat. This could be good for my dog, no? Can anyone give me some advice that have some experience with pancreatitis.

Thanks!

I was asked by Timberwolf to spread the word that they are certainly NOT going out of business! This is a wonderful food and I believe made with the highest quality ingredients and with great care. I have never had any problems with their customer service or their products. My dogs will eat pretty much anything, one of my dogs even ate alfalfa sprouts from my sandwich today! But they go absolutely WILD for Timberwolf! Their favorite and mine (because of the moderate protein content) is the Wilderness Elk formula...I can't think of any other pet food that uses Elk meat.

Every dog is different and some foods work wonderfully for one dog and not so wonderfully for the next dog....but I have had better results feeding Timberwolf than even a balanced RAW diet. I always thought that raw was the best I could do for my dogs, but I am not convinced of this anymore!

You don't always get what you pay for, but with Timberwolf I believe you do!

I would give it the highest mark, especially the new one Regional Red. My 2 beagles have been on Orijen for 2.5 years and were doing really good. Recently I switched from chicken formula to Regional Red and they adore it. Their fur is so soft and just glows, my older dog had sometimes teary eyes, with Regional Red this problem disappeared completely. I like the fact that they have fish and salmon oil added as ingredient. They are very energetic and healthy. I would readily recommend this food to anybody. LL

Taste of the Wild (Roasted Bison) has been the perfect food for my male Boxer. There are a handful of other premium foods that seem to work well, but Taste of the Wild is consistantly palitable. He seems to love the taste. Also, gas, which can be eye-watering from foods like Canidae, is very minimal with TOTW. Stool is firm, so he seems to be digesting it well.

This is just plain bad dog food.I feel bad for the dogs out there that have to eat this stuff. There are a few veggies way down the list, but otherwise mostly corn,by-products,sugar,sorbitol and artificial colors.
