Chase Manhattan Bank 1

I am studying in Paris and I lost my ATM card. I called and canceled it and had them send me a new one. I waited the 7-10 business days that it was supposed to take and it didn't come. I called and asked what was going on and they told me that the person I talked to before hadn't filed the request for a new card. So I request it again. Another 7-10 business days, nothing. I call and do it again. Another week, nothing. I called and requested a new card FOUR TIMES and none of the people put a request through. All the while I'm alone in a foreign country with no way to access my money. Before I was able to have somebody loan me money I had to buy groceries with a bag full of change, and when I told them this they still refused to expedite the shipping of my card!

I tried to complain to the customer service department, only to find THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. There is nobody you can file a complaint to.

The first thing I do when I get back from Paris is to switch to another bank.

Their customer "service" is laughable. You can NEVER get a live person on the line! And if you do, they'll try to send you to someone else. I used to like this bank, but they have obviously gotten too big. I will never work with this bank again!

I HAVE BEEN WITH SOME PRETTY BAD BANKS BEFORE BUT NEVER HAVE I BEEN CHARGED AN "EXTENDED OVERDRAFT FEE" BECAUSE MY ACCOUNT WAS OVERDRAWN MORE THAN 7 DAYS. DOESN'T THAT MAKE IT HARDER TO GET IT IN THE POSITIVE? OTHER THAN THAT THEY HAVE BEEN OKAY I GUESS BUT THAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS...

CHASE BANK IS THE WORST BANK i have been. They are not resonsible and only sit there to snatch the money. Unfortunately i had a vehicle loan and the officers not posted my title for one month. They were just sitting on that and finally they have told me they lost it!!.

I was with Bank One for 6 years and then they became CHASE. Bank One was a decent big bank with only minor problems with the impersonal way it was run.

With CHASE taking over it has changed dramatically and gotten much worse.

When you call customer service for credit card you are likely to talk to someone overseas who has no power to reverse incorrect charges or do anything but explain your statement to you.

I used their online features and have found that there are mistakes made in the system that they will not take responsibility for. In 3 months I have been charged $186 in fees that were due to errors in the online payment system.

When I call a branch to speak to someone in person (also in country) about the problem, I get the national hot-line and an operator far away. When I finally get transferred to a local banker they ask that I come into the branch so that they can be sure that I am using the online features correctly. It shouldn't be that hard. So much for convenience and customer service.

I am changing banks as soon as I can.

The worse bank I ever have known.
I had small account with Chase for 3 years.
Then one day I received single statement covering 9 months stating that all my monies has disappeared in newly introduced inactivity fees and my account is closed. Chase refused to refund monies they took. Never do business with Chase.

their holding my money captive-my atm doesnt work, my online statements arent there for my savings-in fact I was told it was closed twice. Im still trying to close my account, but a lady on the phoone threatened me and said it would send up a rrrred flag if I closed my accounts after such a short time and its "chases money" not mine....I am furious...complained to branch, hoping to get my money soon...funds which are "available" are not "available" and still on hold. This has been the worst banking experience of my life-told them about atm not working and online- still not fixed....tired of the runaround. Looking forward to when Im "allowed" to close account and get "my money"-not chases.

I have had a chase platinum visa since 2000. I pay much more than the minimum every month, and I'm nowhere near the limit. Every year the interest rate goes up. This month they somehow didn't get my online payment. I'm paying off the balance and cancelling the card

I was told by the customer service representative that mail takes 7 to 10 days to process and that is why it took over 5 days to credit my credit card payment of $60. It almost seems like a way to earn some fee income ($15) with a late fee. When I called to complain (I have had this card for over 15 years and have never been late), the answer I received was the 7 to 10 days for mail. What year is it? 1810? I closed the account, which I am sure they could care less. Bye Bye Chase.

I have been with Chase Bank for a little over 5 years now and up until about a month ago, I would have said they are an ok bank until now... I went in to add my fiance to my account. He moved from Minnesota to Texas recently. The rep at Chase Bank told me that someone from Minnesota already had an account with them using my fiance's social security number. The rep asked for my fiance's original SS card, which he provided, and a copy was made. The rep said that something was definitely wrong and would have the Chase Fraud Dept. look into the problem. I was promised a phone call back from the rep at Chase within the next couple of days. I let a week go by before I called back to find out what was going on. I was told I was the one that had to talk to the Fraud dept......so I called the number they gave me......was told by the Fraud dept that I was not allowed to call in to talk to them...that the reps at the branch are the ones who are to work with them to figure out what the problem is. After getting no phone call back, I decided to call the branch manager......I describe again the problem and was promised another phone call back......A few days later, I get a message from the branch manager telling me "We are going to have to continue to "decline" adding your fiance onto your account. I am going to call our client in MN and ask him if this is his correct SS number". (Well duh, if this guy is fraudulently using my fiance's SS number I believe he'll of course state it's the correct number.) In the meantime, I call the MN SS Admin dept. and find out that my fiance is the only one showing with his SS# the way it should be, and was told by them that Chase needed to contact them to confirm this. Soooo, I call another Chase branch to help me and was told that yes, they do have a client with the same SS# but they don't have a phone number to contact this guy.....so therefore there was nothing they could do. I call the other branch manager back and she tells me she has contacted this guy in MN (now how did she do that if there is no number showing in their system) and has not heard back from him. I then tell her I'm filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and am telling them that Chase knows that one of their so-called clients is fraudulently using someone else's SS# and they're doing nothing about it. Needless to say, I have closed my account with them. I would warn everyone, if you ever run in to any kind of problem like this, Chase will do nothing to help you. And I do mean nothing. If it doesn't affect them, they don't care. I have never seen reps for a company be so flippant about something so serious.

They charge you money for their own inability to cash local checks on time! Horrible, blood sucking is a nice way of putting it.

Surprising that Chase hasn't got branches down in the DC-area. I wsa a happy customer when I moved from NYC, but had to abandon them b/c of limited distribution.
