12/18/2005 | They already have a Chess Olympiad. The Soviet Union always used to win them hands down. It's a little more interesting now.
For those who don't think it's a sport, try playing in a tournament. It can be quite physically taxing, which is why the best players stay in physical shape.

10/16/2005 | Sure why not. I'd very much enjoy this as an Olympic sport, the only purely intellectual one. However, I guess the argument could then be made to have every game from checkers to Twister up for medals.
