 | nesher (9) 05/06/2008 | Definitely, needed. And, usually, I bring one or two spare. Even we go for day hikes from the camp, I carry one with me all the time. So, if the enmergency prevents from arriving back to the camp at day time? Better safe than sorry.

 | zuchinibut (36) 05/06/2008 | Its not really camping if its in a location where you don't need your own flashlight or lantern at night. This is definitely something that is needed, unless you are truly roughing it and living solely by campfire.

 | DynaSword11252 (27) 05/05/2008 | Oh yeah, I have a trusted 4Dcell Maglite, a latern I have yet to buy, I do like these battery operated ones, the coleman fuel is ok, just changing out the fuel can be tricky, esp going fishing, you don't want that fuel smell on your hands, while fishing..

 | kamylienne (77) 05/05/2008 | Yeah, pretty useful. Not that you should go tromping around too much at night, but sometimes it's unavoidable.
