Ten days ago I went shopping on-line to find a birthday present for my 6-year-old niece. My first stop, as usual, was Amazon.com, where I found what I thought would be a great gift: a pink Barbie VW Beetle. Turns out Amazon didn't have it, so I decided to try BlueLight.com for the first time ever. My initial experience was great - the Web site is very usable, I found the pink Barbie car right away, and it was in stock. So I ordered it and chose regular shipping, which, according to BlueLight, would get the gift to my niece in 5-7 days. Given that her birthday was a week away, I thought I was safe. Well after a couple of days I checked back at the Web site, and couldn't figure out if the gift had been shipped or not (the on-line order summary said the order had been "Placed," which to me may or may not mean it had also been "Shipped." So I sent an e-mail to BlueLight Customer Care and received an automated reply that said they'd answer my question within 24 hours. Well almost three days later I hadn't heard anything, so I sent another e-mail asking if my order had been shipped. This time they replied the next day, but they didn't answer my question. They just said that after an item is shipped, it takes 5-7 days to get there. I already knew that. So I sent another e-mail to Customer Care, the complaint department, and the CEO. Well after two days the only reply I got was from the CEO, who said he'd have someone look into it. That was a day or two ago, and I haven't heard anything more. Turns out the Barbie car did get to my niece, just one day after her birthday, so at least they did ship it. But based on their inability to help me with a very simple question, despite my repeated attempts, I'll never buy anything from BlueLight again.
