 | loupdebois (0) 06/15/2008 | Swing dance, especially the original forms of East Coast and Lindy Hop, is all about fluidity and communication between partners. Movements are relaxed and springy, and it's all about sharing energy and fun. Check out someone like Peter Strom on YouTube, you'll see what I mean.
I've been dancing for a couple of years, and teaching for a few months now... there's always something new to learn and stuff to hone in my technique, but I had a great time even on the first day.
Remember that it's not all about throwing people around and doing aerials, I haven't even lifted my partner off the ground on the social dance floor... it's about style, improvisation, and getting everyone in on the fun!

 | Scuba22 (0) 02/28/2007 | Embrace the swing revival! This is by far the most fun dance I've ever tried. I've had formal dance training for years and nothing gets me moving quite like Swing music. Who could resist music by the Brain Setzer Orchestra and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies? Just listen to them or go watch people do swing dancing and you'll want to join in.

 | LadyShark4534 (12) 09/18/2003 | I have to agree with CutiePieKandy.
It was a 40's trend and now the 40's are over.
Time for us to move on.

 | magellan (153) 06/13/2001 | Swing Dancing has always struck me as pretentious, trendy, and forced. There is no reason why I should react this way to this dance and react favorably to others - maybe it's that I just don't know how to do it, and have no desire to learn.
