OK Hello everybody!!! the z06 is a 405 hp all performance car. The people saying its overrated and overpriced and crap dont know anything. One question to those people. What country do you come from??? Dont buy any of that foreign mitsu-whatever the hell-bishi. The corvette can beat out any of the cars you idiots mentioned. The corvette z06 accelerates from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed at OVER 170 mph. Not only is this car a great american sports car, but it is the american sports car. USA!!! P.S. The chevette is long gone.!!

This car is seriously overrated and overpriced. For the same price as your LS1 or LT1 Vette, you could pick up a used 93.5-98 MKIV Twin Turbo. Yes I'm talking about a Supra, A supra will beat a Vette in the 1/4 hands down. Maybe an NA Auto might lose to the LS! or LT1, but that's like racing a CRX SI against a Cobra. There's no point to it. As far as a Sports car, I say it is a decent sports car, but it is overpriced, overrated. As far as comparing it to the Supra, it can't handle as good, can't brake as good, doesn't have the acceleration or topend of the MKIV, yet you seem to think it's better just because it's a Domestic. after you buy the Supra, drop $800 into it and your timeslips drop from 13.2 to mid-low 11's. Can a Vette drop that much time for only $800 in all top of the line parts? None of that homemade stuff. I'm sorry but the Vette doesn't deserve to be rated higher than a car that can outperform it in every aspect, except HP rating. With only 320HP and 325ft/lb torque in a 3200lb Body it can still out perform your 345HP LS1 V8, I wonder which car is better?? Take a look around. How many Vettes do you see? Now how many Supra do you see (any year)? Seeing something?? The Supra is a lot harder to find than a Vette which you see 5-6 of every day on your way to work. Please research before you put down other cars. Feel free to visit my post about the Supra on the Supra forum. An American hero and legend, the Corvette continues to be produced. Its by far one of the best vehicles made. The Corvette will hold its value much longer over the Supra. 1995 Supra's can be bought for about $15,000. 1995 Corvette's go for about $30,000. How's that for your import resale value?

How can some people say over priced, underperforming and unreliable? These are the people who sit there and read what snotty magazines like Consumer Reports have to say about it. Those magazines only like rice-burners anyway. If you have ever driven, or even been in, a new Corvette, you will quickly realize it isn't "under-performing", it will have you giggling to yourself as you drive it. The Corvette is the reason cars like the 300ZX, 3000GT, The Toyota Supra, and the Mazda RX7 are no longer in existence. Oustanding car, outstanding value, and that's why it has been around for 40 years.

They get better with age.

I have a friend that just got his 2001 after ordering straight from factory. The wait was worth it. We have taken for a couple of spins and it is like driving a dream. Very nice car. I have had the privledge of driving an 84 for a couple of months years ago, but I think Chevy has out done itself w/ the C5. How can anyone call this a piece of American trash? Do I sense of a bit of jealousy?

only the 68-72 are worth buying...Yes the new Z06 is fast but come on it took em this long to make the C5 style fast enough to keep up with true sports cars.

GM really has something to be proud of with the C5 Corvette and the new F-bodies. Excellent cars for good value.... The quality and feel of the C5 are astounding for a GM. The car looks as good as it performs.

It's faster, better looking, better riding than its older models. Compared to other cars in its class; all this & cost less too!

The C5 Corvette has brought GM into the 21st century performance wise. Outstanding performance in every category- great handling and acceleration, with the perfect mix of superb road feel and smooth, comfortable ride. The finish and quality of these machines is simply outstanding. The styling of these cars is almost unbeatable. Anyone who bashes the C5 Corvette obviously has no idea what they are talking about. This car accomplishes for $40,000 what other cars accomplish for $80,000. An excellent value and an excellent car.

Powered by a 345hp LS1 V8, the C5 Vette is not only a sports car to be reckoned with and an extremely comfortable ride, but an American legend.
