QWEST are liars! We signed up for them because we are students and they promised us a cheaper rate than COX, the company we had. We were promised a low rate if we signed a 2 year contract. The first bill was grossly overinflated, so my fiancee had to spend over an hour on the phone (50 minutes of it on hold) to get them to charge us the rate WE WERE PROMISED! Then guess what? The next bill comes and the same thing happens. Unfortunately we are tied into a 2 year contract. As soon as we are done, we will never renew with them. I will make it my mission in life to tell everyone I know never to use this company. They are absolutely awful! One of the customer service reps acutally told my fiancee that she needed work on her math skills! Interesting, since she is in medical school and he's answering f*cking phones for a living. DO NOT USE QWEST FOR ANYTHING!!!

I recently have been experiencing daily outages on my DSL line. I called for repair and was connected to a call center in the Phillipines! The person who attempted to help me was reading from a script and obviously had no real knowlege of DSL or its repair. His conclusion was that the problem was "OBVIOUSLY" the phoneline. He never asked if I was using the line to speak with him, which I was and it was obvious that the phoneline was intact and without trouble. I gave up discussing my problem with this inept baboon and called again. This time I was greeted by a Phillipine woman who was less adroit than the previous person. I waited until business hours and called the repair center and asked to speak with an American, in the USA, who might have a handle on my problem. I was directed to a gentleman in Idaho who handled the problem, was able to work with me and had a profound understanding of DSL. Needless to say, He had my DSL account in operation within 20 minutes! I feel that my experience with this company and its outsourced "HELP" is inexcusable. This company does not practice it's "Spirit of Service". It is not interested in helping their subscribers, its only interested in the bottom line. If Qwest looked at customer satisfaction, handling time, and other aspects of its service, I'm sure that the American worker is able to attain this end better than outsourcing. I have agreed to thier lifetime low price and have entered into a two year contract. I'm sorry I did. Cable may be slightly more expensive but the company is local and much more responsive to customer needs

Qwest SUCKS - they added someone else's wireless charges to my bill and turned off my service because of it twice, no I am not kidding 2 days in a row!! I don't have nor ever will have a wireless account with Qworst because they SUCK!

qwest is a big pain in the ass, they lie, and then they send you a bill and 2 weeks later send you a dissconnect notice, a week after your bill is due. they need to pull their head outta their ass and realize that some people only get paid once a month, and also since their a million dollar plus buisness you think they could wait at least a month before sending threatining notices about disconection.

Qwest is the worst company on the planet. Their "spirit of service" is FAR from being ACTUAL SERVICE. I have been without Internet for 10 days now due to a billing issue. I called their billing office 8 days ago and paid them. For the last 8 days their tech department has told me that they see I paid but hey cannot turn me on. Their tech support people are incompetent as well. I literally have to argue with them to get them to stop telling me to check wires and reboot the modem. The damn thing was shut off for a billing problem!! I am processing my switch to Orbitel now but I have to see if these fools will turn my system back on at least in the interim. If you have an option other than Qwest, I suggest you use it.

Pathetic lack of service, rude incompetent company. Had them years ago, but quit when they grossly overcharged the rate they promised us. After a few years and moving, decided to give them another try. Big mistake. The Qwest reps were rude and condescending, and almost from the get go decided they had not gotten any better, so decided to cancel service once again. Paid a bill they sent which said it was our "Final Bill for services billed by Qwest". Lo and behold, after paying this bill, we are still getting bills from qwest, taking a threatening tone. We are seriously looking into a lawyer to fight this harrassment and defamation. Will also be contacting the better business bureau and the Attorney General's office to report Qwest. If you have any other options available, please take them and do NOT go with Qwest, for you will regret it, as we have twice.

Do not trust Qwest. They will take your money and procede to keep it taking it. My wife and I got Qwest DSL with the Direct TV bundle plan, and every bill we have got they have overcharged us! We had the basic Direct Tv, yet they kept charging us for over a hundred channels we didn't have. We had the basic Dsl, and they kept charging us for the higher packages. Each bill we got for a period of four months was higher and higher. We called them upon each recieving each bill and they wouldn't even work with us - they kept avoiding the subject and trying to find clever ways to turn are attention elsewhere. After much pressing and waiting, we finally were able to talk to the manager, and we were promised that the overcharges would be dropped and they did apoligize for their mistake. YET, bill after bill, more charges occured for services we weren't even recieving. We kept calling, and kept getting the same shady responses. We had basic direct tv, for $30 a month and dsl for another $30 and the last bill we recieved was around $300 bucks for one month of service! Last bill was two hundred, and we payed it thinking we would get a credit added to our account. Boy, where we wrong! We've recently disconnected our services, and my wife and I are thinking about contacting a lawyer as we suspect more bills will arrive charging us for services we don't even have considering how this company works. Taking this to the law shouldn't be a problem since we have all our reciepts providing proof and other evidence. Oh yeah, once they even called when we had absolutely no HBO and turned it on while we were on the phone to try to convince us that the HBO was a percentage of our charge! The are scamsters, liars, cheats, and greedy. They will try to take every red cent the can get from you. They treat you like you don't any better and try their damnest to decieve you. Stay away from Qwest! It's not worth it!

This site should have negative star ratings. I would say negative 5 stars. Terrible service! I had home phone, wireless and internet through them... I added a second line for my home business, and what did they do? They disconnected the internet and the first phone line when they activated the additional line. It took 2 technicians 4 hours in and around my home to reconnect them. I don't understand how, when it was working fine the day prior. Then, when they fixed the error, I got 4 different bills the next month without the services being bundled. After speaking with the supervisor (and i won't even go into the 45 minute wait to speak to this peorson) they credited me for a month of service. Several problems after that as well. I disconnected my home lines and they added features to my wireless plan without my approval, and when I called about that, the agent said to me, Well you can speak to a supervisor, but they won't reverse the charge like I will. And guess what, they did, because they listened to the tape of my call, and heard me saying "leave everything the same as it is, just disconnect the landlines. What the hell. Threats? I don't take kindly to those, when I spend so much a month on crappy service. I can't wait for 6 more months of my wireless contract and then it's goodbye to the incompetence. It has been terrible, and I'm so glad I have my other services supplied by someone else. I initially went with qwest for a low price, but QUALITY, and professional customer service is something that's worth paying a little extra for.

Terrible! Liars! Classic example of bait and switch. Called to get information about all their services, and to get a static IP... We currently have COX, and are mostly satisfied, but Qwest sounded like they had a much better deal. NOT. Totally rediculous. The sales guy was so tweaked I could hardly understand what he was selling me, and suddenly "yah baby we got what you need" $89 per month bill shot to $178 a month!! He couldn't give me straight answers to any of my questions, and wanted me to just "trust him". Um no. I was going to go with it, after I cut through some of the BS, but (after being on hold on and off for about 45 minutes) I was told that since I do not have a credit history with them, I needed to pay a $55 start up fee. Hmmm. OK, all the bills are in my husband's name, so fine. I was assured that if we decided that we did not want the serive the fee would be refunded. Then, after being on hold another 15 minutes, spaz boy comes back and says "oh, there is something on your credit, so we can't start the service." I then recalled that my identity had been stolen about 5-6 years ago and there was probably still a notation there. So he wanted me to fax them 2 forms of identification. Well forget it! I just said, "That's fine, I'll just have my husband call" The sales guy started sputtering, "but, but, but" And I said, "NO REALLY, I WILL HAVE MY HUSBAND CALL" and I hung up, furious, but relieved because I knew they were trying to screw me. I mean, I was looking at their web page prices when I was talking to him on the phone - "It says $xx.xx for xyz services, why can't I have that?" He responded "Oh, um, well, maybe I don't have the updated specials list, you know they're always changing the specials, sometimes what is on the internet we don't get right away" WHAT????? Well, since I hung up and my husband figured out an alternative way to dial into his overseas meetings, we decided that we did not need any services at all. But wait! We discover that there is a $55.00 charge on our credit card! From *drum roll please* QWEST!!! They chrarged me for..... NOTHING!!! WOW! so you too can call them up and get charged for enjoying a lovely afternoon of talking to a tweaked-out used car sales man pulling all the sales tricks in the book. I just got off the phone with them, and the poor customer service rep was actually very nice, but it took forever for him to remove the charge, because amazingly, they had no record of me. He tried to transfer me to sales, but no one would take my call!! He tried to get help from a supervisor, but the supervisor hung up on him! Finally I suppose he found the only person at Qwest with a brain and was able to complete the refund (which will be posted the next business day) Poor guy. He needs to go work for a company that isn't run by sausages. Oh and Qwest sucks.

Way too expensive and poor service. Customer service manager lies.

I switched to VoIP last year but had problems with call quality since I live in a tiny mountain town. Qwest kept sending me invitations to come back with all these good deals, and duh, I fell for it. I ordered service last week, and they said they were sending a guy out today to connect it. I called this morning and they said the service guy was scheduled for noon. At 2 p.m., I called back, and the gal did some digging. She found out--NO order was ever processed, NO technician would be dispatched, it was ALL LIES. Qwest has to be the all-time worst in customer service, which is why I dumped them to begin with, not to mention outrageous bills. When Qwest goes bankrupt--as it surely will--they will have only themselves to blame.
mofiddly 06/01/2006
quest is the worst, they lie and tell you anything, and do nothing to correct problems, they must hire idiots, because no one corrects the problem, and than the overbill, as soon as my contract is up, i will drop them, do not get service form them if you want to have correct billing or good service, customer service is the worst!
QWESTSUCKS 03/09/2006
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! MANY MISTAKES!!! NOT A SINGLE PERSON ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING!!! IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE IN YOUR AREA, DO NOT GO WITH QWSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bmarie46 02/23/2006
ALL I CAN SAY IS "I AM DONE!" AFTER TWO YEARS OF AGGREVATION, I WILL NEVER USE QWEST AGAIN. NO ONE DOES THEIR JOB AND NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE THE BLAME FOR PROBLEMS AND YOU CAN NEVER GET AN ANSWER TO WHY THEY HAVE THE WORST SERVICE. I AM DONE.......I'M VERY FRUSTRATED!
MariusQelDroma 01/22/2006
Qwest is one of the worst of th Baby Bells as far as customer service is concerned. Have had to argue with second and third-level management just the get hung up on before my issue was even addressed. As for their phone service, I'd have to nerf them again for this simple fact: I live 1 (ONE) block from a Qwest service substation, yet my neighborhood will not certify for DSL for a couple more years at least until they get off their lazy behinds and finally lay fiber. So I get to pay $15.00 more for Cox that is twice as fast at least then DSL (sorta break-even). Now if I can get Cox to properly support those of us who use a router to get the whole house online via the modem....

Qwest of Denver, Colorado has by far had the absolute worst customer service that I have ever encountered in my life. Over the years of being a customer (due to their monopolistic structure resulting in few alternatives), my wife and I tried to pass off a couple bad service experience as being isolated. Unfortunately, these negative experiences turned out to be more common than expected. As a result, we simply and completely dropped their services about six months ago and replaced them with Vonage, Dish TV, and a local microwave Internet service provider. The telecom aspect of our life is so much easier and less expensive now. In short, I would tell anyone to find an alternative option to Qwest in their area. It could potentially save you some headaches and money.
phildo6045 11/10/2005
Qwest is the best carrier I have ever had! Their customer service is aawesome and there is no hold tim at all.I have my local service UNLIMITED long distance including canada, 7MB High-speed interent, 500 minute cell phone plan, and DirecTv with over 125 top channels for only 114.99 a month !!! EVERYHTING I CAN THINK OF and im only paying 114.99 plus tax its AWESOME
zwadmin 09/26/2005
Don't use Qwest. There ARE alternatives! I have broadband at home so I switched to Vonage. It was the best decision I've made this year regarding service providers. To give you an example of how good Vonage is, not only do I get unlimited calls to US and Canada for free but I only pay 24.99/mo. I ordered a second phone line and it was working in less than 5 minutes! I also logged into my Vonage control panel and set up things like call groups and call hunting. These are features that would have taken the retarded customer service reps at Qwest months to set up for me.

If anyone has a brain...please do NOT use Qwest. I signed up for their service and promplty left my apartment. I was charged for 2 and a half months of service when I didn't even make a single phone call. I never received a single bill, and one day got a call from the colelction agency telling me I owed them $90+. After yelling at a representative and yelling at a supervisor they cut my bill in half. I paid it, just because I do not need a ding on my credit rating at the moment. If you like getting rammed in the ass by huge bills, then by all means choose Qwest. If you enjoy tasting the sweet taste of no money in your wallet, then by all means choose Qwest. And if you LOVE punching yourself in the nuts for choosing Qwest...then please punch your sack and choose Qwest. Cause jeez...I could not think of a worse company. Maybe Enron...Maybe...
Aftab Memon 07/18/2005
Qwest sucks. If you want to pay extra and get ripped off sign up.You will continue recieving bills after disconnecting the service and they will send them to collection agency without even sending you a bill. I signed up with VONAGE and saving about 6o $ per month. Leave Qwest as soon as you can!!!!
chase453 12/08/2004
HORRIBLE!! They charged me each month for long distance I never signed up for. I called each month to get them to take it off - they credited my account after about 20 minutes of talking with a supervisor and said that it was cancelled. Well, until I got my next bill at least. Then I would get charged again! I grew tired of calling so I called to cancel my service, only to get hung up on by a representative!!! Outrageous! I called back and cancelled. I hope I never have to deal with these people again. Qwest SUCKS!
scottcha 09/23/2004
Qwest sucks. I continue to receive bills 2 months after I cancelled service. The bill is for erroneous charges, for a service I never had, under a completely different name. They sent my bill (with erroneous charges) to collections after only 12 days, yet they claim that the false charges will take 6-8 weeks to clear up. Avoid qwerst like the plague. Scott
princessangry 12/08/2001
good rates! i pay just 5 cents a min.! Our rate decreases every month or so. I also think the bills are organized better than verizons and at&t's. I liek the fact that they changes thier name to power net besause we had no log distance for a month or so, because we had a HUGE bill that was over $2 grand and we didn't pay it off because it was my older bro calling his freinds in australlia and some to other countries. and casue of that our LD was cut off and we could not go back to qwest. he had to pay some of it off but later, quest changed their name so we went right back to them and that was cool.

was great when it was LCI but went downhill after that.
shan1990om 12/21/2000
Want to be overcharged for long distance? Sign up here! They promised me an international rate of .54 a minute, but then charged me 6.00 a minute! Nice!
hdar558om 10/31/1999
They tell you great things on the commercials but when you call there are too many 'catches'.
