I had sprint for a bit last year. I chose them because of their $34.99 fair and flexible plan. I thought it was an inexpensive plan good for a broke ass college student like myself. Ha! Fair and flexible my ass... I use them for a couple months with no problems, other than crappy coverage in my home town. All of a sudden I get slammed with this $107 fee for PICTURE MESSAGES!! Did I press a wrong button or something?? Did I accidently send pictures that I had saved to my phone? All I know is that I NEVER agreed to buy picture messaging service. There is absolutely nothing in my contract that described that service. And when I refused to pay that $107 (I paid the rest of my bill with no qualms) they shut my phone off! What's worse, they tried to bill me for the service the month they shut it off. I have been disputing it with them ever since. I have had collection agencies call my house. I don't know what I can do. Eventually they stopped calling but I bet they gave me a bad credit report. Does anyone know what I should do?

I have been with Sprint now for EIGHT YEARS!!! And every couple of years when I got tired of getting overcharged by them and the contract date was almost up on my phone they would contact me and offer me the world to get me to stay. Well guess what? The economy is in the shitter and they have become real snakes over the last couple years. You see, according to them, I no longer have one account with a primary phone number on it, I have seven lines, seven accounts, and therefore seven $200 cancellation fees. Are you kidding me? Talk about changing the rules of the game just after halftime. And was I suppose to be aware of this? Who actually reads the mini-novels these companies send you in supplement to your bills. Its bad enough they were ripping me off on some of my lines, but now that they are not being used you want me to pay a $200 cancellation fee to drop them from my bill? I wasn't even going to cancel all my lines, just 3 out of 7 of them. And the Sprint I signed up with used to let me. Any suggestions on what to do? Anyone?

Sprint is absolutely the worst company to have cell phone service with. I waited on hold for 2 hours while the idiots kept transferring me between other idiots. I needed service and unfortunately I could only get the information needed via a phone call to the customer service department. I am switching service to T-Mobile (the customer service reps are much more willing to help and easier to understand.) I can't believe how horrible Sprint is... unreal. I will never recommend Sprint to anyone. Sprint also changed my plan on me without my permission and fought with me when I wanted to change it back. I ended up with a much larger bill (They didn't care, I had to pay it), and I sat on hold for another hour while I waited for the change to take place. Jeez- I had to pay $200 to get rid of them, well worth it if you ask me. Of course, they don't budge on that, but whatever, as long as I never have to talk to "Mary" the Indian girl who claims she is from New York. That's a load of crap, just like everything else that has anything to do with Sprint. If you want to live a happy and fulfilled life, avoid Sprint and their horrible customer service reps, unlawful changes to your account, over-priced packages, and out-of-date phones. PS- Sprint doesn't deserve a star... they deserve a kick in the head.

I would give sprint the worst rating possible...not even one star...first of all they offer you a 30 day money back guarantee....first month free.. a 15% military discount...plus free activation..so how could you go wrong....right?? well 28 days into it my husband and I decide that we arent happy with the service coverage..the new m620 phones (which look really cool but are a pain in the ass to use)we got our first months bill which wasnt free by any means...charged us full rates and the activation fees for our phone...so we called customer service and they said we would get the credits next month...so our first bill that we get one week after we signed up..168.91!! we got them to at least knock off the activation fees for the first month after all we had just spent almost 300 on our phones the week before...it only aggrevated us more..so we went in yesterday to return our 2 phones within the 30 day period..they didnt give us too much hassle until they saw that my husbands phone was scratched...he actually dropped it 2 hours before we went there...BUT we had paid for the insurance on both of the phones because he is especially hard on them..being a soldier and all...so the phone would be covered...wrong again...they said because the phone was scratched not only could we not return it but we couldnt file a claim and give them a new one either...especially if we werent staying with them...and to add salt to the wound they would charge us an additional $200.00 for the full value of the phone...we only paid 100 for his...150 for mine...but since we were cancelling the service and the phone wasnt in NEW condition(it was fully functional btw..just had scratches on the face plate..not even the screen)they wouldnt accept the return...even if we got a new one from them because it wasnt the "original" phone...so now we are stuck with a slightly scratched phone and are having to come up with an extra 200 bucks for them...Id love to not pay them but then it would go on our credit report...so now we are almost 450.00 in the hole for a month of phone usage and a slighty used phone which cant be used with any other carrier...BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!

I wish I was able to give Sprint 0 stars. They have the most unpleasant customer service people, awful phones and there phones roam all the time. I could be standing next to a Sprint tower and it would still roam. They are overpriced and overall a piece of shit company to deal with. Do not get Sprint go with Verizon.
gotohellsprint 05/15/2007
I just switched to sprint because it's "cheaper", and I guess I'm getting what I paid for. Exactly 4 hours ago I got my M1 and the sprint service(I had cingular before this), got home an cant even get three bars in my half basment, not to mention the five minutes it takes to send ONE text message due to all the questions and steps taken by the phone. And I'm pretty sure all sprint phones are the same so no matter what my two bars and my five minute texts will be with me until I get a new service.....I'm sad to say that I am, a dumbass.....

I've had sprint for a couple years now, and I've come to the conclusion its garbage. Over those two years, I've experienced MANY dropped calls, text messages not being sent nor received, and TERRIBLE coverage. All of my friends have either Cingular or Verizon, and in most places I'm on roam and can't do anything, they have excellent service, somewhere between 3-5 bars. I can't tell you how many times my phone calls with my girlfriend have been dropped causing fights because she thought i hung up on her. Extremely frustrating, as you may imagine. I hate Sprint with a passion. I absolutely DO NOT recommend sprint to anybody.

The worst overall experience I have ever had with a wireless provider. I am in a certified coverage area and only get covereage 10% percent of the time. They say they cant do anything about it. I have been a sprint customer for 8 years and they wont even waive the 50 dollars for the insurance replacement of the phone

i had verizon before, i switched to sprint because of the price and service, i'm telling you they are the worst company i ever met, their customer service does no know at all what flying, must of them donsnt know english well, and all of them dont know what the name of there employer is even, and none of them know what their job is, and ofcourse what their company policy is, the bill is always different then is suppose to be, and their service plan is changing every 5 seconds, i spoke to a rep about an issue on my bill it took about an hour till they finnaly got what she need to do, and then she told me everything is fixed, after all i got the new bill nothing is on there, i called up sprint, they told me that the dont see on the account anything that i spoke to someone about this, thats what they are. please watch out stay away from them!!!
ccupit 03/19/2006
sprints customer service is probably as bad as their billing.this month they are trying to say i have accessed almost 300.00 in internet charges when i have not even been on the internet with the phone. they try and tell me the charges are valid but how can you be on the internet when you are asleep with no one else there to go on the internet. software problems or something is causing this or is it just sprint
chemicalsid 03/12/2006
I was with Sprint for 7 years, and frankly they not only have the most pathetic phones ever - I call them phone clones, but they also don't care how long you have been a customer. The existing customer base is totally ignored. So any of you new customers who think you are getting a deal breaker, get Verizon instead. They have a huge customer base, free IN-calling, and some of the best darn phones around. The active sprint user base at our company of 10000+ employees has declined drastically. The Sprint Senior Management really dont have any idea what makes their customers tick.
guerrabonita 03/11/2006
Sprint is the worst company ever!! The calls go straight to message the phone never rings! its absoultly horrible i get over charger for my minutes! I WILL NEVER HAVE SPRINT AGAIN! LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES!!

I LOVE SPRINT!!! I recently switched from cingular (YUCK). Cingulsr's rollover minutes are a scam, if you are rolling over minutes you are paying too much to begin with. Sprint is the opposite, Instead if you go over your minutes you only pay $5 for every 50 minutes! Its great. Sprints coverage is the BEST. Also loving the 6pm Nights and Pcs to Pcs. Recently they also added sprint-to-home, this service lets you call unlimited to your home-phone for only $5! You can't go wrong with SPRINT
sfalconer 07/27/2005
For the short time that I had Sprint long distance they never got the bill right, every month there was a new problem. It never got any better so we canceled and switched to another provider. Since then I have never experienced any like the terrible Sprint service.
kkhh 07/26/2005
Sprint has the worst customer service of any cell phone company and any company for that matter. They billed me incorrectly and I spent half the day trying to get someone to help me. After several attempts someone promised that they would take care of the erroneous bill and it came again today. TERRIBLE CELL PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!
pchach 01/17/2005
I have Sprint PCS cell phone service, well not for long. Terribly expensive and they cut my service off if I don't pay them on the exact date the bill is due, or if i go over my spending limit. I use the cell phone for my small business and sometimes cash flow is low. They are killing me. Stay away.
AdrienneTroy 09/23/2004
sprint is by far the best phone company, and i will never switch to another carrier. they have always been polite in helping me, and are even helping me resolve a dispute with AT&T, which i never used their service, its a long story...but sprint is the best, and if you want HONEST service, go with them.
tara5051 09/09/2004
I have been with Sprint for four years, I can't compare it to other carriers. However, the past year and a half when I upgraded my service they have been overcharging me. They didn't set up my account properly according to Sprint. That I was being charged on nights and weekends, when in fact I have 3000 nights and weekends. When I realized this after seeing an outrageous bill. Sprint said corporate policy is two only go back two months for credit. They owe me way more than two months time. It was going on for longer than that. And now when I am trying to resolve this, they don't seem to want to help me with this situation.
Scorp11 07/13/2004
Unhappy. PCS gets dropped calls all the time. Runaround when phone broke. Pay 4 bucks a month for replacement plan AND hafta pay an additional $35 deductible. Carrier based in Manchester so every call from home to cell is lond distance. Every call from cell to cell on same plane deducts minutes off both. Must obtain super-secret customer retention number to get a decent package deal. Incentives for new customers...nothing for the poor slobs who've been customers for years. Long distance service overcharged. I've had enough. Going to Nextel where all incoming calls are free and no charge to phones on same plan. Plus walkie-talkie feature.

I don't understand why Sprint is rated this high. Sprint PCS customer service is a real problem. I think they train these guys to lie everytime you call them. I get a different story everytime I call them. The only reason I am rating them okay is because the Better Business Bureau was able to contact them and they gave me my money they owed me. I get many dropped calls also but customer service rates no stars. Don't buy the new color or 3g phones they have so many problems. Wait a couple of years on those phones. Just get the 2g phone and the free and clear plan for now. The 2g phones you can use your minutes in your plan and can connect to internet with a laptop. It is only 14.4k modem and real slow but doesn't cost a fortune. The 3g phones go faster but you better have a lot of money if you are going to go on the internet. They charge per kilobyte. Wow!!!!!!That bill sure will be high. It is hard to find this information because Sprint doesn't have that good of trained representatives. But I will be nice a give them an okay rating. Can't believe anyone would give them a higher rating until they get better trained representatives.

Sprint sucks period. PSC sucks, everyhting they have thier dirty fingers on sucks. They practice deceptive marketing, have horrible lying customer service and never admit wrong doing. do yourself a favor and drop this lame company now.
shan1990om 12/21/2000
Anyone who rates sprint > 1 obviously has not used Sprint Long distance for making every type of long distance call, this includes international calling. I was promised a rate of .54 cents a minute international calling, and was charged up to 24.00 a minute. If you are overcharged and they do not refund the charges, be sure to contact your state Public Utilities Commission. Put a stop to overcharging!!! Be proactive! Sprint is a disgrace to the telecomminications industry.
pjraven 10/18/2000
Problem with most long distance carriers is that their industry is so competitive that their customers are often left fending for themselves, so as a consumer it pays to keep yourself as up-to-date as possible with rate changes. Nevertheless, I've found Sprint to be the best at negotiations when getting the best rates. All carriers have their problems, but Sprint has always ended up the winner in both price and customer service.
BooB8589om 07/14/2000
Sprint is terrible. 10 cents a minute with not many plans. The service is not reliable and the customer service is not honest.
SLOS8581om 07/14/2000
Good service at a reasonable price.

I currently use Sprint long distance. The Foncard has decent rates within the United States and is always helpful when I am away from my own phone. The home long distance rates are good as well, competing with the other major companies for long rates. Six cents per minute within California\U.S. and ten cents a minute to Canada are good rates. Plus, I enjoy the fact that I can accumulate frequent flyer miles since Sprint is partners with Northwest Airlines.

I have had Sprint as my long distance carrier twice. They work very well with their customers. I had a problem with my bill for the first month. They are very customer oriented.
ejac8342du 07/09/2000
Sprint is much cheaper then other long distance providers that I have tried.
magellan 07/05/2000
Sprint finally frustrated me enough to switch to AT&T. Sprint is consistent in taking the approach that unless you ask for the low rate package, they don't give it to you. They were charging me about 500% of what I should have been charged for international long distance calls, because I didn't ask for the low rates. Same thing for domestic long distance. Who has time to constantly wait in Customer Service queues to ask for low rates? Not me. All I ask from my long distance provider is that they have a simple rate structure that's easy to understand. Sprint was not getting it done.
Keyk8158om 07/05/2000
Cellular service PCS. Good directory assistance with wide coverage areas, and low rates.
Shas8012om 06/30/2000
Very cheap! Good customer service and easy to use.
SamIAm 04/12/2000
For Long Distance, they are AWFUL...High Rates, poor customer service, confusing billing..Overall, they are the worst. They succeed in ONE area, their annoyng marketing campaigns. The commercials definitely stick in your head (no matter how hard you try to rid yourself of them). I do NOT recommend using Sprint for Long Distance.
Munson 02/13/2000
I don't use them, but I recently changed long distance providers and Sprint seemed to be the most expensive. Maybe, I was missing something.

Sprint has bad customer service skills but better cellular phone rates for travelers
