AT&T must be having a hard time staying in the red this quarter. THey are consistently mis-billing with over charges, saying they never received payments (while I have the cancelled check from my bank), etc., and while doing this, they are threatening with 5 days notice to cut off service if I don't pay the charges that they made up! FYI, I know a corporate communications officer who is in charge of his company's multi-million dollar account with AT&T, and they are doing the same thing to him -- even threatening to cut off the company's service. Not looking good. I've ended all of my personal contracts with them, and urge others to do likewise -- or at least go through your bill with a fine-toothed comb.

Great company, got off to a bad start with those Ericsson phones, but they have changed over to using Nokia as their flagship phones - good choice. Service is great, have never dropped a call and if I have a problem with my phone, it is replaced with no questions asked. I have used some of the other companies - Cellular One, Airtouch, Ameritech and SprintPCS and they just don't compare. Pricing is competitive and hopefully, they will continue to improve. One down point - no wireless web, but that is coming!

While generally reliable, AT&T has a few quirks. On edges of calling areas, service tends to be spotchy and roam appears at random times. One of the better service providers I've had but as always things could be better.

The phone plan is a little bit expensive compared to other phone services, but the reception can improve. Pac Bell has the best reception. AT&T needs to expand coverage.

AT&T service is alright, but they need to expand their service further than it is.

Services work in most areas. The only bad thing is that you can't use www.yourmobile.com with it.

AT&T is a big company, but this doesn't explain the poor service they provided when compared to others. The service charge is high, sound quality is not so good, coverage is limited to the big city, and so on. It should have some improvement or they will be eliminated from this everchanging mobile phone market.

Very good phone service. Nice reception at an affordable price.
moliriks 10/30/2000
You hardly get any reception. You can't hear with all the static and it costs too much for not hearing anything.

AT&T is a large national company providing digital service. Started in large metropolitan areas, they still provide the best coverage. However, AT&T has affiliates in smaller towns such as Cellular One that can provide adequate coverage in small and rural towns. The AT&T digital service can provide caller ID and Internet access, as well as call waiting features and plans that cover long distance anywhere in the states so one never has to worry about long distance charges. A credit check and one year contract may apply, so call a dealer.

I have a mobil phone through AT&T Wireless and I must say that they have awful customer service. Their employees are not trained to know their plans thoroughly, and they are not helpful at solving problems and trying to make customers happy.

I am very happy with the service this company is offering. I am able to pay my bills because they have lower rates. I plan to continue using their services.
araptis 10/12/2000
Their representatives are not very knowledgeable when you call with a problem about your plan.

I have had a wireless phone for nearly 12 years and have tried service with virtually every provider there is(even some who no longer exist), and I have never had better coverage or customer service than with AT&T Wireless Services. I travel all across the US and have experienced very few gaps in their coverage. Sure, some other companies are marginally better on pricing, but you get what you pay for.

The service is overall good. When you call there customer service line, there is not much of a wait. The bad part is that at odd times for about a minute, your service will go out.

The customer service is very helpful with problems. It has reliable business connections but sometimes it is unable to connect.
HXTN8984om 07/24/2000
It has a good service, with no roaming charge, but it does not have a clear sound in the same area for a start. If I get to SFO, the signal weakens or I get no signal at all.

I don't have a mobile phone here, but I have one in Holland. My friend has one with AT&T service, and it doesn't always work the way it should. The quality of sound isn't perfect.

A nice quality of wireless connection. You can find it everywhere, all over the U.S.

By the AT&T long distance phone cards. They are cheap ($.07 minute) and you can recharge them anytime with a credit card. Much better than any long distance service.

Love the one rate, pretty expensive, some dead zones but I love my phone.
sutt3178et 12/15/1999
Though coverage is limited to where I live, the customer service more than made up for that.
davi766om 11/03/1999
There is very poor reception in my home area, which is a densely populated area, about four miles from downtown Atlanta. This often renders the service useless.
rwat762om 11/03/1999
The service in Atlanta isn't very good. If you are looking in this area (or most areas) I would look at Sprint. Their PCS offering uses better technology and seems clearer than AT&T. AT&T does have the best nationwide coverage, however.
