I also had sprint service for a while but everytime my bill came my minutes were always used up and I was billed enourmous amounts of money every month. I hardly used my phone im not one to chat endlessly on a telephone. I would never use your service again, neither would I reccomend you to a family memeber or friend.

This has to be the most horrible, lousy... bot-staffed service I have ever had the misfourtune of dealing with. I'll save the war story for the bottom line- atrocious customer service, repeat billing for payment previously made (with reciept), lousy service on long island. no thanks...

Sprint service has been terrible in two states now. From cut off phone calls and lack of service during evenings free period I get no reception here in Manhattan (NYC). In general, mobile phone service in America is patently terrible and the whole contract thing sucks. Getting charged for receiving a phone call? Charged for SMS messaging? Ridiculous state and local taxes for lack of service... where's my representation? Sorry to get on the soapbox but just wanted to rant before I change phone companies.

many dropped calls- approximately 1 out of every 3 calls, at some point, the call was dropped. Horrible customer service- many occasions where I had to wait at least a half hour before I could talk to someone. Overall, very bad.

I used to be a SprintPCS customer from 1995 to 2003, but one final straw pissed me off enough to drop them like a sack of sh*t. SprintPCS saves three address fields for mailing address, home address, and home-site address for taxes and tariffs. I moved from HI to CA in 1999, and SprintPCS easily handled that moved. I moved from CA to NV in 2001, and mysteriously, I was still paying CA taxes and tariffs - CA has some of the highest mobile taxes and tariffs! In 2002, I moved back to HI and called customer service to get it all straighted out. This is how I found out about the 3rd address field. SprintPCS customer service told me they would credit me with any refund I was due over the 2 year period in which my home-site address was being billed wrong. Welp, it's been over half a year, and I haven't seen no refund yet. I tried to get their current 7pm nights promotion upgraded to my account for free, but the customer service SUPERVISOR was adamant on not giving in; they inisted I had to pay $5 more per month (I was already paying $70/month for their vision plan!) and commit to another 2 more years on a service contract. I told them to shove it up their asses and cancel my account.

This is the absolute biggest con-job company in the industrialized world. They make Enron and Tyco look like a charity organization. Do yourself a favor if your not a costumer and RUN! DO NOT go with this company. Their costumer service reps are clueless. All they are trained to do is sell, sell, sell. They will transfer you to 100 other extensions, and the people at those extensions are more confused then the person that transferred you there. Claire the robot, there's a joke! All # options lead to the same place, an hour of music. On 2 occasions I've had costumer reps tell me they suggest I pay a little MORE then my bill is for, this compensates for any over usage they said. I have never heard of such a thing...never.

If you like to wait for hours on the telephone for a representative of this company, then go for it. If you like to hear nothing but static 90% of the time during your digital phone usage, then go for it! Possibly one of the worst digital phone companies in America ! :(

These jokers won't stay in business long if they continue with their bad decision making. I was a loyal customer for more than 4 years. I've dealt with dropped calls and annoying beeping that I still had messages when, in fact, I had heard and deleted them all. I never wasted my time, to collect credits on all this lost air time and added expense until Sprint calls me (last week) on my mobile to ask me how they were doing. I let them know, and I was pleased (so I thought) with the outcome. I helped them with their survey, they promised me my next bill would be 50% off. My bill arrived and just like your saying to yourself right now-there was no 50% off. In fact, I believed them so much, I didn't worry about going over in minutes-because--Hey! It's 50% off-right? Wrong. I went down their customer service road and was disappointed to say the least. I have switched providers and encourage everyone else who has experienced the same lies and deception to do the same. Consumers have power when they exercise where they spend their dollars...and where they don't.

What a foolish company! The reception i have is horendous! I live in Staten Island, NY one of the boroughs of NYC. In my house, i'm roaming! I cant make a phone call without the call dropping. I now attend Columbia University which is right in the city... I cannot walk across campus w/o the call dropping, and let's not even get into the 30+ dead zones. In my dorm, and in MANY, MANY buildings no reception. i have to literally stick my head out the window to pick up service, and there's really no pt. in the this b/c the call would drop or not even pick up. Why am i paying the stupid company month after month for HORRIBLE SERVICE!? I called them and explain my problem..."Well maam, there must be a building blocked our towers." then why would be put it up there. Of they said try buying a new phone... but this is just another way they can get more of your money... my friends have brand new sprint phone... NO SERVICE! I will be switching as soon as this # portablity is available. For anyone out there that is thinking of a cell phone company... NOT SPRINT... Verizon on the other hand, well thats a different story

I really regret ever getting in bed with Sprint PCS. First they lied and said that in northern Michigan I would have no prob getting signals. WRONG! there are no towers around with them. So anyway I tried to get in touch with them and was given the runaround by rude unfriendly operators who basically said they don't care about my reception problems. Right now I'm just waiting for my contract to end on a phone I can't use. Also they phone has stopped working and had to be replaced. They really suck. BEWARE!

Sprint is disappointing. First, they promised a Samsung i700 Pocket PC phone in their press release of March 03. They never produced the phone by second quarter 03 as promised. In the meantime, another carrier did. I'm sure Sprint now wonders why they lost the revenue. If you look at your last Sprint wireless phone bill, you will see a surcharge for the phone number portability act. The federal government directed that Sprint and other wireless carriers must permit you to transfer your cell phone number to a new carrier after November 03 if you change carriers. Knowing they might lose customers, Sprint fought the law in court, and lost. Now they are making customers finance their unsuccessful litigation! Customer service has gotten better, but it took so long to recognize, acknowledge and and fix the problem they lost many customers in the meantime. I hope the company survives because we need competition to keep prices down and service high for everyone, but I sometimes wonder how the company will fare in the future because of their past actions.

I've heard they have some reception issues in the continental US, but in Hawaii it works great. Remember one thing, reception problems are not always the service providers fault, the phone plays a big part in this also. I've had Sprint for almost four years and have tried many of their different phones. Some worked great, some didn't, and the ones that didn't work were the cheaper models (usually below $200).

I am a flight attendant (domestic USA only) and I have had a Sprint PCS account since 1999 - so I feel well qualified to comment. I have not had any major billing problems, and the customer service seems just fine to me. The problem is one my Sprint phone SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK in my house. But around the USA I have had generally good coverage. The problem is that TEXT message (which I really use and enjoy) simply does NOT work on the new 3G Vision phones. In order to send or receive a text message you have to sign on to some thing and wait and wait and wait. I have owned 4 Sprint phones and let me tell you that the phone DOES make a DIFFERENCE. Stay away from SANSUNG. I have had great luck with Sanyo (2 generations) Hope this helps you. Again to summarize - good solid coverage if you travel to MAJOR cities and towns. Average Customer Service - lousy TEXT and NEXT Generation.

Hey people! Half of the reviews on this site are fake. Look at the ones that are 5 stars-- they read like advertisements. Look at this opening sentence from Caldude below: "With ground breaking technology Sprint PCS has risen to become one of the best cellular providers on the market." What kind of a real person writes a comment like that? It looks like it was taken right from Sprint Advertising copy. If omitted all of the fake reviews that Rate It All allows, Sprint's score would be more like 2 stars. And as a customer, I can tell you that's probably a lot more accurate. Another funny thing is that I looked, but there's no place to rate "Rate It All" on this site. I wanted to say that it's BS that they allow Sprint to post bogus comments, but there's no place to do it. Oh well, you get what you pay for

After four+ years of dealing with Sprint I am calling it quits. I am counting the days left (3.5) until my time is expired with Sprint PCS and it willbe a great relief to be rid of this monster. Total lack of customer support, menu options that drive you wild when you do have needs and you call "Customer Care" (care? you must be kidding...), long waits after you maneuver the menu options, then incompetence of personnel time and time again. Most recently after fours hours of waiting on the phone line trying to get a tangled mess straighetned out due to highly skeptical and untehical dealings by Sprint, I simply had had enough. Bottom line is, they will take you for a ride with all their "contract" agreements and it takes lots of heated arguging before they admit that there was never a contract. Simply put, life is too short for their games. While service as far as phone lines was ok ( I repeat, ONLY OK) the customer service and support is not there. Sprint should be investigated by the authorities for not having customer support. Why is it fair that anyone has to wait long periods of time to get through "Claire," then to a person with a brain. In general, all the cellular phone companies have us right where they want us. If we continue to pay the escalating prices they demand and put up with the lack of service, they will keep giving us the same. For me, I am finding alternative ways to keep in touch as I will not be held hostage by any cellular phone company.

When you sign up with sprint if they tell you that you have a credit limit run!!!! I had a $200 credit limit on my acct. If my bill reached a $100 i would get a call from Sprints RUDE Cust Service and they would ask if i wished to make a payment with them on the phone. I told them I would pay them when i get paid. SPrints Responce was if you dont make a payment with us during the conversation we cant gaurantee you that your service wont be interrupted. Needless to say when my contract ran out with Sprint and they called me about my acct I cancelled service with them the NEXT day.

I have mixed feelings about Sprint PCS. Until a month ago, when I had been using the old Samsung 3500 phone with their service, I was very irritated about the frequency with which it would be "searching for service". When my husband got a Verizon phone, I promised myself I'd drop Sprint and go to Verizon when my contract was up. Then recently, I called customer service to ask when my contract was going to be up and they obviously asked me why I was terminating the contract. So I told then that the signal strength is weak and it fades while I'm talking. I also experienced many dropped calls in the (almost) two years that I've been with them. They suggested that I try a different phone since the one I was using was outdated. So I did. Now, the phone doesn't seem to search for service that often (of course it does so when I travel, because I've turned off the roaming feature) and even when the signal indicator shows one or two bars only, the call is clear. AND they've reversed their policy on charging $3.00 for the *4 call. So, looks like they are doing something about their reputation already. I am not sure whether to stay with them or switch to another provider. Oh yes! An important fact about my coverage: I live in Western New York and drive around quite a bit. Recently drove to Boston. All the way coverage was good. In Boston downtown, coverage was good, but it went into roaming just outside of the city. Verizon coverage was definitely better there, but here's why...Verizon does not have the best network themselves, but since they have agreements with other carriers, they don't charge you for roaming. Strictly speaking, Verizon goes into roaming mode a lot more than Sprint does!

I have recently changed my rating of SprintPCS from a 5 to a 1...now this may sound harsh, but it is deserving. I signed up for Sprint PCS 3 years ago because they had excellent voice quality, great prices, albeit poor coverage. They ALSO did not require you to sign a contract. Now, Sprint PCS is no better than any other provider, in fact they are probably the worst out there. Their coverage sucks...I live in ATLANTA and I can't get one bar of signal in my apartment while all my other friends with cell phones enjoy perfect service. All the things I praised about them before: no contracts, the *4 minute feature, their great support, has now changed. They are a money grubbing company with terrible customer support, and horrible service. There are plenty of better alternatives out there. My phone was stolen and they still charged me a $150 cancellation fee after I'd spent 3 years being a good customer and recommending my friends. That's their appreciation...well, they can just suck my balls...I'm out

By far the worst cell provider ever formed. Poor coverage, non existant service teamed up with service centers that can not negotiate price and do not know the individual phone features. When my phone stopped working, it took repeated calls all the way up to the district manager before anyone told me that they had updated their software and my phone needed upgraded software. Not to mention that they are way over-extended on their network. May I suggest carrier pigeons instead.

1. Inaccurate reporting of minute usage. When dialing *4 to check usage, the total number of minutes used is only an estimate. Customer service is unable to provide detailed and current minute usage reports. The website is even less useful in helping you track and budget minutes. 2. When it is necessary to resolve billing disputes (which it will be) placing a call to customer service will usually require extensive waiting in their phone cue. Depending on the time of day you call, you may also be subject to fees to speak with a "clear paid specialist." Sometimes "Claire" the automated specialist won't even provide any options for you to speak with an actual human. 3. Payment by phone options (depending on method) will charge service and handling fees. If you have a spending limit on your SprintPCS account and can only pay the minimum ammount due to restore service, you must factor in these fees so that your payment does not cause your new balance to excede your spending limit. 4. Overage fees are 40 CENTS A MINUTE!!! Since you will never have a current and accurate report of minute usage, you must be very careful to not excede the number of minutes on your plan. 5. Customer service is NOT available 24/7 as claimed. SprintPCS assumes everyone has access to their website. Phone support is not available at 4:AM should you need it. 6. Be aware that there is a $150 fee to cancel your SprintPCS service. Additionally, if you make changes to your plan or increase/decrease minutes, you are forced to renew your service contract for 1 YEAR from the date of the changes. RUN, don't walk away from SprintPCS. If you're looking for a customer service oriented wireless provider, look elsewhere. There are many other competitively priced plans out there. I can say from experience in dealing with 4 other providers that SprintPCS is the absolute worst. They are soon to replace Time Warner at the top of my list of companies to never do business with again. I have spent countless hours in their phone cue attempting to resolve service interruptions and other issues caused by their own billing system.

Customer service is horrible, and the website is useless. I have been trying to access my account online for over three months. The links don't work half of the time. It takes 2-3 days to receive the password via phone text message, and the password still doesn't work. I have been hung up on and disconnected several times. The bill shows no detail of how I am being charged - no history of phone calls. It is the worst I have ever seen.

Bad Marriage. Oh boy! If you have Sprint PCS service, cancel. It is worth the cancellation fee. If you are considering purchasing one of their plans, run! Do not get involved with Sprint PCS. They are thieves and will rob you, regardless of how well you manage your minutes. I am a college student and I believe this company purposely thrives on our need and vulnerability. I paid $300 + phone bills with Sprint for 6 months; I finally became exhausted with their abuse. I tried getting into contact with them regularly, and was rarely successful. At one time, I was put on hold for an 1-hour and half!!! They hung up on me, while on hold, and refused to credit my account when they made billing errors. The Samsung phone was attractive, but wasn't worth the pain, and humiliation I felt after receiving my invoices. I should also add, Sprint stopped sending me a bill in August. For three months, I had to look up my invoice charges on their website and waste time on my phone checking my account balance. Being involved with Sprint was like being in a terrible Marriage. It was abusive, legally binding, and the honeymoon was over after a week!

sprint pcs provides the most terrible service that i have ever seen in my life. costomer service representative attends you call after a long 30 minutes which speaks volumes about the complaints that they recieve. their system for monitoring actual minutes seem to be outdatred with a good part of your night time minutes counted against the day time usage. You will realise this if you follow your usage on an every day basis. Day time minutes were even added to my account while i was talking over the phone at 10.00 pm. Sprint pcs never accepts their mistakes. Their website itself is deceptively simple with little options provided in it. I want to rate this service as "0". unfortunately there is no zero. so i am giving 1 for them. Good luck!! if you have sprint pcs service. nightmare might strike on any day. be watchful.

Before you do business with Sprint PCS read this. I do not recommend Sprint PCS to anyone. They have terrible service and inadequate support. Their Customer service is a joke, full of rude and unknowledgeable people. Their website is never up long enough to get anything done. I strongly urge you to read my story. I am not a bitter person, and I always try my best to resolve issues in a friendly manner. There is just no winning with Sprint PCS. I signed up with them in 2000 as a personal account, but wound up using it mostly for business reasons. The first year was ok, not spectacular, but up to the standards of most wireless carriers. After that, it was all down hill. As time passed, I stupidly hesitated to change the number after having it for so long, but it got to the point where I couldn’t deal with the issues anymore. The following are a description of these problems. Plan: When I signed up for a Sprint PCS account in 2000, I requested a personal account with a one-year obligation and a Motorola phone. They actually signed me up for a business account with a three-year contract instead. After speaking to a customer service supervisor about the change, she said, and I quote; “we don’t have to inform you of those types of changes.” Coverage: Over the past year, the dropped calls have become increasingly worse. In the last 3 months, I have dropped over 75% of my calls at least once, with the month of September yielding an unheard of, 100+% drop rate. That’s right, every call I made I dropped at least 1 time if not more. On one of several calls to customer service (when I did get through) one rep told me it was an equipment issue and she recommended I change phones, so I did. I purchased a brand new Motorola Timeport with digital display ($299.99), only to experience the same exact problem. Other calls to the customer service circus yielded everything from “that’s not our problem,” to “there’s nothing we can do”, one rep informed me I can receive a $20 credit for dropped calls (my bills averaged $300.00+ a month) and I should be happy with it, all I have to do is dial *2, and follow the automated instructions. Service Centers: One rep told me I needed a software update on my new (3 month old) phone. I was asked to go to my nearest Sprint PCS service center and they would happily do it there. This launched a search throughout New York City and Northern Jersey that consumed more time than I ever imagined. Most service centers didn’t do software updates, and couldn’t tell me which ones did. Other places sent me to stores that had been closed for a while (according to neighboring stores). It wasn’t until I traveled down to south jersey, that I found a pace that did it, but it didn’t help the problem. Disconnection of service: After attempting to resolve issue after issue with no success, I decided to cancel my service. Then, and only then, did the customer service reps try to help me with my problem, and offer possible solutions. After kindly declining and explaining why, I was informed that there was a disconnection fee because of my three-year “business” contract, although my requested one year contract had expired a year ago. I was also informed that I would be billed until the end of my cycle, roughly 20 days away. After speaking to another customer service manager, he said, and I quote; “I’m not telling you that you have to use your phone, but we’re going to bill you anyway.” I was also given a prompt “sorry, that’s the way it is..” and dispatched just as quickly. This confirmed that I had made the right choice by leaving their service. 2 years, more business (I had also purchased 2 additional phones for my family in the beginning) and $300.00 a month was obviously not enough loyalty to not be penalized for leaving their terrible service. I hope my experience will help someone avoid the same problems I had. I am now a Verizon Wireless customer and I couldn’t be happier. A one-year obligation means one- year obligation, and customer service lives up to its name.

I got sprint 6 months ago I signed up for 2000 Min plan $149 after 4 months of BAD service. The phone won't work from my house in a metropolitain city I was told they don't say the phones will work INSIDE. The most of my minutes I used was about 500 in one month. I switched back to AT&T (great customer service). When I called to cancel my service I was told there was a $150 cancelation fee which I knew about but they say the don't prorate so for the 20 minutes I used the phone this month it will be $149 for a total of >>>>>$299<<<<<< to cancel my service with them. There customer service people are rude and don't care what is the right thing to do!

While SprintPCS acknowledges (in January 2001) that is has network problems in Chicago(mainly related to congestion through overselling the product) it continues to heavily market the service in Chicago causing fast busies and calls going directly to voicemail. SprintPCS has excellent pricing plans; however, all the minutes in the world aren't helpful if you can't place or receive calls. Also, I had problems recently when roaming in SprintPCS' corporate hometown of Kansas City.

Sprint PCS beats all of the other mobile phone service providers hands down. I've been using the service for nearly a year now, and never once have I been displeased. I used to use Verizon, and after dealing with their poor customer service and lying sales people, I switched to Sprint. I am on the move a lot from semester to semester, and it's always had service whereever I've needed it. No other service has even come close to the coverage I've needed. The phones used by Sprint are decent, and the plans are excellent. I get 1500 (250 anytime, 1250 W&E)minutes a month for less than $30. My calls are clear, and the service has all the features I want, including voice mail, caller ID, call waiting, etc, all inclusive.

Sprint PCS 1

SprintPCS Customer Service is the worst ever. When I first subscribed with them, it took me a month and several phone calls to get my phone. Of course, they billed me for service while I was waiting that month for my phone, and I had to argue with them to get my money back for that month. Then I got a second phone accidentally, which they billed me for. It took them 6 more weeks and several more phone calls to get me a postage-paid box to return the phone. Good thing I wrote down that tracking number, because it took more time and several ADDITIONAL phone calls to get them to credit my account for the second phone, which was delivered and signed for by them, but which they claimed they never received. By the time the whole ordeal was over, I cancelled my account with them. No big surprise that they wouldn't refund my money for the phone I bought to use with the Sprint Service.

If you are in Cincinnati and live in Clifton, Don't get Sprint. What they won't tell you is that they have no rights to that area, including the University. (The university denied them a permit to build a tower in that area) Coverage is terrible and they blame it on the phone or even the user. A pattern of lies?

Sprint PCS 3

Okay, I have mixed feelings about Sprint PCS. I have had their service for about 3 years and I have bought 3 phones in that time. (One yesterday) My BRAND NEW phone has already dropped 2 calls and I hardly get a signal at my own house! (Dallas area) The phone before was a Nokia 5160 (?) and it failed all of the emissions tests. My phone rang only half the time someone was calling me. and my voicemails showed up sometimes a day later. Customer service said that Nokia phones do not work well with their service, which is why they don't sell them anymore. My phone was under warranty and they said they would replace it with a phone of THEIR choice. when asking about a model that I would like, and paying the difference, they said I had to pay full price. After endless hours on hold with customer service. they finally agreed to credit my account for $75.00 so I could purchase a new phone. But this credit did not go for the purchase, only for my bill... I also have had rebates.. good luck getting those. I think I finally received my rebate after 8 months and 4 phone calls to their crappy customer service dept. I'd rather watch paint dry than talk to some of these people...BUT.. the plans they have work best with my needs, which is why i haven't brought myself to cancel. Dropped calls happen occasionally, but not enough for me to throw my phone thru their store's window.. Anyone with good service.. please fill us ALL in!

Good clarity. Low rates and no contracts. A little patchy on top of hills.

Good idea for shared minutes with two phones. Bad signal in Fremont. Bad service. You can't ever get a signal. Get cut off too much. Not as quality as Cell One.

Sprint has a very good concept of not forcing their customers to sign up for one year contracts. They are very versatile because they completely operate on a digital infrastructure, yet they allow a wide range of analog (roaming) service. For people that travel, this service is very good. You can travel to a different state and city and that becomes your local calling area, and hence you do not have to pay long distance charges.

It does not work in most areas. If you are stranded in a mall you won't be able to use it. I know, it happened to me!

Sprint PCS is a good mobile phone carrier because it offers free long distance and free roaming. The only thing that sucks about it is it does not cover every area if you do not have a true-band phone. They need to expand their service area.
