This is one of the best digital phones on the market. I love the wireless options I can check while away from home. Especially because I'm in a private business, and I can check my stocks within two minutes thanks to my wireless StarTAC.

A very good phone to have. Everyone wanted to have one of these. They remind you of the Star Trek phones.

My dad has one and it works wonderfully. It's really cool to be able to call someone from anywhere in the world, and the phone will work reliably.

This phone is also a good phone, but does not offer as many features as the Nokia 6100. One good thing about this phone is that its antenna pulls out and away from your head.

This is a very good phone which is light and easy to use. One of the bad parts is that the battery life is not long enough. The phone has a side holder which is very convienient. It has a vibrator for silent use. It also has a light that constantly blinks green if you have a good connection, yellow if you are roaming, and red is no service.

The StarTAC is small and easy to carry. Battery time is relatively short though. It has many great features, but they aren't very staight forward. Overall, the phone is great for use, but could be more user friendly.

Lots of mechanical problems. The memory card was continuosly disconnected due to poor manufacturing.

The digital Startac has one of the best receptions. Also, its design was tested by 60 minutes, and showed to have one of the lowest absorbtion rates of the wave signals produced by cell phones. Overall a great phone. The flip design protects the screen and buttons from damage. The only downfall is the short battery life.

This phone is tiny, and that's the only good thing about it. It doesn't get very good reception and the options for sound include only one option! There is no silence option...you just have to turn off the phone completely, and that's annoying because you don't know who tried calling.

I am a Star Tac owner and very proud of it. Excellent phone with various options. Compact and sturdy phone and depending on service, digital and analog range is excellent. Some phones include e-mail, time, date, and various storage options. If I cared for it, the only thing missing are game options.

Motorola has an excellent reputation for making great products. I bought this phone mainly because of the name but also it's one of the few mobile phones out there that actually reach from your ear to your mouth. It seems that only the flip phones can do this, all others only reach the middle of your cheek. It's shaped to conform closer to your face than most phones. The last time I checked my mouth was in front of my face NOT on the side. This phone has so many features, and such good call options that I can get a call in the middle of the desert and during prime time rush hour in Manhattan. It's effectiveness is considerably affected by which service you sign on for also, so I would suggest getting a good service to go with a great phone.

Small to carry. Good price, and lasts longer than most phones. You can lock it up with any company you like, and the phone offers a popular brand name.

This phone is too small and there is not enough time to talk with its poor battery life. It also has bad reception.

Good phone! I have one and it works great. Motorola makes great products. It also depends on the server that makes a phone work great. Good price for a good phone.

This cell phone is very clear. It is small and you can keep it in your pocket. The option I like is the vibrate vs. ring. It holds 100 #'s.

The Motorola StarTac is a good model, with a lightweight case, but it is not sturdy. The buttonpad is easy to use and straightforward. Though the above is true, the menu is hard to use, and is better suited for somebody with more time to fiddle around with specifics. Other than this setback, it is a good cell phone.

The phone is small, so you can carry it anywhere you go. It just fits in your pant pocket. The digital phones have all the options that other phones have. It is very easy to use. The model of the style of the phone is cute, but it's not feminine, so both sexes can use it. Also, it has a vibrating function that other phones don't. There is an extra battery clip for longer use.

This is a great phone with excellent features and great size. It needs a longer battery life.

This is a small, lightweight phone. It comes with a holster and a stylish design. It is easy to find names in the phonebook. The only drawback is the battery life.
jazz7039om 05/31/2000
The size makes it very attractive because it is so compact. It has very clear reception too.

I don't care for this phone too much. It's very difficult to understand the phone. With some other phones, you can figure them out without even looking at the directions. You cannot do that with this phone. For example, the #2 button is also a function for the main menu. How do you push the #2 button on the main menu, without the #2 popping on the screen. It is so small and so light that it feels funny holding it. It is easy to break, especially the antenna, and it is too expensive.
lyne7028om 05/31/2000
The startac phone has really bad reception. The ear piece is always in need of repair. It is very difficult to operate. The phone is very costly and not worth the money.

This phone is alright, but sometimes I have problems reaching people on it because the calls don't always go through.

I liked this phone. Although I have to say I liked the Sony Z phone (PCS) better because of the sound quality but the StarTac was great too although more costly as well. What I really liked though was the size and weight. A mobile phone is best when you hardly notice you have one.

An impressive phone. Very small and light, good sound quality, and the newer digital models have good battery life.
stac1327om 11/18/1999
In general, a great phone. Has easy one-touch features like an address book, caller ID, etc. Bad points: you have to type a password to get voice mail--who can stare at the keypad, type in a code, and not run into the car in front of them at the same time? Also, battery develops a memory fairly quickly...I bought mine in July '99 and used to be able to go 3 days without recharge. Now, by Nov., I can only go a day and a half. And the batteries are expensive!
