We bought a GE profile dishwasher for our new home. It doesn't get the dishes clean. And, the things that hold up the dishes are too short, so the dishes fall over. Can't wait for it to break so we can get a different brand. Judging from the experience of our neighbors and problems with other GE appliances, it should be any minute now.

This may be the wrong section for this review being that my GE dishwasher is nearly thirty Eight years old. No kidding. I have a GE dishwasher that was built in to the house my grandparents bought new nearly thirty eight years ago. This dishwasher is still going strong and does a great job. The only downside is that with the age of the unit, the money savings features and no pre-rinse features that are available now, were not available then. But I have to give this machine credit where credit is due. If it broke today, I would probably replace it with another GE and hope the new one lasted as long as this one has.

GE Triton Profile. Unit#: GSD5130DWW: Purchase date: 3/19/00 Date of unit demise: 1/19/03 I have NOT received the service from this unit as would be expected with a $400.00 appliance purchase. The unit tends to skip the draining cycle and will leave dirty water in the catch basin. This is due to a malfunctioning electronic board. Estimated cost to replace: $300.00 Additionally, the wheels on the lower tray are poorly designed. They are constantly coming loose and falling off which causes a loaded tray to be difficult to extract. I will NOT purchase another one.

Regarding Model GSD680X-68WW - junk, in my opinion. It went out after only 4 years. I've had several that have lasted at least double that. The water pump leaked All Over.

My comments apply to the GE Triton Tri-Clean dishwasher. Overall, it works pretty well. It is easy to load , easy to operate, and it pretty quiet, except for some clunking and humming between cycles. When washing, it is very quiet. It is no problem running it while talking on the phone. It has 5 cycle choices (Pots/Pans, Normal, Short Wash, China, and Rinse only), and does feature High temperature wash and rinse, although I don't feel it makes much of a difference. Overall cleaning is ok, but the normal ycle does not usually get the toughest pots/pans entirely clean, and sometimes it leaves a plate a little dirty. The high temperature drying does not work well, have a towel handy. The drying can be turned off, which is what I do. Compared to an older Maytag I had before this washer is quieter and more convenient, but is not as good with respect to really dirty loads and drying
