Alan Keyes---the only black member of the KKK (and that is a JOKE, so don't kill me for it!). I cannot STAND this, this organism! So he thinks he can be president someday, huh? Yeah, and someday, I could convert to Christianity! GIVE ME A BREAK! He should donate his brain to my science class, we're looking for one that would fit on a microscope slide! He thinks blacks should get the best of everything! Yeah, Alan Cheese, I'll give you reparations. Don't know what good it would do your ancestors, they are the ones who would have deserved it, not you, but I'll go put it at their graves anyway. Get the point? Not going to happen! This crazy organism (I won't call him a man, cause he's only about 1/8 human) should be in a MADHOUSE alongside of DUMBYA! Take care, everyone.

Alan Keyes is one of the most articulate and passionate people on this earth. My only advice to him would be to be more leary of sounding too angry too often. His message is intellectually and morally sound, but his genuine enthusiasm for his point is often mistaken by the feeling that we are being lectured at, instead of being given, and allowed to absorb, his words of wisdom.

Self righteous, fascist scumbag; paid himself $100,000 a year salary out of campaign contributions and left his campaign in thousands of dollars in default. Once said that if elected the law of god would come before the constitution. Someone who should run for election in an oppresive woman hating country like Afganistan.

Keyes is America's greatest orator and the most dedicated to values needed in American government. We need him to be President! However, if he is ever to have any realistic chance to make a real difference in our government, he must pick a congressional district currently occupied by a vulnerable democrat and defeat him in the election even if he has to get situated in another state. Keyes must establish a beachhead in congress and then scratch his way to the top. This is a big dream, but hey, I'm a dreamer! After congress, his big break could be VP, although he would probably have to teamed up with a more "moderate" Republican. Of course, if he got that far he could go all the way.

I promised myself I'd never do this, but I wind up doing it anyway now... a rebuttal to the most moronic Rate It All reviewer I have ever seen, patriotsvoice. "Well gee, since Hitler was Catholic, and Hitler was evil, then ALL Catholics must be evil!" Let me use that reasoning on other things now... Since Hitler was a German, all Germans must be evil! Gotcha'! Since Hitler was a man, then all MEN must be evil! Oooh! Oooh! Since Hitler's first name starts with an "A", ALL people whose name starts with an "A" must be evil! Don't stop me, I'm on a roll here! One more thing, I'd LOVE to know how the rhythm method of birth control is actually a baby killing machine. Now... I got all that out. May I hope to never do this again.

ALAN KEYES IS ANOTHER HITLER...I have read all 30 or 40 of reader's comments on Alan Keyes, and I must say I find them not very intelligent or throughtful at all. I have been a Conservative Republican Born Again Christian all my life, and have worked for all GOP candidates over the years. One thing I have learned is you have to separate the things a person SAYS from the things they DO or are likely to do. A man's integrity and character are much more important than merely where he SAYS he stands on this or that issue. Alan Keyes is first and formost a fanatical extremist cult member of that most cultic of all churches, the Roman Catholic one. He is decieving the American people, big time, by his dishonesty about why he is running for President. He is a Catholic troublemaker trying to destablize and destory this nation. That is why he is running. Now, I agree with a lot of what he says, and what Gordon Liddy says also, but I wouldn't trust either man to run my business or even to be a good neighbor. They are both semi insane Wackos. Add Buchanan to this long list of Catholic Wackos out for power for the Pope. Both are sort of mentally unbalanced. I don't mean in the positions they take so much as in their character. The are dangerous psychopathic nuts who walk around like deranged people with live grenades in their pockets with the pins pulled. It is what is called the Catholic sickness. If Alan Keyes was other than a destroyer he would have pulled out of the primary race and endorsed Bush BEFORE the South Carolina Primary to block that other psychopath, McCain. That is what he would have done had he loved America or the Republican Party. But no! He reminds me of another Catholic we all knew recently by the name of Hitler. Keyes and the Pope kill more babies with the Pope's own recommended baby killing method called "The Rhythm Method" than all the abortions in the world 5 times over. What hypocrites.... My God what hypocrites....Hell is not hot enough for either one of them.

While I disagree with Alan Keyes on many issues, I feel that he is an intelligent man my fellow African-Americans should listen to. I read his book and find his mastery of the facts interesting. He could be a major player in the republican party if he was white. Mr. Keyes rejection by a majority white constituency that shares his conservative views shows that America is far from being a color-blind society. It also shows that that the program developed by the Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon administrations known as Affirmative Action is still very much needed. It is ironic, that Mr. Keyes is rejected by his fellow White Conservatives for political office because of his color still opposes Affirmative Action.

I didn't know too much about Alan Keyes until I heard him speak on televsion several months ago. I ran downstairs to tell my husband that I had just been inspired by this incredibly articulate and intelligient black man! I wasws thinking that he would make such a wonderful president- he is so gifted, so confident, so inspiring. I am eager to hear him and read about him and support him in any way I can if he runs again for political office. In the meantime, I am very happy with our new president- I think he is doing a great job!

Mr. Keyes needs no acclaim from me. He is certainly self-sufficient. My opinion of Alan Keyes, based upon the times I've met him personally and the multiple times I've heard him or watched him is that he has the answers that America will be looking for sooner or later. He uses logic to back up his assertions and isn't bleeding sentiment. I believe that in the months and years to come, Mr. Keyes will be listened to more intently because the nation will need no-nonsense answers to critical questions. We couldn't do better than Alan Keyes. I, along with people like me, will continue to pray for Alan Keyes, his campaign, and this nation. I pray that we as a people will have the moral courage to stand up for the oppressed and speak against tyranny.

A quisling and a sellout. As a white voter (and a born-again Christian, I might add, in the face of the furious Bible-thumping from the right), I have infinitely more respect for Maxine Waters and Jesse Jackson and do not in the least feel threatened by their long-term, proud and vigorous advocacy for African-Americans and for all of the oppressed. Keyes, Watts, Powell and all of their ilk -- front-men for the Republican enemies of the people -- are disgusting to me.

Putting Mr Keyes and Mr Clinton side by side is like a representation of good and evil. More practically, however, the clout of the two individuals is similar to David and Goliath. I am a white man who has neithr cultivated or avoided the companionship of black men. I have lived most of my lift as one in pursuit of a reasonable share of the American Pie, and have worked two jobs most of the time to get that share. Only when I was forced by disabilities to stop and look beyond myself and family, did the world around me come into focus. One of the greatest disapointments in my life did occur while I was stil active. We had a local radio talk show, that was hosted by a resident black citizen, that aired for a few hours every Saturday morn. Listening to that show, for more than a year, and the commentary of the local folk, most of whom understandably were black men and women, I was enormously impressed by the discussions taking place. We had young and elder callers who consistently spoke of helping each other, and themselves, by the kinds of cummunity activivism which other minority groups in our history have successfully employed to stand up for their rights and ability to participate in our culture. I was proud enough that I recommended the program to my friends. The time interval of my appreciation of the talk show, can be dated by the following incident. Mr Farrakan began to tout the million man march. Although he spoke of black brother and sisterhood, and proposed unity and efforts to help each other, he also proposed to fight for a $!0,000 (or was it $100,000?) reparation payment from the government to each black man, woman, and child, PLUS some outlandish notion that the U S need buy the Blacks their own country. He obviously knew who would lead the country. Mentioning, but not to dwell on Farrakan, is precursor to the following: Listening to the same talk show for probably five weeks after the proposal for the million man march, I heard caller after caller, and contributions by the host, that focused on the notion of reparation money to each black citizen. Suddenly, people who were of the mindset to help themselves, fell victim to this defeatist concept of being victimized, and worse, the reinforcement of the idea they could not do it themselves. This attitude of many Blacks is not inherent in their makeup. A black man can stand up and work side by side in equaity with any man. The failure to do so can directly be traced to most, and of course not all, of their leaders. Those leaders should be exposed for what they have been, power and wealth-hungry, self-centered, political demigods. For instance, there were no Black Leader who insisted that black children should be educated when our schools were integrated. The efforts were directed to the establishment of a political power, and the shameful way it was implemented has resulted in the dumbing down of at least one generation of American kids. There are far too many related issues to even touch on in a short commentary, but the conditions in America are the reason that I believe that a well-educated, eliterate, statesman like Alan Keyes, a man of color himself, is a valuable asset to our country. Would I have voted or him had he got past the primaries? The answer is 'NO". I would LIKE to feel free to vote for him, but the numbers do not justify it, because our two major party system has thus far made it imposible for a third party candidate to wim. Mr Keyes has my respect and encouragement nevertheless. The way I see his current primary role is to direct all of his efforts to reaching out to black citizens, to infuse in them an understanding of their individuality, individuals who can aad should think of and for themselves. BTW: This email is on top of commentary by other respondents. Visible below this box is the comment on 3/18 which states "He is the only honest Republican in the bunch." Just let me add a reply. It is the corruption and dishonesty of the Democratic Party that is the factor causing me to admit I would not vote for the 'best man' in our recent elections. That man was, of course, Alan Keyes.

Can there be any question but that, if the Media were actually doing the job under which they hold their FCC licenses (effectively informing the public), ALAN KEYES would be President today? Look at the record. Alan Keyes won EVERY televised Presidential debate that the GOP candidates made in 2000 (check with Morris' voter.com). He was the ONLY candidate to take an overview on Americas problems and to propose a solution. Will ALAN KEYES go away now? I don't think so; not as long as there are responsible Americans who recognize the Republic is in danger and that there are leaders, such as Alan Keyes, who might actually be able to pull us out of it. Is America doomed? Not if we can get THIS man in the Oval Office! -----

I do not agree with Alan Dershowitz's skepticism about God but I find that he is a much more honest man than is Mr. Keyes. Mr. Keyes uses his religion to try to dominate others and make money. Alan Keyes is what an American politician should be...decent, honest, straightforward, and selfless. In short, he is everything that almost every other politician is NOT. That is precisely why, of course, Mr. Keyes will never attain high elected office. He is too honest. He will make the people take personal responsibility, face the truth, and grow some decency. Obviously, that will never do in the new welfare state of America where criminals like Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Janet Waco Reno can commit the atrocities they have and never face justice. I pray Keyes will one day be President, but I know it is impossible as long as a majority of Americans say things like, "It's just sex...it's his private life" concerning Clinton's impeachment and "We just want to count every vote!" concerning Al Gore's attempt to steal the presidency.

Clearly understands the principle of absolute truth, his view of the world is as close to the truth of any man since C.S. Lewis. If it were not for the media Blackout he would have won the nomination. People love to bash him or say they disagree with him but if you ask them why they disagree they end up looking like the fools because they can not creat arguments that measure up to his. Tt is imposable to do anything but deny the truth when confronted with it. Anyone who has any belief what so ever in God, No matter who that God is would have a terrible time confronting any of Dr. Keyes Ideas.

Alan Keyes is both intelligent and straight-forward, both rare qualities in a non-third-party politician. I am fed up with the meandering, ambiguous politicking of every candidate the Democrats or Republicans nominate. Keyes' candor has earned my full support if he runs for the Republican nomination in 2004 (he would've had it this time also, but I am only sixteen). Unfortunately, the United States has long abandoned Keyes' platform, and because of this abandonment, our once-great nation has suffered. It's good to see that someone is willing to fight the uphill battle to get this country back on the right moral track. Liberals call him a theocrat and a demagogue, and they accuse him of social bigotry. But then, it seems liberals are only satisfied when someone somewhere is indulging in deviant (or, as they say, "alternate") behavior.

A great communicator, an intelligant (by ***FAR***, more intelligent than either Bush or Gore) and, by all appearances, a man of good moral fiber. Mr. Keyes and Mr. Buchanan are the only candidates who show any sign of honor and true allegience to the principals that made our Country great. I believe Mr. Keyes and J.C. Watts should run together for Pres. and VP in the next presidential election. I would love to see the media try to keep them out of site and off the air. I think Mr. Keyes needs to take some acting lessons or somehow loosen up a little to create a more favorable impression on people of lesser intellect. Bill Clinton did not get elected because he had such great ideas, or because of his credentials, but because he was a very charismatic, and fun, kind of guy. I'm sorry to say that most Americans are content with making decisions about a president based on how well they relate to him. "I feel your pain" and "I DID NOT HAVE....." may not be truthful, but apparently many folks felt comfortable enough with Clinton to believe him. This makes me believe that a person of substance like Mr. Keyes, who has a great intellect, will be left out in the cold if he does not work on wooing the touchy-feely-feel-good crowd to which a majority of Americans appear to belong.

Needs to learn to use his oratory skills to inspire the best in people, instead of trying to shame them from doing what's worong. Still, it's good to have a straight talker in the race, someone with great respect for the Constitution and the rule of law. Amazing how the mainstream press avoids him. Wanna know why? The 8% of the U.S. who love Keyes are the ultra-conservatives that the media thinks MUST be racists. Turns out they're not racists; sure, they're intellectually opposed to Jesse Jackson, but they'll rally around a black man like Keyes who can articulate conservative political ideas! The existence of Keyes and his supporters just doesn't fit into Dan Rather's world view...
