While Bradley may have been amazing on the hardcourt, he never proved much on the floor of the U.S. Senate. During his three terms in the Senate, his legislative record is less than remarkable. Do you remember any policy initiatives enacted by Bradley? His campaign for the presidency reflects similar failings -- no ideas, no vision. I'll bet he'll be out of the race in less than a month...

Hard to rate him. I'd give him a 5 for being a literate grown up....but a 2 for his past political performance. He didn't speak up in the past for the issues he now espouses. Is it all talk?

I think Bradley is generally a good guy with the right intentions. He would make a fine President and I would vote for him if he won the Democratic nomination. However, as a union member I worry about some of his votes against "Buy America" laws, his support for the Reagan Budget cuts (which cut student loans and school lunches, health care), his willingness to raise the eligibility age for Social Security and his support of free trade and private shool vouchers. All of these positions would make it tougher for the average working man or woman and their families who struggle to get by on a daily basis.

He comes across as a sincere person.

While I understand that it is unlikely that he will be able to topple Gore and his political machine, I am a big fan of Bradley. He seems to be so earnest and caring, truly believing in his plans. He's incredibly smart and I just trust him. Plus, the more I watch his debates with Gore, the more I like him and the more I dislike Gore.

For me, he's the most exciting American presidential candidate since Adlai Stevenson.

Knowledgable, creative, expereinced, not part of DC "in" group. Will cause anxiety for Strohm, Helms, Hatch, Buchanan and all the religious right. Two words describe Bill: tolerant and inclusive.

our next president, i really hope

Al Gore with a personality. Still hasn't has an idea that would work on anything.

Bill Bradley is awesome! I like the fact that he is knpwledgeable, insightful, thoughtful and willing to take on comp[lex issues. He is the type of leader that could be an excellent President in the 21st Century.

Should be President.

Bill Bradley is the most exciting candidate for President I have ever seen. He is highly qualified, and still down to earth. I am actually excited about the opportunity to vote for this man for President.

if he's not a socialist, he's an idiot. democrats and liberals arent that bad.

Bradley is a good man, but he should stick to basketball.

check out his website: www.billbradley.com and you can see where he stands on the issues

Principled, hard worker, focused and balanced. His stand on campaign finance reform is compelling.
lelo1659jp 11/27/1999
the only candidate I would invite home for dinner and drinks
artbuf 11/18/1999
If he doesn't want to win, he shouldn't be running. He has already shown his waffling: For years he downed played his basketball past, now he uses it as a fund raiser. Just another loser.
upchuck 11/15/1999
i like bill, he certainly doesn't seem overwhelmed by anything...i can't tell you where he stands on too many issues, but you really can't with any of the candidates. you would think that bill bradley would be the "stiff one" after all those years of b-ball, but there is no one stiffer than al gore. a new "bill" for 2000!
magellan 11/14/1999
I like that he seems above it all. Like he couldn't give a crap one way or another if he gets elected, but he feels like it's his civic duty not to let that idiot, self-proclaimed "inventor of the Internet", Gore, get elected.

Needs MORE exposure - expand audience.
Ruby 10/26/1999
Sure, Bradley has integrity and self-respect that Gore sorely lacks. But he hasn't distinguished himself with any new ideas. The ones he trumpets are the lamest the Left has to offer -- further restricting political speech (aka campaign finance reform) for instance.
mart415om 10/26/1999
I like this guy a lot, although I couldn't tell you in a lot detail where he stands on things. I think I like his aloofness from the whole scene - he doesn't seem like he cares if he wins all that much. I think that adds credibility.
