Many believe that Bill Clinton brought us out of a recession. But that myth has long been debunked. The recession ended in March 1991, before Clinton even announced his run for the presidency. Furthermore, most of the bills that became law under the Clinton Admistration were the ideas of the REPUBLICAN congress! So by the looks of it, Clinton got it pretty easy, he got credit for ending a recession that didn't exsist and got re-elected on the basis of all the laws he passed, which most of them weren't even his idea. But NO, Clinton decided to have some fun and gave no regard to his title as president and decided on having an affair with an intern. He disgraced this nation and destroyed its reputation.

I dont give a crap if he's a sleaze-bag. It doesn't take away from the fact that he was a good leader. Wish he was still president... a good uniter of the countries of the world, charismatic, smart as hell, and led our country through the biggest era of economic prosperity it has ever known... I miss you Wild Bill!
Groovy 08/03/2004
He is nothing but common gutter trash with no morals or ideals to look up to or adhere to. He is a terrible role model to his daughter, along with his evil and malevolent wife Hillary.

He's soooo O-i-l-e-e. EEWW? I cannot understand the leftist infatuation with this ...I can't think of anything that isn't mean and rotten, but WHAT is the APPEAL?

One star is four points too-many! The King of Sleeze. If you look up liar in the dictionary, his picture is beside it.
kikikristi 07/29/2004
Bill is the white trash president of all time... no one cares who he does what with under his desk. What we do care about is the fact that he lied under oath and doesn't know what is means. Ha! and liberals say Bush is dumb.
marcm9999 07/10/2004
A brilliant man who wasted his presidency. I do not like his political views but was a mover and shaker. However, his legacy is one of a philanderer who fiddled while we got burned. What a waste of talent and energy. We are now paying a stiff price for his neglect and bumbling of the Middle East. It is such a pity that a man with so much intelligence and ability wasted eight years. Could have been one of the best but will be remebered as the worst.
TheDesertFox 07/10/2004
Great, great president. Just ignore your political bias and accept it.

The greatest president ever. anyone who doesnt like him is a player hater
kerry zanass 06/24/2004
Just as he was beginning to accrue stature as a beloved ex-president, he blew it (no pun intended) by writing that smarmy, self-serving autobiography. I've never read worse reviews for a book. What a fool he is.

Geez you people are stupid. Clinton was the most fake, hippecritcial president this country has ever seen. He didn't have the guts to head to the middle east, and had a affair during his presidency... Thank heavens he isn't the president during this time of struggle in our country

LIAR, liar cigar on fire. He did more good for the Republican party than anyone ever. Thanks for giving the Senate back to the Rupublicans! All talk and no substance.
graceforall 05/12/2004
Clinton is intelligent, loves attention, and has a great tv personality. He should have been a televangilist. Perfect for him. Not a President. People act like he accomplished something. He smoozed he is a good smoozer. He walked in the White house and reaped the benefits of Ronald Regans, Economic policies. The Media protected this man and made him out to be a good person, which he is not... Children were subjected to this presidents lies and his total disrespect of the Highest Office in the land. That makes him bad......America will continue to reap the horrible effects that the disrespect and lies caused. It is always about Money and Power....
JMOP 05/06/2004

I wish the 2 term rule was not in effect. This is guy was one of the best! He would have smoked W in an election.
Dirty Harry 05/01/2004
A sinful, slimy, skirt-chasing, lying weasel. His eight years almost ruined the country. The so-called great economy was smoke & mirrors. It started falling apart near the end of his term, just like Eron and the other corporate scandals eventually came to light. He weakened our military, the FBI & the CIA. Scandals were an everyday thing with this crooked, lying piece of crap. Will be remembered as one of the worst Presidents in history (unless his folks write the history).
gunfondler 04/28/2004
He'd have been elected to a third term if Americans had their say.

Here I'm rating Bill Clinton's ability as a politician and not his policy proposals. He was a very talented politician, but a very good liar as well. However, despite his talents and popularity, he was never able to get a solid mandate from the people. First off, he never won a solid plurality of the people's votes. In 1992, he only got 43% of the vote, in 1996, he only got 49% of the vote, and both times he ran against fairly weak opponents. It's a shame because despite all of his talents and all the potential that he had, Clinton utterly failed in administering the executive office. He had no cohesive foreign policy and his domestic agenda was tied down by a hostile Congress. Probably what kept him from accomplishing a lot of his goals was the fact that he never had a mandate. Much of it had to do with the fact that the man himself was flawed morally. I hate to judge these types of things, but lets face it, the guy shot himself in the foot so many times by doing low things like appointing cronies career public official positions in the White House and accepting campaign donations from dubious donors. The sex scandals showed that Clinton didn't have enough character to tell the truth, to stay loyal to his wife, and his lack of self control. But that should have stayed out of the public eye, that was between him and his wife ultimately. Some people claim that Clinton had an active governing style, but I would say that it was very passive and highly reactive. Overall, he didn't have a big vision for the United States despite all the talk about building bridges to the 21st Century.

Why terrible? Twenty three million jobs, surpluses, peace, family leave, and much more! I wish he was President for life!

An absolute embarassment to this country and to the presidency. No morals at all. A crook, liar, swindler, cheat.
lincolnsandcad illacs 02/03/2004
Although Clinton's spending to GDP ratio may not have been bad compared Bush Sr or Bush Jr, he wasn't exactly frugal. One of the biggest lies ever told was the so-called budget surplus. There was NO surplus. You can check the history of the national debt yourself. Debt just kept on increasing through-out Clinton's time in office as it has been for most presidents who resided in the white house. The so-called surplus was an accounting trick. The surplus was actually borrowed from the social security trust fund, which should never be used to fund government expenditures.
tdubya71 01/30/2004
One of the most overrated presidents we've had. Forget the Monica mess, he really accomplished little. George W. Bush is cleaning up some of his messes. He was also soft on terrorism.
ldave_x 01/29/2004
So what if he liked a lot of sex? Who doesn't except for some old geezer or some prune faced rightwing blowhard.(Jerry Falwell comes to mind.) This man did more good things for the country in one month then Bush has done in 3 years. But the Republicans have to have someone to bash. After all, with Bush in the white house it's a constant battle for them to defend his miserable record. I can understand why they are always trying to lay the blame on the former Elected rather then Selected president.

A felonious, adulterous, and arguably treasonous disgrace to the great state of Arkansas and to America in general. I'm still trying to figure out how he got elected to a second term. And more so, how he remained governor in Arkansas for so long prior to his presidency. A royal ass if there ever was one.

Can you say, THE GREATEST PRESIDENT EVER???
LorgSkyegon 11/17/2003
Bill Clinton promised when inagurated that his would be the most ethical administration in history. HA! Filegate, Whitewater, Chinagate, Zippergate, impeachment, perjury, obstruction of justice, sexual assault, sexual harassment, turning the army into the Red Cross with guns, losing the US Nuclear codes! He was a terrrible president and a terrible man. It is too bad I have to give him a score of 1, he deserves a 0.
The Real Truth 11/14/2003
The 12 years prior to his taking office were some of the worse years in US history. They left a mess (huge deficit, crime, high interest rates, very poor economy, etc.) and he fixed it. Just goes to show you..bigots make lousy presidents. But Clinton is the best ever. Thanks Willie for being human...not a hypocrite like Newt, Rudy, Hyde, Dubyah, etc., etc,. They tickle me.

StanUzbeck 09/08/2003
What can I say. On any objective scale this man would not deserve a 4 out of 5, but considering how despicably evil the current administration is, Clinton looks like a paragon of virtue in comparison. At least his lies didn't cause tens of thousands of innocent deaths and the loss of millions of jobs.
Roy_Freddy 09/03/2003
Bill Clinton is a disgrace to the Presidency of this country. The biggest liar this country has ever had in office.
mattr27 07/08/2003
Which lie is worse: A campaign promise not kept: "Read my lips, no new taxes" A denial of criminal activity: "I am not a crook" Another denial of criminal activity: "I did not trade arms for hostages" Or, a denial of a private sexual matter "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" As for the other stuff, Whitewater, Travelgate, Troopergate, etc, "zero plus zero plus zero equals zero"
earthspirit 07/05/2003
He gets one star, and that's a gift. I want a President to be a moral, decent human being because the way he treats his family and friends is likely to reveal fundamentals of his character. His treatment of his family wasn't too good, and so I conclude his treatment of the USA is equally as bad, only most of his supporters have been blinded by his charm, which I admit is considerable.
Ed Konstantellis 07/05/2003
Turned the WH into "Sex in the City" sequel. That wasn't the worst thing....actually, not even in the top 10
lauren33 06/25/2003
Lowest morals ever. You can say all you want about his political prowess, but all in all, he was no good. He slept with people he shouldn't have and really got our country in a mess. One star.
iriegirl 06/15/2003
For all the obvious reasons. As a side note, as an African-American I am saddened and astonished that some of us have chosen to call Clinton "the first black president." Was no one watching when he gave William Fullbright, a known segregationist and racist, the Congressional Medal of Honor, the highest peacetime award? Clinton called this man his MENTOR! I'm sitting here shaking my head in dismay. And by the way, to all those wanting to holler about how great he made the economy, here's a class in economics. The cyclical economic upturn began before he came into office, and the downturn began almost two years before he left office...look it up. Not to mention that a little thing called 9/11 messed us up worse than any president could. And wouldn't it have been nice if Clinton had taken Osama bin Laden from Sudan for prosecution when they wanted to turn him over, instead of saying "I don't want to get involved"? We had 5 terrorist attacks while this guy was in office, and he's cutting back on the CIA and FBI all the while. AND cutting back our border patrols. He wasn't "just human"...not every man is a lecherous fool. I realize that Clinton made people feel better about their own aberrant behavior, and I realize that some people's only criteria of how good a president is lies in how well he plays the saxophone, but character counts. Remember character? It's what you do when no one's watching. His infidelities were not "cute"; after seeing how he'd lie to keep them from coming to light, does anyone realize what a weak link he was to national security? The possibility for extortion he presented boggles the mind. So no NO and again NO...Clinton was not a good president. All those who like to giggle behind their hand about his indiscretions, and who like to ignore his dangerous policies will get a rude awakening 10 years down the road when all the truth comes out. Especially about all those bodies.

Clinton did two good things. He eliminated the 55 mile per hour Federal speed limit. He also was responsible for encouraging the voting public into electing a Republican Congress. This created the legislative / executive gridlock necessary to prevent Clinton's Socialist policies getting enacted. Thanks Bill, you liar.

Bill Clinton worst Ex-Pervert of United States. He is almost as evil as Hillary. We will never be able to measure the damage they did to this country. Bill Clinton as Commander in Chief wore a yellow stripe down his back shaming U.S. Troops.

As far as U.S. presidents go, he was above average. There were certainly some negatives in his administration; Lewinsky and Sudan come to mind, and Kosovo was questionable at best.
