He was a hateful man. He waged a brutal war on the Indians in America. There are several negative adjectives I could use to describe him. He literally appointed slack-jawed yokels to his cabinet.

Andrew Jackson's life was pretty amazing, and interesting. He's one of those guys that you would want to do a book report on. He had some trouble running the white house near the end, but he sounded like a pretty welcoming kind of guy.

Indians were not animals I can only hope that you are paying your dues now for what you did to them.

Killing political enemies and roughing-up Indians is not good.

There were some good and bad elements to Jackson's presidency. He was generally for a smaller government. He was the true founder of the political party movement in America; along with it party machines. It is debatable whether this was good for the country or not. He was not the most smartest guy to take the White House, but he had good instincts. The dark side of his presidency was forcibly removing the Cherokees from North Carolina and moving them to Oklahoma. This was very unethical and wrong.

A brilliant military leader who was truly America's first populist. He extended the notion of democracy to the common man, broke up the unConstitutional Second National Bank, and extended America's territory. Of course, he did erode some elements of federalism and forceably removed indians from their territory.
