I don't know why anyone would say Leno is funnier than David Letterman, but you are probably a Californian if you say so. I like Conan a lot, too, and I'm sure he would say he has a ton of respect for David Letterman. Still, Letterman is the funniest talk show host on TV right now, hands down.

Unfunny CRAP! He is so bad that when my baby niece hears his show, she cries uncontrollably. Only when I flip on Jay Leno does she stop crying! If you want a funny late-night show, try Jay Leno!

He is absolutely horrible. His jokes are SO stupid, he's boring as hell and to top it all off he's smug. Can't stand watching him.

I would give him a 5 except I don't like any late night talk show very much. His is certainly the best of a mediocre lot. He has the best web site by far - that's worth points.

Letterman is so obviously superior to Leno that it's painful. I can't even watch Leno - I feel so embarrassed by his lack of talent. The guy is so obviously a kiss up and he is trying way too hard. Letterman on the other hand is like a fine glass of wine - he gets better with age. Okay, that was a worn out cliche but it is true in this case. David Letterman is every thinking person's favorite. He never fails to make me crack a grin. I'm not guffawing and doubling over with yucks at the edge of my bed or spitting water all over myself. Well, sometimes I do. And I always think about it the next day and I'll kinda chuckle to myself or I'll say to someone "Hey, did you catch Letterman?" Then we'll both chuckle. There's the real test to comedic talent. Will you chuckle about it the next day? With David Letterman you will.

Most of the time he is very boring to me. Maybe he is self-centered or something. I just don't seem to enjoy his shows so I rarely ever watch him anymore.

I attended a taping of one of his shows and he is ice cold to the audience. He didn't wave or even glance at the crowd or acknowledge them in any way. Even though I never really liked him, he was worse than I thought he'd be in his rudeness. The person I attended with had an extremely high opinion of him and was very disappointed. Maybe he's just hungry. In person he looks anorexic and covers his gaunt frame with double-breasted suits. He looked really disagreeable in person.

Dave is awesome! He blows Leno away! Top Ten List isn't what it used to be, but that's to the fault of the writers and not Dave. He's real, and that's refreshing!

Redefined the variety/talk-show format. His ironic found humor school is unmatched. He's painfully aware of his shortcomings & works hard to overcome them. There's no one better.

Letterman strike s me as insensitive and pompous. I think he has a real mean streak to him too, after watching the way he treated Tammy Wynette and later, Farrah Fawcett. He is an abusive bully.

Dave just gets better with age. True, he's corny at times, (plus, I never understood way the #1 entries were never funny in Dave's Top 10 stuff) but he's a class act. He doesn't have to stir up the crowd like Arsenio did. He has A-list guests and knows how to ask decent questions to his guests. I don't think he's rude to his guests. He handled 9/11 with class, especially him with Dan Rather sitting on the couch. That was very emotional seeing these iconistic television figures break down like the rest of us did during that tragic event. I hope Dave sticks around for many years to come. I agree with CastleBee, he has this demeanor wisecracking ability about him that makes you laugh and even if the jokes aren't funny, even he can sense it and he'll find a way to make you chuckle. His facial expressions are like Bob Newhart's he doesn't try to be funny with his expressions but when he reacts, it makes you laugh.

The best one out there, even better than Carson in my book. He never takes himself or anyone else too seriously, and he always seems relaxed on the set (except maybe with Crispin Glover).

I CAN'T STAND LETTERMAN!! He is not even the slightest bit funny, and he is so old that it makes him even LESS funny. They should take him off the air before, and I say this with all loving kindness, he drops dead on live TV. I don't like him at all.

Overrated. Takes himself way too seriously. Likes to dish it out but has a really hard time when someone has a snappy comeback for him. Nevertheless he perseveres and I give him respect for that. Top Ten lists are OK.

I like his show a lot if I could stay awake to watch it I would. He is so funny and he takes his job seriously and thats why I think he's the best talk show host!

You know, I tried to like Dave. I really did. I find him to be quite obnoxious and his jokes aren't very funny. His show doesn't have the same excitement that The Tonight Show has. He does have a few good guests -- I saw Seinfeld doing standup, and Regis was cool a few months back -- but overall, I can see why his show is second in the ratings to The Tonight Show. What's worse -- The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn -- meaning I won't even touch CBS after 11:35 because I have no interest in either shows.

Letterman has the ability to completely crack me up. The closest I can come to telling you why is to say that he has a kind of Bugs Bunny wiseacre quality about him that I have always enjoyed. The kind of natural-born class-clown you pray will show up in your most boring class in high school. I can vaguely remember when he did the weather forecast back in the early '70's in Indianapolis. Let's just say he has always been very unique leaning toward the bizarre. This is definitely one guy who found his niche.

David Letterman recieves full credit for his late night Tv show, that has been airing for generations. He is a fairly good actor, and he doesn't go overboard like Jay Leno would. He acts better then Conan O Brian, but his show isn't as good as Conan's.
