I DO NOT RECCOMEND WORKING AT AMERICAN EAGLE. i am currently an employee and it is probably the worst possible job for a college kid to have! i feel like i drive for 30 minutes every single night to work for three hours. My pay checks are always just around $100 dolars and i can barely make it. I really like the clothes and my manager but the truth is the management gets ripped off too! We all work our butts of for American Eagle and they cant even give us some kinda of christmas bonus!! i have worked till 1:00 a.m this past week because of christams and they have been making atleast $30,000 every day at our store and they cant give there employees a little credit!!we dont even get a christamas party. We have to push and push for credit cards and sales but we never see commision! And the feeling that i get is that i am just another number! they hire 4 new young girls every week and so i get the feeling that they are saying " if you leave , you can be easily replaced!" American Eagle definitely knows how to make money. Hire little girls who will work for close to nothing and make all the money you can off them!! lol they just called me so i have to go to work. p.s but if you are an american eagle shopper they have good deals and quality clothes

I get almost all of my clothes from American Eagle. I like the style. It's kind of preppy except not quite completely preppy.
rckgdss 10/13/2007
the jeans. after levi's, they have the largest freaking selection styles, sizes, lengths, and colors. no store, and i mean, no store even compares. plus, they're tres cheap. like $30 a pair when there are sales (which there are, often). not a perfect store, but what is? A&F can kiss my ass - as if i have that much money to spend on a small selection of clothes. nothing, and i mean, nothing fits in that freaking store. i can find clothes just about anywhere. their pants - too short, and there are never any sizes below 6. hollister - good. lord. someone decided they needed to see how stupid kids are and create a "beach" version of A&F. by "beach" i mean clothes that are already ripped. i like to rip up my own clothes, thanks. why the fuck would i pay $60 for a pair of jeans that already have holes in them?
iluvpotc 09/03/2007
people stop saying A&E that is a tv channel not a store its AE. anyway i think ae is great they are reasonably priced and have good quality stuff.
tytytmac88 08/28/2007
the store itself not so bad. good set up appeals to the eyes. the people that work there match the tone and setting of the store because its ment more for the youth and college age people. however the only thing that disturbs me is the fact everyone tells me the cloths dont have that great of a life expectency. nicley made designs but bad stitch job.. only worth 3 in my books but their profits are still rising so I guess in my business marketing class thats all that matters is profit margin
CBPollock 08/05/2007
Also, AE will refund your returns in store if they are damaged because of poor quality (jeans spliting, holes in shirts from sensors, etc.). Hollister and A&F make you go through their human resources department and they rarely refund you.
cmilhomme 07/07/2007
Personally, I Love American Eagle! I am a proud employee and am happy to say that it is the best job I've ever had, I HIGHLY reccomend it to college students because they're flexible with their hours! As far as the clothes, they are well made and are simple yet stylish enough to fit into everyone's wardrobe! If those of you who say their clothes are overpriced, well then you must not have checked other similar stores (like A&F or HCO), AE has FAR better prices! AE has not ripped off A&F because AE has it's own unique beachy style thats more laid back that A&F! When the going rate at A&F is $80 for a pair of ripped jeans, who wants to pay that when you can get 2 pairs for that price at AE??? More for your money!

Anyone who is against AE is pretty much retarded...1) their employees are always so friendly and helpful, whereas A&F they are all good-looking arrogant jerks!...2) their clothing is such good quality. i have a shirt from A&F that is so thin, i'm scared to wash it because i bet it'll shred. at AE i'm a size 00, and that is one of the only stores that actually carries it!...3)the prices can be a little expensive, depending on what you're buying, but there's always the clearance rack with a good selection and it's always worth the money. also, i saw a pair of men's jeans at A&F that were all dirty and ripped, for $198! I could buy a pair of jeans at target for 10 bucks, rip them and roll them in mud, and get the same product....i'll admit A&F does have some cute styles, but why waste the money? AE has much more of a selection b/c they get new clothes more often, and they are constantly adding things to their clearnance merchandise. at A&F you have to wait and wait for new stuff which is annoying...and if you think AE is a copy of A&F your even more retarded, because it's not! it's MUCH cuter, and totally original...i hope when i'm older i can get a job at AE because i love it!!

i think american eagle's clothes are perfect. they're casual, and kinda boho, and kinda surfer-ish. they're definitely reasonably priced. i just bought a taktop from there for about 17 dollars. but, c'mon what can you expect? they're just like a&f, or hollister, or aeropostale. i think the people working at the american eagle near me are very helpful, and cheerful, and friendly, which makes it a gret place to shop at. also, there's always things on clearance sale, and it's always really cute clothes, that everybody has already forgotten about, so you wont have the same shirt as anyone else. american eagle will always be my favorite store of all time.
kimeye989 04/22/2007
i love their clothes because they are reasonably priced. they're shirts start off at about 15-20 bucks and i dont think thats a horrible price but eventually they usualy go on sale to as low as 7 or 10 dollars which is kinda the same price as walmart. i have never had a good experience in a store like a&f and hollister it seems like the people those stores hire have no idea about the merchendise they're selling nor do they have any desire to work there other than to get a paycheck. i refuse to go into their stores just because the service is that horrible
Chrand808 02/04/2007
I work for American Eagle. Possibly one of the worst retail experiances I've ever had. They over-hire and give horendous hours. Often times you're expected to come into the store for 2.5 hours, and then you *might* be working for another 5 after that. It's hard to feel like you're anything more than a number. Customer service is forced and ackward and often times rude and abbrasive. A&F and Hollister are the way to go. Ask for help if you need it.
kolby1973 01/17/2007
This store is nothing more than a copy cat of Abercrombie and Fitch. No thanks...
stylequeen01 01/16/2007
great quality clothes that don't streatch out, but sometimes their pants are way too big. i tried on some pants yesterday and i wear a 0 and they looked terrible. They were WAY too baggy and looked like mens trousers. i did get some REALLY nice sweaters there that i love and some nice cords. I like Hollister & Abercrombie's store better. Hco has alot of cooler colors.
Erk 01/13/2007
American Eagle has the shittiest clothes. I'm sorry, it's way too baggy & ugly, gross quality compared to AF or Hollister. Everyone always has the same sweatshirt or shirt. I've seen 3 girls in my school with the same exact hoodie w/ same color. I've seen 3 guys in the school with the same polo, etc.. I'm not ever going to shop there. Quality > Quantity
minkey 05/31/2006
They've been on top of their niche and doing things right. People continue to shop at A/E for the outdoors/beach look.
ShiftyNermal 04/17/2006
Nice store. I buy alot of my clothes there. Reasonably priced when compared to Amercrombie. For some reason I can rememebr AE used to have highly priced clothing...not anymore anyway. My only complaint is that the jeans I buy there always seem to rip in the legs.
xsmalltownpoet 04/16/2006
I'm an employee at American Eagle for a good amount of time, but don't simply assume I'm biased because of this. There are a few things that complainers usually focus on. First, clothing-upkeep is the consumers job. If you don't wash clothing correctly, it will fall apart- whether it's AE or A&F. Second, American Eagle has former A&F designers that work for us now. We do not have lower quality clothes. I have clothes from AE that I purchased five years ago. They are still in perfect condition- no shrinkage, rips, tears, fading. The main difference is that A&F is trying to have a certain attitude and look "hot" while AE simply wants to give the customer the best experience possible. For instance, while we call our label reps "Sales Associates", A&F calls them "models." If the customer is looking for highly priced clothing that is not of higher quality, that's fine. The only thing the customer is paying for is A&F's "models" that stand around and look pretty while the customer is having to dig through piles and roam around the store to find something without help.
roro80o72 04/06/2006
i like A&E but i like hollister and A&F better sry people a&E is nice and there clothes are comffy but a lot of the things i get or my brother gets break the buttons dont stay on and the jeans fall apart after a while if you wear them a lot im not trying to rag on A&E but A&F and Hollister's clothes are better quality yes more expensive but made much better
abbyx0 03/29/2006
i love american eagle with my life. they have the cutest clothes, and are way cheaper. abercrombie is more like trash its to much money for raggady old clothes. hollister is cute too. but american eagle is the best.
pip_squeak 03/01/2006
Compared to Abercrombie, AE is garbage. It has none of the sizzling half-naked models plastered all over A&F's walls, nor does it have as good a playlist. I like A&F's style better - clothing-wise and in terms of the shopping experience itself. I melted the first time I laid eyes on Maxwell Zagorski at A&F! What a hottie!
worldtakerover 02/28/2006
I love American Eagle soooooooooooooooooooooooo much and it probably is the best store in the whole wide world. Everybody who doesn't like the store might as well jump off a clift and kick a tree or something. I give them 5 stars and if I could give them anymore stars then I would, but... I can't. I'm not God, no. but I am Crystal Igbinoba, the best person in the whole wide world and I will be taking over the world so WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
scoots3131 02/05/2006
Dear Mindless Consumers, You suck. You REALLY do. If you can't see, after two seconds of walking through the front doors of both AE and AandF, that AE is exponentially better....well then the "you suck" label is justified. AE has better product, more selection, better sales, friendlier and more helpful staff, and don't histarically over charge you just because they can. It's like the choice between an inexpensive glass of cool clear water and a $10 thimble of toilet juice. What can I getcha, sir?

Omg i love that store and it is not cheaply made it is made well and their clothes are very comfortable and last a long time compaired to other stores i agree that a&f is good to and so is hollister but none of them are cheaply made
diplomat5 11/18/2005
Good company to invest in, but as far as the product is concerned, they suck.
BowChikaWowWow 10/23/2005
i would say theres not a whole lot of comparison between AE and AF because there styles actually are pretty diffeernt but in some aspects there not like with those polo shirts but AE is way cheaper and brings in new clothes more abercrombie seems to have the same stuff forever and ae has stuff go on sale and the people are more friendly stuff is cheaper then af but is stil alota time alittle pricy but tehy have a great selection of sizes of jeans, overall its a pretty good store
genmack 09/09/2005
Ok, i admit that some of the clothing is cute, but if i didnt get a 40% discount i would never have bought anything. so basically i worked my behind off all summer and for WHAT?!? 0 dollars baby. they havent payed me yet because they keep telling me its MY bank thats having the problem?!? no. i'm sorry. but i think this has happened to other people and i'm SO fed up with the incompetent managers who are continuously passing off responsibility. They over hired, gave me the worst hours ive ever had to work in my life, and at minimum wage IN ADDITION they didnt train me properly and freaked out when i made a mistake.
AEparadise 08/31/2005
I Love this store.. Everything is so comfy and they fit great. I like A&F and Hollister too, but sometimes their stuff doesn't fit everyone nice.
veenat 07/19/2005
Not really a fan of their shirts (I like mine more simple and clean cut), but I give them a 4 because their jeans fit great and are really comfortable. I highly recommend them. And it's definitely the less expensive alternative to Abercrombie.
spifffranz 07/05/2005
Love thier jeans, they actually have sizies that fit me(26X28) and the staff is superfriendly. The shirts are a bit overpriced for my taste.
*JulieBaby* 05/10/2005
ok! I don't know why everybody is raggin on AE cuz if its the same thing as A&F and your still buyin it, thats stupid wastin your money on some $50 shirts and $80 for some pants! shoot, I saw some pants at Goodys and they looked just like A&F pants!lol...anyways wats the point of wastin your money on something when the same thing is sitting right in front of you and its better quality and itsless expensive and it seems like all the stuck up girls absolutely HAVE to wear A&F!AE is an overall better store!
Titan87 02/28/2005
Great clothes at a reasonable price, unlike Abercrombie. They only screw themselves over when they sell colored shirts or polos with ridiculous colors that can't match anything else you're wearing. Who needs five different colors on one shirt. They need to keep it simple like Abercrombie when it comes to colors. Other than that, a great store.
BIGBABY 02/14/2005
2nd favorite clothing store behind Abercrombie. Put half naked guys over the walls and the rating will increase to 5.
ireland D4 01/21/2005
its the new and better abercrombie, i will soon be a model for u
AECANADA 01/04/2005
AE is the best store out there. Sure their clothes can be one the expensive side compared to wal-mart for example but then AE's clothes last forever compared to other stores. Great styles and selection at a good price for what you get.
khaileaverde 12/05/2004
American Eagle... Some of their clothes are cute, like their snowflake sweaters or corduroy miniskirts, but you must shop with a huge spending budget because a simple V-neck sweater can run you up $40 easily. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for a sheer T-shirt that reads something sexual like Deck my Halls or random like Excuse my French.
barbiedoll24 11/30/2004
i love AE its great! i do understand what yall say about ae been the same as as a&f b/c it kinda is but ae is so cute and its all pretty cheap...i work at AE and its so much fun! but its not for every 1..but hey i love it so and the jeans are so comfortable!
Seraph 10/30/2004
Nice quality and cheaper than A&F. You can still get more bang for your buck at, say, Old Navy, but you'll keep your AE clothes longer.
PoloPrincess76 5 10/16/2004
AE is the best place ever! EVERYBODY in my town shops there, a&f, or other nice places. I dont know what you guys are saying about AE being expensive cuz its really cheap. Sure its more than Walmart but ive never actually met anybody that seriusly shops there. Common. They have nice jeans and tees, but their polos bug me. Ralph Lauren makes the BEST polos if you're looking!
imsona 10/07/2004
I HAVE never, ever been delinquent in payment... but their credit department keeps making mistakes OR SOMETHING?? I have tried to pay with checks 3, yes 3, times for the same payment. All my checks to other people are fine, but they say it's a problem with MY BANK??! Uh, NO! And, yes the late charges are piling up for NO REASON== this is the worst experience ever.
Michello 09/20/2004
I like the style, but not the selection. Not every is built to wear a minnie skirt. I miss some of there more modest styles that they had a few years back.
trem0lo 09/17/2004
They're a poor man's Abercrombie with better customer service. It is pretty hard not to see that A&E rips off Abercrombie's styles nowadays. A few years ago A&E was NOT vintage oriented and had more classic styles. I have a few nice, thick wool sweaters from that era, but now that quality is nowhere to be found. Sorry, but I'd rather pay more for A&F's higher-quality vintage clothes, even if the employees ignore me.
dhihe44 08/27/2004
I love this store. I agree with everything that 'pure beauty' said. This is one of my fav. stores.
pure_beauty 08/25/2004
I am a huge fan of AE. I've noticed a few comments saying the clothes are cheaply made...they are not. Half my wardrobe is from there and the clothes have lasted well and long. The style is casual and comfortable while incorporating all the latest trends. As for the price tags...take a long around people, there are many many stores that are more expensive than AE.
lamatt32 08/12/2004
I work for AE and i think they have the best cloths the best staff and the best management around! The cloths are new and fresh and to say the least affordable. I am a proud employee and anyone who says AE is bad only says that cause their not cool enough to wear the cloths plain and simple. And to the people who say that American Eagle is all about numbers ...they are way off we want to make money yes but as an employee i feel every wanted and i truely want to make the experience better for people when they come in SO SHOP AT AE!
aeChic 07/18/2004
I don't know what's up with people here whining about AE being and A&F ripoff. Have you looked at other stores lately? They have some of the same styles there too. Some people just don't have $80.00 to spend on one pair of jeans at A&F. At AE you can get quality at a decent price.
flower child 07/07/2004
i like american eagle. very vintage. some things are at reasonable prices...while others aren't. i like how they have a diverse group of models.
annaharris_227 07/02/2004
I love this store! I like a lot their clothes, especially their polos and graphic tees! Sure, the clothes are more expensive than Wal-Mart and Target. But they are worth their price! And the prices are a bit more reasonable than A&F. They last through the washing machine and don't have the strings come out of them and/or shrink after one wash! Lots of times, they'll have sales on their graphic tees (eg: 2 for $12). It's worth checking out!
nancy1312 06/26/2004
I paid for charged merchandise two days late, and they persist in sending me bills with late charges on late charges on late charges. I will never shop here again. Their clothing is expensive but cheaply made. The employees are very courteous, but their credit department is horrible.
whitemoon 06/21/2004
This store is incredably expensive for clothes that are not even made well. They shrink and fall apart.
