Classic hip hop flayva. These guys are real rappers and some new guys should follow thier example of perfection. You can't go wrong when playing run dmc in the car or at an old school party.

Pioneers of rap. Had great songs without vulgarity. Today's rap could take lessons from this legendary group. Great collaboration of rap/rock with Walk This Way. Came along in the golden age of rap. Adidas should have paid them back for all the free publicity. Produced by legendary producer Rick Rubin. Run is the brother of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons.

The 1st generation of rap/hip-hop artistes were innovative and inspirational with Run DMC at the top of the pile. The only problem was that there was nowhere left to go for their followers. Their debut is one of the 3 essentials in the genre along with Public Enemy's 'Fear of a black planet' and 'Licensed to ill' by the Beasties. The beats just rock and funk in equal measure and have the power that 50 cent and Eminem lack.

Now, THIS is the group that put the Rap Game in the mainstream... Legendary Legends. JMJ's loss really hurt, I picked back up the shell toes (rediscovered by today's youth), and haven't put them down since. When are those leather bombers coming back in style. I mean these cats invented the hip hop dress code... Anybody who doesn't give this group five stars knows jack about the RAP / HIP HOP game, has no respect for the history, and doesn't know their a$$ from a whole in the ground! My Word is Bond!

Ususally I hate rap for all it's worth, but their Christmas song (that Hollis Queens one) really isn't bad.

They were really the first band that brought rap to a more mainstream audience rather than urban underground. I think their collaboration with Aerosmith on Walk This Way is better than the original. A very good band indeed. They are in the top 5 of all-time rap groups; the first to hit it big in on a large scale.
