What can you say about Robin Williams that already hasn't been said. Tha man is brilliant weither on stage or onscreen. Patch Adams, Dead Poets Society, and Death to Smoochy are my fav movies and his fast paced "Live on Broadway" that I bought on DVD was the best I've ever seen. By the way, if anyone has seen his previous HBO special"Off the Wall" let me know cause I would love to find it. Thanx.
Sharon3802 08/31/2003
He was absolutely wonderful in Mrs. Doubtfire and as Mork. But that's it.
beermonstor 08/26/2003
He's about as funny as these hemmeroids I just got removed.
saladdin69 08/23/2003
The second most unfunny person EVER.
andyknoedler 08/18/2003
Too bad he didn't stick to doing comic movies.
ggobs 08/16/2003
Hillarious

I'm used to seeing Robin Williams on the big screen, doing family-friendly kinds of movies, so seeing his stand-up routine on HBO recently made my jaw drop like a rock. It was just a shock to me to see him so . . . er, vulgar. Not that it's necessarily bad at all, it was just . . . well, you might not want your kids watching it. As an actor, he's shown a pretty good range of skill.
EZMENOT 07/11/2003
This guy is not funny. I wish I knew who first told him he could make a career of it because they ought to be shot. I have watched his act, as painful an experience I have yet to top, and the only thought I am left with is that if he wasn't a celebrity he would be hospitalized in the pshyc unit. I work with mentally handicapped individuals and I know a disturbed person when I see one. This guy has mental problems. Not funny. Crazy, yes. And those people that do find him funny... that really boggles my mind.
BIGBABY 06/23/2003
I never really looked at Williams as a great comedian. Why? Well, he's never made me laugh. He's a great actor, above average, but as a humorist he isn't all that appealing. He oftem seems desperate to come up with something funny.
Diggity911 06/15/2003
He's one hairy bastard
KoRnChild70 06/01/2003
I havent seen his stand-up, but I heard that part was good. I actually enjoy his acting very much and think his movies are funny. Best movie, Mrs. Doubtfire. He acts perfectly as both a man and an old woman in this film. If you have not seen it, buy it now.
Moosekarloff 05/30/2003
Too manic, poorly paced, and irritating in stand-up. This guy is great when he has a well-defined comedic role to do, but once you get him off script he becomes shrill and overbearing.
kahfess 05/17/2003
Robin Williams is no doubt one of the greatest comedians that I have ever seen. Even when he’s trying to be serious, you can see the twinkle of mischief in his eye. I enjoyed his HBO on Broadway show so much I bought the DVD. He is a great pic-me-up when life seems to have dished out just too much and I need to take a chill.

I watch even the simplest interview and I pee in my pants. This man is beyond genius, he is super-human, and his talent is unsurpassable. He can make you cry from laughing or from the dramatic work he does. His interview on 'Inside the Actor's Studio' was a sparkling gem in the otherwise dull series. I highly respect and worship this man.
Gups11 05/15/2003
He is crazy funny
getback 05/09/2003
A fool ,someone whio is convinced he is so smart that anything he does is funny,I have never seen wit or charm from this product of Happy Days.
ersken 05/08/2003
Robin is great, a master of improvasation. Also a great dramatic actor. As far as stand up goes, i wouldn't rank him that high because he really lacks focus and depth. He kinda just relays the constant chatter that is constantly going on in his head. It is entertaining, but I enjoy a more subtle and intelligent humor.
Smartie 03/15/2003
He's very funny, and I thought he was great on Whose Line. Pretty darn good comedian if I do say so myself.
Redoedo 03/07/2003
Come on, this guy is the king of modern stand up. Has anyone seen his stand up comedy act on HBO, "Robin Williams Live On Broadway". It was simply brilliant. I have a lot of respect for his renouned ability to also act in dramatic films, which shows he truly has range as an actor.
NickDanger 02/28/2003
He's the pre-eminent comic genius of our time--as a stand-up comedian. He fares less well in other media. In comic films and TV, he suffers because the writers simplay aren't as funny as he is. And he is preposterously overrated as a dramatic actor, a line of work he was lured into as a novelty item, and which he is unlikely ever to master. When he sticks to what he does best, though, no one can touch him.
BassHawg 02/28/2003
lets not confuse comedy with stupidity...
couchpotato 02/04/2003
This guy is a genius. The king of improv indeed. Flying at hyperspeed through his old stand-up, fantastic in his movie roles, does this guy have a downside? Okay, Good Will Hunting, but I'm no drama buff. Patch Adams was a fantastic movie that is highly recommended. And Live On Broadway is one of the greatest stand-up specials I've ever seen.
rt93north 01/30/2003
Obnoxious as hell. All these years later he still acts like Mork. Watch the old video of "Don't worry, be happy" by Bobby Mcferren. He is an absolute IDIOT!!
southernmissta te63 01/28/2003
ADORE ROBIN WILLIAMS, HE'S BRILLIANT, FUNNY, AND CUT AS A BUTTON.
marleyboy183 01/25/2003
he is great! terribly funny!haha
sapien 11/11/2002
Incredible person and incredible personality. I wish I had just a fifth of his energy.
AngelSnow 08/13/2002
He's got SO MUCH ENGERGY! the thing he just did on HBO was absolutely hysterical. I think he's just not afraid of being onstage an looking like a nut which I commend him for. He goes so fast and he can do so many differenct acents that I have nothing but respect for him.
I Let the Dogs Out 08/05/2002
He is the King of modern stand-up
Priss168301 04/12/2002
Robin Williams is awesome
Molfan 04/03/2002
Robin Williams can be funny with his hyper kinetic energy for comedy. Put him on a stage and let adlib he can be pretty funny. Sometimes he can go overboard. I liked him in Mrs. Doubtfire, and Good Morning Vietnam was right up his alley for his humor. I also think he can be a surprisingly good dramatic actor,I liked him in The Fisher King, Good Will Hunting, and Patch ADams{where he was both comedic and dramatic} I like most of his work in both comedy and drama.
CastleBee 02/10/2002
He has THE most amazing energy and his mind is going so fast at all times he no doubt generates quite a bit of static electricity. That's why you can easily be entertained several times by his films - you always see something new each time you watch because you can't possibly catch everything the first time around. I never would have said that early in his career and especially during his "Mork and Mindy" days. Then, he just seemed annoying and obnoxious for the most part. Fortunately, he's made big strides since then and found some vehicles (and easy-going, tolerent directors I would bet) that have managed to showcase his unique talents. Today I have no doubt in my mind that Robin Williams was born to do exactly what he does in exactly the way he does it. One of the few I would rate as a true comedic genius.
rolodo 07/01/2001
not funny. not at all the comic genius too many people think he is. he has energy. i'll say that much for him. and this middle-aged man must stop playing young people in the movies. with a mug like his ain't no way he is believable as a young person. to recap: never understood his appeal to the masses; very unfunny performer.
lindastuurman 06/04/2001
His stand-up work is really hilarious. (An evening with Robin Williams most of all) I had to see it three times because I had to laugh so loud I didn't hear all the jokes. And I can tell you, you don't wanna miss one! He's just great and I think noone can improvise like he does. I love this guy, NO, I REALLY love this guy.
skitmjfe 01/29/2001
Robin Williams is great i mean all the movies he is in you are able to be touched and feel very personal to. Especially Patch Adams and Jack. He is wonderful I do not see how anyone could feel that he isn't.
jai7321 01/27/2001
Robin is an all around warm guy. It comes through in his acting and his comedy. My favorites: Dead poets society(i cried), Patch Adams, and Bird Cage.
BanJer 12/15/2000
He is willing to say or do anything that he thinks is funny. This lack of restraint allows for a more sincere and effective approach. His speed is also impressive. No one could keep up with his stream of concsiouness and lightning fast wit. He's just honest. No censoring or reigning him in, he'll be himself, which is just naturally hilarious.
THOMASSNOT 12/15/2000
ROBIN IS THE BEST.
actjef1077 11/24/2000
Williams is my favorite actor. The only one who comes even close is John Cleese. The only problem with Williams is he has a hard time being serious at times. Still, I love all his movies, from Good Morning Vietnam to Good Will Hunting. He is a comic genius.
Splatty 11/22/2000
The absolute best ever!! I've been a huge fan since the beginning. I admire him becaasue he still does stand-up comedy and has never forgotten his roots. The past couple of movies he's done has been a little sappy for even my taste, but you have to admire the risks that he takes. So many comedians ditch performing once they hit it big, and he has never. I loved him in Whose Line is It Anyway. About time he was on that show! It was made for him!!!!
rickrto 11/22/2000
I have all the respect in the world for this comedian. Robin Williams is not only a great comedian, but he's also a brilliant actor. Although Robin Williams doesn't do stand up comedy anymore, he maintains a great rapport with his audience. Whenever you see Robin Williams, you're sure to laugh, cry, or cheer for this enormously talented actor.
jfumaro 11/17/2000
The god of comedy! Very successful and versatile. He has done it all, from cranked out humor to family films. Everytime he is put on camera, he reacts!
nemonkey 11/17/2000
I am a big fan of this charismatic individual. He always brings a smile to my face. He has emerged to create terms of either joy or madness. I enjoyed him especially in Mrs. Doubtfire and Patch Adams. The man is definitely down to earth and all around cool. I look forward to seeing him in many forthcoming shows or movies.
Zimbabwe 11/02/2000
Williams has his funny moments, but his hyperactivity and obscene language, especially in the political area, wears extremely thin. He is actually a very strong dramatic actor, although he started off as a comedian. His recent performance for a Bill Clinton fund-raiser was embarrasing in that it sounded like he was willing to say anything for a cheap laugh. Most of what he said was offensive and not funny at all. Stick to the movies, Robin.
Dorohasgas 10/05/2000
he's a number 10 on the 1-10 hairy man scale
alicat 06/16/2000
I have always like Robin Williams from Mork and Mindy all the way to Mrs. Doubtfire. He is very smart and very funny. I like him now even more since last summer when walking through Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on a Sunday afternoon, I stumbled upon the Comedy festival and he made a surprise visit and was absolutly hilarious. He improved the whole thing and had the crowd rolling. It was great. He is a local to the Bay Area and participates in a lot of community work which I admire.
flai6201om 06/12/2000
OVERATED.EXCEPT FOR GOOD MORNING VIEITNAM AND THE BIRDCAGE HE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING DECENT SINCE MORK AND MINDY.
anna5946ar 04/14/2000
Amazing! Huge amount of energy, his brain goes so fast it's hard not to miss a joke because you're laughing so hard. Great dramatic actor too, and one has to agree that his improvs are the absolute BEST!
upchuck 03/06/2000
top comedian and a brilliant actor,,,my only concern is that he has been a little too "sappy" in his last couple of films...i've seen his improv and his mind has to be going twice as fast as anyone else...i still remember "garp", one of his early greats.
mtsw3735om 01/21/2000
Not only the undisputed king of improvisational comedy, but also a damn good actor.
