 | hoosier4ever (2) 02/26/2008 | Saw him live with my brother many years ago. We wanted to go see him because we thought he was so funny on tv. And we weren't disappointed. Even jokes we knew from television we were still laughing hard at in person. This guy is truly funny.

 | angryjed (2) 12/03/2007 | A comedian's comedian. You know you're good when other comedians watch your act.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 07/31/2007 | He almost seems out-of-place in our louder and dumber world than his heyday of 15+ years ago, but no one has a funnier pregnant-pause than Wright- and no one has a better dead-pan delivery. . .much to my surprise, I still found him funny. . .

 | 93century (36) 07/31/2007 | I will always remember a comedy special with him saying he had a dog named "Stay". "Come here Stay!"

 | FranksWildYears (48) 12/29/2006 | Totally original and more influential than he is ever credited. It's amazing that he has been able to live with these twisted thoughts for so many years and not have his head explode.

 | PlanetaryGear (52) 11/21/2005 | A one trick pony, but his "stoned slacker" routine would spawn occasional moments of brilliance.

 | Guava Monkey (4) 03/31/2005 | Havent heard/seen him for years but I liked his laid back monotone style which worked well with his quirky one liners. At the time it was a refreshing change to the manic OTT delivery of most other stand ups and cliched obervational comedy. Someone else here said he's like the Gary Larson of stand up. Guess that's a good way of putting it. Here are some good uns although you have to remember delviery is 70% of the funnyness.
Did you sleep well? No, I made a couple of mistakes.
When I was crossing the border into Canada, they asked if I had any firearms with me. I said, Well, what do you need?
If you were going to shoot a mime, would you use a silencer?
If a word in the dictionary were mispelled, how would we know?
There is a thin line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot

 | Skizero (13) 03/17/2005 | never found him to be funny. the monotone one-liner oddity stuff got old for me really fast. i did see one thing that makes Steven Wright midly appealing in my mind. he did a skit where he brought groceries home to an apartment w/no electricity, so in order to unpack and put the food away, Wright used a camera and the rest of the skit are these still shots of him unloading grocery bags and putting food away.

 | frogger20190 (3) 09/17/2004 | I like to skate on the other side of the ice.
I know he's not for all tastes, but I like my humor dry as a martini, and he fits the bill. Plus, he does this without profanity for the most part.
Hysterical.

 | Hardwire (2) 07/23/2004 | Was a great comedian in his day, very original with his low-key, offbeat jokes and obscure way of thinking. He pretty much has no topics, he just tells a bunch of random jokes, which, if done right, works very well.

 | Moosekarloff (17) 05/30/2003 | Low-keyed and self-effacing comic who generally has me counting my toes out of boredom. He seems to have the correct comedic ideas, but they don't turn out so funny. He would probably do well in a structured role, but might not be comfortable with that. So, he's limited and so is his humor.

 | Andrew Gilmore (10) 07/08/2002 | One of the most original comedians in the past twenty years. I'll never forget the time I saw him live at the Keswick Theater. "I put spot remover on my dog and now he's gone." "It's a small world, but I wouldn't wanna paint it." "I'm writing an unauthorized autobiography. When it comes out, I'm gonna sue." "The last time I tried to commit suicide, I jumped off a building and wound up doing a triple-somersault and landed on my hand. Two cats were there, and one of them said to the other one, 'see, that's how you do that'". "I can levitate birds, but nobody cares." Funny stuff!

 | Mahattma (0) 07/11/2001 | Although his delivery is not completely origional (His style is reminiscent of Henny Youngman) his material is deep and thought provoking. Every line he delivers is a comedic gem, which he has himself written. Not to mention that he has always stayed out of the blue area and kept it clean AND funny.

 | PoorOldEdgarDerby (4) 08/31/2000 | His personality and physical appearance definitely meshed well together. I see him as sort of the Gary Larson of stand up comedy. It takes a certain type of mind, way of thinking, to think in the way these two do. It's funny but it's also pretty creepy. Thought he was great in "So I Married An Axe Murderer" as the narcoleptic pilot..."Oh man..I was having the most amazing dream"

 | dhec4450du (0) 03/06/2000 | Kinda creepy, kinda weird, but always funny. One of his classics: "I went out and bought myself a decaffeinated coffee table. Can't tell by looking at it."
