The Bee Gees are awesome!. Many people regard them as a "Disco only" group, which is furthest from the truth. Long before Saturday night fever and the disco craze, the brothers Gibb had many other(NON DISCO)hits. They have also written songs for other performers such as: Barbara Strisand and Kenny Rodgers. Long live the Bee Gees.

Night Fever, Stayin' Alive, More Than A Woman.....this band had some great songs. But how a man can sing that high is beyond me.
greasemusical 10/24/2002
I really like the Bee Gees Spirits having flown and this is where I came in albums. I give credit to any band who can stay around for over 30 years and still produce multi-millions selling records, as they have got to be a great group and no one can argue with that really.
Jason1972 10/21/2002
The only reason why these guys do not get 5 stars is that they got caught up in the disco craze and they drove their "Night Fever" songs to the ground, and even they regret that that ever happened to themsleves. Other than that, these guys are very talented songwriters and their three part harmonies are flawless. I personally like their pre-1975 era like "To Love Somebody" and "Run To Me"..great songs!
SNOWBUNNY 09/29/2002
I like them. They have great songs.
dreemsofyou 09/10/2002
One of the best groups I've ever heard
couchpotato 08/26/2002
They were pretty good I guess.
angellefanatic 08/03/2002
The Bee Gees are truly brilliant. I'm gonna have "Stayin' Alive" played at my funeral! Wicked.

Too bad the two remaining Beegee fans couldn't get enough email addresses to lift their band higher than 100! Oh yes, Jensecret and vicky5 and expressjeans - they are SOOOOO talented, aren't they?!
dreamer33 07/12/2002
The Bee Gees should be much higher in the list, they are better than most of the bands listed!

jock is too tight
Skippyhead 07/03/2002
Their songs say it all.
happychild 07/01/2002
I really think the Bee Gees wrote some real great songs and they wrote so many too
tworebel 06/27/2002
Barry Gibb contributed more to music than anybody I ever seen. They should be TOP 3.
stickleback 06/25/2002
The Bee Gees = great group, great songs, enough said No.1

$pook 06/15/2002
Can't believe these "disco dorks" were so popular. Andy's voice is just grateing.
Britneyrocks 06/14/2002
As far as I'm concerned the Bee Gees are the best group around. Of course I don't like the stupid Beatles film sgt pepper, but that's forgivable, (and neither did they!!) But they did some wondeful folk/rock songs on their 60's albums and I really liked their pop songs on The This Is Where I Came In album
Joey1963 06/13/2002
Man...some classic 70's music. Still enjoy listening to the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack which is awesome in itself. Barry's work with Barbara Streisand, Dionne Warwick and others was good. They have lots of talent...and that's probably why they are still making music fourty years later.
qtdancer16 06/10/2002
I saw "Saturday Night Fever" (the Broadway show) and I was absolutely dumbfounded. No, not that the show was awesome (but it was), but because the music was phenomenal! Since then I've seen many of their concerts and I steal some of my parent's Bee Gees CD's. My absolute favorite song they've sang is "If I Can't Have You". I think that the Bee Gees are excellent, and that they rate up their w/ Queen and all those other awesome bands. They definitely make Britney and all that other crap look pathetic.
Beegees 06/05/2002
The Bee Gees! Gosh, Where do I start! Considering they've been performing and writing songs since the fifties to the present day they MUST! be one of the most successful groups/songwriters ever. ABBA, Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie, George Michael, Pet Shop Boys, Genesis as well as new groups like N Sync have over the years said that the Bee Gees have been an inspiration to their work, whether it be their songwriting or their vocal ability, or even their record productions. Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Brian Wilson, not forgetting Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler (Areosmith) Bono and the Edge (U2) and Cliff Richard have praised the Gibb Brothers talent as performers. They have 10 lifetime achievement awards, 7 grammy awards and 16 nominations. They are in the rock 'n' roll hall of fame and the songwriters hall of fame, they have had almost 3,000 other artists record their songs!!! Including almost every major star from Elvis Presley to Destiny's Child. They've written 48 top ten hits in England and 16 No.1's in America, second only to the Beatles in both countries. Also recently Billboard recently announced that the Bee Gees were the No.2 group of all time after the Beatles! They wrote the top 4 songs in the chart and had five songs in the US top 10 in 1978. No other songwriter has ever done this anywhere! Yet, after all these amazing achievements, some people out there still bash them, like on this message board (who obviously need their ears tested) People forget that there is more to the Bee Gees other than Stayin' Alive and Saturday Night Fever. pgm6050 says it all as far as I'm concerned, if you want Disco, Rock, mellow music the Bee Gees have done it and when you think about it, they've also done country, R&B, Soul, Folk, Rap, Pop, Etc! The'r music both artisticly or commecially has made a huge impact in every country of the world, generation after generation. Hits in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's 00's. All written! How many groups can say that. There will never be a another group with as much talent as the Bee Gees. How many groups will be able to sit here in 40 years and look back with as much respect as they've been given. Zero as far as I'm concerned. They were follwers of the Beatles in the 60's and in the 70's they were the one's who were leading the way in music. Again, whether it's as songwriters, singers or producers you gotta have respect for this group.
lighttime 04/20/2002
The Bee Gees are the best group ever. They write so many great songs both for themelves and others, if anyone doesn't agree with me then you suck!!
sk8rbrown 04/10/2002
The Bee Gees? Come on disco was out even before it was in, and the Bee Gees were the worst.
Potch1214 03/30/2002
Okay, okay. Disco sucks and no one was more disco than the Bee Gees. BUT, they were great songwriters. Great singers. They were famous for more than just disco. You have to respect the body of music here, so I give them a 3.
oodie 03/27/2002
one of the best groups ever to grace the charts--not only have they whethered 40 years together but they've stayed consistent w/the times yet true to their soul. late 60's folk rock Bee Gees rivals anything out at the time their late 70's foray into funk/disco/r&b was the best available at the time and now as creaters of rare intelligent adult pop music--they've painted a new canvas brilliantly

The Bee Gees are a brilliant group. They have songs to suit every occasion. Wow, I just heard that they're the most successful group since The Beatles, what an amazing feat.
fairyfeller 03/07/2002
what a joke!! the early stuff was ok...but disco sucks
RickysAngel 02/27/2002
The greatest group of all time! What else needs to be said.
ghlove 01/20/2002
Hmmm... JenSecret74, SexyCramer and Vicky5 all love the Beegees and are on all the Beatle entries bashing the Beatles. Read their comments. Do you have any more email addresses? I give you credit though - you've certainly boosted the BeeGees up there quite a ways. You must be a very loyal fan since you can't seem to get over the fact that the Beatles are always considered better, can you? Sad. Very Sad. Nice to see pure envy at work. I wonder if this girl would have done all the Beatle-bashing if she knew the BeeGees thought highly of them. I'm not going to do the same thing and bash the BeeGees. They were talented, if you're into that kind of music and they had a few songs I really like.
CastleBee 01/15/2002
These famous brothers have had more hits in more musical eras than most groups have dreamt of. From their mellow hits of the late 60’s, through the 70’s when they defined the then wildly popular (albeit soon to burn out) disco music, to hits through the 80’s, 90’s and today. One of the best musical shows I’ve ever seen on television was the one featuring the Bee Gees not long ago. Approximately two straight hours of non-stop hits! Not very many musical groups can take you through four decades of nostalgia, leave you with a smile on your face and a yearning to go out and buy their greatest hits volumes 1 thru whatever.
iwrite 01/12/2002
One of the greatest (and under rated) groups of all time the Bee Gees just aren't given enough credit. The milestones they have achieved in the long since Disco genre of music alone were phenomenal. Saturday Night Fever's Soundtrack still boasts a unique cult following even today. What makes the Bee Gees so versatile is that they always turn out hits better than the one before. If you have never listened to them or always dismissed them, I suggest you give their music a try.
Kellyrocks 01/11/2002
Hi, the Bee Gees are offically the world's most popular group since the Beatles, and also the most covered since them. No one who has any apreciation for Popular music can dissagree. I can't help but comment on the stupid review by ellajedlika21. The Bee Gees are definately in the same league as The Beatles, they're sometimes better and aslso, they have had a multi million selling carreer which has lasted nearly three time as long as the Beatles. Also if you think this review sucks then don't worry this reviewer also gave U2 only one star and Madonna one also!
gaiusmarius 01/01/2002
Still good, even after all of these years.
genie1 01/01/2002
A great act. Very large repetoire of hits and should have been hits.
JenniferLoveBa by 10/13/2001
They are a top group!
MedgarEvers 10/04/2001
I remember listening to the radio a while back, and hearing some beautiful song called "Run to Me" come on and recognizing a Gibb voice somewhere in there, thinking that maybe all the great things I've heard about the Bee Gees' non-disco music was true. And it is true. They put out some great sixties pop music, with nice melodies and string arrangements. "To Love Somebody," "Holiday," it's so smart and sweet. Scrap the disco, keep the goodies- they put out some good albums.
sunny184 10/02/2001
Very fond memories of this group. I worked in a Disco and they were everyones favorite, but I consider them to be an easy listening group.
lisalorib 09/26/2001
What more can i say about the Brothers Gibb?? The bee gees are wonderful musicians and songwriters. People seem to forget that they bee gees had a career well before the release of "saturday night fever". Just listen to the album "Main Course". Glad to see that they are finally getting the respect that they so richly deserve.
PopFanForever 09/25/2001
My favourite group of all time!
007liscencetok ill 08/01/2001
The Bee Gees are one of the best groups around! I can't believe how many great songs they've written for both themselves and so many other artists. Also I think that the new album is great!
missyprice 07/26/2001
The Brothers Gibb have been writing and performing now for close to 40 years professionally. They have written hundreds of songs for other, been covered by many artists from Janis Joplin to Rod Stewart to Al Green to Destiny's Child. They have received every music award and several lifetime awards. And with their new album, have had a hit album in 5 consecutive decades. In the UK, they are the the only group to have a Top 20 single and album in 5 consecutive decades. Not bad for a group that has never been hyped by the media!
EternalLover 07/16/2001
Excellent group. Great songs both for themselves and others!
kiwi8577 07/05/2001
The Brothers Gibb are all fantastic songwriters! They'll be around for a long time.

i dont particularly like em, but i can tolerate it.. if i was some sorta disco fan they'd be awesome.

Fantastic. Nothing more to say!
PlayMisty 06/15/2001
Say what you want, but the Gibbs have been successful in 5 consecutive decades. They have countless hits and several chart toppers around the world. So many artists, new and old, have covered their material, which is one reason they are the the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
