David Bowie is one who is truly not afraid of expressing himself, no matter how unique it may be. He was unafraid to be a bisexual, unafraid to really explore himself. How many ppl like this are there? Very few that make it as far as David Bowie has. I truly admire him for everything that he is. I agree with most of the comments here apart from 2, The Man Who Sold The World is an old hit of Bowie's, and the last I heard he was still alive as well! But he will definately be remembered when he eventually passes away. This man has been releasing albums since the 60's and has succeeded in winning the audience in each decade. My partner is collecting every single album because he loves the music, and I bet there are many other fans who are the same as well.

Never got this guy. Let's Dance is his only truly great song. And maybe Dancing in the Streets with Mick Jagger?

As with any artistic genius(i.e.- Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan), the need for new challenges is going to lead you down an unforgiving path on occassion. When Bowie is on, he is unstoppable! My two favorite Bowie albums are The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and The Man Who Sold The World.

One of the greatest song writers of all time! Still going strong but he will be rememberd for his early material.

I think David Bowie is so awesome. I love his music, it's different sometimes, and well so is he, but that's one of the reasons he's my favorite singer.

What can I say from a man who's fabulous and that allready knows for a long time? He's unique, adapts himself to the upcoming worls. He's always changing and, at the moment, he's extremely envolved with the net business, with his BowieNet thing.Fabulous.

Pretty much the king of new music(past 25 years). this guy is the 'chameleon' and always pushes the bar a little bit higher for himself even though it is not commercaily the right tthing to do. He looks damn good for a 52 year old and his catalog contains such a number of great songs that will go down as some of the best in the history of rock. He had fun and was a little too wild when he was young, but he is re-discovering some of the B-sides that were not so popular 20 years ago and pulling them out to play them on tour and things like VH1 StoryTellers. Damn - I am an old piece of crap at 30 since I am talking about VH1 StoryTellers. Hippie to space pop-star alter ego to the suave Thin White Duke to flat-out 80s pop hero to internet father married to a supermodel who is one of the wealthiest musicians of all time. He has had a crazy ride and will continue to be a musical pioneer.

He's simply great, for those who don't agree I advice them to listen to "Hunky Dory", "Low" and "Heroes" (at least!) and then you'll change your opinion about him.Trust me.
