Music with very little edge whatsoever. You would be better off listening to Don Henley's solo albums.

Many times Eagles songs told very detailed stories. Desparadot displayed a perfect picture of a lonely man seeking a friend. And is their anyone out there who doesn't know the words to Hotel California?

The Eagles are truly a great band, with wonderful harmonies, guitar, and keyboard parts. All of the solo careers spawned from the Eagles are incredible also. Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Joe Walsh did some great work. They put on the best live show I've ever seen. The only band in my opinion that can beat the Eagles is Styx.

One of the finest bands around. Thank god SOME rock still exists out there.

In response to Rose Tatoo, it wasn't Walsh who did the latin rift for Hotel California on the Hell Freezes Over CD. It was Felder, who I think is a much better guitarist than Walsh (although he's pretty damn good!).

I can tolerate them sometimes, but Hotel California is getting really old.

What else is there to say? They are classics.

Great band featuring one of my all time favorite rock stars, Joe Walsh. They were classic before he joined them in 1976, and he just propelled them even higher on the "Hotel California" album. Great music, great singing. Only knock is the REDICULOUS prices of their tours in recent years.

These guys made a great ensemble, despite their musical ability. The songs are Rock-Country "standard", as well they should. The productions were marvelous and vocals and "prepared" solos unsurpassed in Pop music of the era. They made a lot of people happy and, in the long run, that's may be what Music is all about. Cheers for a job well done.

I have and alywas will love the Eagles. Their music contains truth beyond that of any other group, along with the awe inspriing sounds of their intruments.

There's just something about the Eagles' sound that relaxes me. I can listen to them all day long. They have a lot of great songs.

I like 'em a lot! They were before my time, but I like they're sound. I can't say that they're unlike any other band, because they didn't pioneer a musical sound really, they just transformed it in a way all they're own.

In my opinion, the only thing holding them back from greatest is their inability to understand and appreciate each others ability. They certainly rock like no other band and they are very, very talented. However, they need to stop trying to one up each other and concentrate on the music. They, every one of them, has talent over-flowing.

I am 30 years old. The Eagles were in there prime just after that. To this day, I have yet to find ANY band out there who has theor sense of style, rythm, and harmony. A terrible day when they broke up, but they had to do what was right for them. As for the songs, I will admit, not ALL of their songs were great. But the vast majority were and still are. Most of the people around my age group are either for or against them with no in-betweens. I have yet to find a band that can move your spirit and make your soul absorb every chord, every strum, every beat, and every note, as they do. "Hell Freezes Over" was exactly that. They commented back when they broke up that hell would have to freeze over before they ever played again. Well, my friends, the Devil is shaking in his boots. As for the people who slaughter the name of the band and their music, so be it. I can quarantee you that if you go ANYWHERE in the world, 95% of the people you ask will have heard of them. There hit "Hotel California" is among the top 100 songs OF ALL TIME. If their style of music is not your taste, fine then. But DO NOT take credit away from where it is justly deserved. For a bunch of "hillbillies" playing the guitar and various other instruments, they did pretty damn good. By the way, just a piece of information for you all. They actually didn't want to play together in the first place. They were studio musicians for, guess who, Linda Ronstadt. Amazing that they got their start from not wanting it in the first place. My heartfelt opinion; they are, without a doubt in my mind, the most talented AMERICAN band ever to have graced us with their music. They will ALWAYS have a place in my heart and soul.

The Eagles have sounded great even though they have broke up for 14 years. Ever since we entered the 90's, nobody knows great music when they hear it. Many should listen to the Eagles because they are possibly the greatest rock band ever!

They got one great song, Hotel California.

I grew up listening to The Eagles. They were a little before "my time" but I liked music early. I am 27 and appreciate the music of The Eagles more than most any music today. It was actually a dream come true when they went on tour again. I saw two of their shows and loved every minute of it. I will be there if they come around again (PLEASE!). THANK YOU Eagles for all of the great memories. Your music has had a big place in my life.

i love the eagles....i grew up on their hotle california album, now a cd....now my ten year old son is really enjoying that same music....i think if you dont like the eagles, , you shouldnt visit this page. i think they are great!

The Eagles were probably the most musician rich bands to ever play. Not your classic 3 chord rock songs so I can understand how the musically deprived could not comprehend their genius. Great lyrics and vocals you can understand, something today’s listener is not accustomed to hearing and incredible harmonies. Although the Beatles did it a little, the Eagles, especially Walsh, was the first to truly utilize and perfect twined guitars creating extreme depth and image in their sound. If you want to hear how great these guys are as pure musicians, listen to the revised version of Hotel California from their reunion concert. The Latin styled riff Walsh puts on this intro is phenomenal.

Oh man here’s a band I just can’t stand anymore. I probably listened to and enjoyed the “Greatest Hits” CD in high school, so I have to give more than one star, but ever since high school I just can’t stand the Eagles. Way, way too boring. And that goes for just about any of the solo stuff released by Glen Frey, Don Henley, or anyone else associated with this omnipresent blandness. If my legs were stuck in cement and my stereo across the room started playing “Lyin’ Eyes,” I would be forced the throw lamps, chairs, books, and whatever else I could get my hands on until the receiver was smashed. I can buy a new stereo, but I can’t buy back three minutes of my life.

What can I say, I love em! Plain and simple love em. Always have, always will. I am proud to have all their albums in my collection. So if that loser who is ashamed to have them in his collection, send it to me. It will have a place of honor! Keep on rocking.

The Eagels were not a pioneering band. However, instead, they took what was popular, and took it to new limits. If you don't like the Eagles then you don't like the radio because one of their songs is always on. Wither or not they are as good as fleetwood mac is in the eye of the beholder. As far as I'm concerned, the Eagles put more heart into their songs then anyone else. This is shown in all their songs and especially those which topped the charts. Love 'em or leave 'em, you can't say they are a bad band. No one who is "terrible" would be around after 30 years. Keep it up guys.

Undeniably a classic rock/country band. Love the song Desperado...other than that, they didn't ever really impress me musically.

I thought the group was great when I was in my 20's. My 20 year old son is a fanatic about them. Has nearly every song they recorded. They're talented - still!!!

For all those that gave The Eagles a poor rating, you obviously don't have the slightest clue of good quality music and talent. Do you even know what a simile is? If you did, you would appreciate the talent that these guys pour out in every song. The Eagles will always remain one of the best bands that ever was - hands down.

Yaaaawwwwnnn! So "laid back" that I wish I could dig graves for each one of them that they could "lay back" in them and never come back up. Not even the very rockin Joe Walsh could kick their asses in gear. Check out Gram Parsons{whose sound they totally stole} for truly unique country rock. Mr Henley give up your lame ass ballads and save more trees, and Glenn Fry, go back to your over indulgent Miami Vice pastel-hued soundtracks!!

One of the Greatest Bands of All Time. No Doubt About that at all. Their Popularity now spans three generations of listeners. And many songs never have gotten old. You can still hear ten or twelve tracks getting air play on a daily basis.

What an over-rated band. It is unacceptable that this bunch of money-grubbing guys came back and played together when they obviously disliked the experience of doing so. I would give them a 1 star rating, but fo some reason I do have a soft spot in my heart for the song 'Desperado'. I will aslo admit that I fell into the trap of buying one of their Greatest Hits CDs years ago and that now sits in the collection as one that I hope friends fail to see. Please, please, please do not spot that damn CD and ask why the hell it is in there with the rest of my music!

Probably the greatest band ever assembled from a sheer musician standpoint, every one of the members of this band has gone on to be at least moderately successful in his own right. If not the best blend of vocals very near the top. Even 20 years later, (Hell Freezes Over) they still have it. GREAT! job guys! Thanks for the memories!
