best sense of humor in a rock band

There are just so many things that I love about the Foo Fighters. Definitely Grohls best work, far exceeding his accomplishments with Nirvana. Mendel, Hawkins and Shiflett also contribute some impressive talent. Foo Fighters has consistently churned out music that makes me happy and I am thrilled with every new release.

One of the few contemporary rock bands worth bothering with as they have a strong melodic sense combined with power. Most rock bands to day can either do melody like Coldplay but are limp or they have aggression but are tuneless e.g. Trivium. Some Foo tunes don't always hit the mark but when they do they're excellent.

WAY overrated!

freaking sweet ass band 'my hero' rocks!!! but some of their stuff is kind of iffy..... but none theless david grohl is an awesome drummer and guitar player. this band is better than his old one nirvana

Please...'Everlong' is one of the greatest songs ever. Their other hits are good but not as good as 'Everlong'.

Dave Grohl is awesome

Don't know everything of theirs but I think David Grohl is just a go-getter when it comes to musical exploration and what i've heard really has a nice mix of rebellious edginess and quality. Grohl's former band Nirvana had the rebelliousness but they just didn't sound good, at least in my opinion, all my friends disagreed with me.

A really cool band 'My Hero' is their best song.

As with Jane's Addiction, the only thing I even remotely like about them are some of their videos. It's clear that Dave Grohl's got a sense of humor, which is good and that I also like, but the music could be made a lot better.

One of the only bands these days that has multiple hits and our worth listening too. I am proud to fight the Foo!

I totally disagree with RebelYell1861...I think the Foo Fighters have gotten better and better. Over time, Dave Grohl has proven himself to be an amazingly talented, versatile musician and songwriter. I think that over time, he has proven himself to be just as talented, perhaps even more so, than his late ex-bandmate Kurt Cobain (and that's a major compliment). The rest of the band is amazing too. The Foo Fighters' catalog is filled with strong songwriting and lyrics, great musicianship, and a diverse array of musical styles. Plus, Dave Grohl continues to prove his drumming skills by backing up bands like Queens of the Stone Age, who are amazing in their own right.

All My life is my fav foo fighters song. They are wonderful and nice and angsty.

These guys kick ass. First of al,they are the best live band out there right now.They play old favorites and new favorites along with Dave Grohl's great sense of humor mixed in. The first album was influenced by Nirvana,sure. He just left them. Once the Colour and the Shape came, you could tell they were a different band altogether. Everlong has great guitars and some of the best lyrics I have ever heard."Breathe out,so I can breathe you in.Hold you in..."-Everlong.Tell me that isn't a great line. There Is Nothing Left To Lose is another totally different album than the first two.It has a more laid back sound to it, but it does feature the sam attitude as the other albums. They were never really an angry band,but never really poppy either. Songs like Breakout,Generator,Learn To Fly,and Gimme Stitches may seem pop at first, but the guitars tell you that they are truly rock.These songs are way better when performed live,too.Another reason to see them in concert.They are worth every penny. The new album,One By One,is another different album than the previous ones.All My Life is one of the best songs I have ever heard.Times Like These is a great inspirational song as well.What sets the Foo Fighters apart from other bands is their originality from album to album. Each album is unique from their others,but they are stil clearly the Foo Fighters. Other bands tend to just sell tons of copies of one album and then try to copy the formula for that album for the next one.This turns out far worse versions of their previous songs that people will eventually tire of.This is another thing about the Foo Fighters:they write catchy music that you can listen to over and over again without getting tired of it.This ties in with the uniquness of each album. You can listen to every catchy song and never hear similar songs.Another thing about the Foos is the passion with which they play with. Dave Grohl lets it all out live. His screams can drive songs. they really enhance each song. Taylor Hawkins is a relentless drummer,who may be the best out there right now next to Dave Grohl. Nate Mendel and Chris Shifflet are above average at their respective positions in the band. They each rock ou really hard live.All in all,the Foo Fighters are a band that comes up with music that rocks on the album and live in concert. Each album is different,but with the Foo Fighters fingerprints all over them. That's what makes this band bettre than all the other bands out there. They write inspirational and thought provoking lyrics as well.Any non fan,just listen to Floaty,Monkeywrench,Hey Johnny Park,Everlong,Walking After You,Stacked Actors,Aurora,MIA,Low,Times Like These,or Burn Away.I'm sure your mind will change about this band very quickly.

They were great when I saw 'em live back in 2000. But like so many other bands, their new stuff just ain't as good as their old stuff. Any band that encompasses a former part of Nirvana must be good....

Atrocious band. Emblematic of the pathetic, idea-starved post-grunge era. They make safe, radio-friendly rubbish with thoughtless lyrics and try to pass that off as rock n roll. Puh-leeze. Ever heard of that visceral, primal yet erudite band of yore... what's their name again? I think it started with an N. Oh, well.

When a band works with Brian May, I have to check them out. And as far as this one goes, I'm glad I did. My favorite song by the good ol' FF is "Stitches"...no particular reason except that it's catchy and---ta-da!---it has a purpose. Taylor Hawkin is a great musician and in general a great guy...I hear him quoted by the gay rights activists a lot. Sure, the Foo Fighters (how in the name of all that's unholy did they come up with that name?) have only been around a few years, but having joined the music industry in the same year that *NSANE (oh, sorry, I meant *NSYNC) did, I predict the FF outmusic them by about...oh, I don't know...20 years? 30? Whatever. Overall, this is a pretty good band with catchy tunes and very few flaws, and I can see why Brian May would do a few tracks with them (go away, Limp Bizkit). Take care, everyone!

i know hardly anything about them but what i've heard of their music is pretty good.

Some people think the foofighters are just like Nirvana. But they are not! They jst kick A$$ in another way than nirvana did and thats why I like them! Their music is fantastic!!

Foo Fighters gave me the reason to start playing guitar. Dave Grohl has got to be one of the best frontmen, right up there with Kurt Cobain and James Hetfield! How many artists do you know that can sing lead, play lead guitar, backup guitar, write good songs, and play drums! Thanx Dave.

These guys have produced some great alternative style music. Their latest stuff, eg "Learn to Fly", "Generator", etc is really great. It has a good sound to it and you don't get sick of it like you do with some music.
